a shaman topped the DPS chart in the 25x raid we did

A guild mate and I took a solo character each into the 25 man OS PUG. I took my resto shaman and he took one of his elemental shaman.
His elemental shaman was at the top of the DPS charts for almost every pull but one ( several times >3000 DPS ) :thumbup:

I was surpised that the other shaman with more raid gear wasn't keeping up with sheshamd ( skill and great macros I guess ) 8|

and my shaman healer was on the top of the healing charts for 1 or 2 of the pulls :rolleyes:

I should have made a screen shot of the DPS numbers.
I know it was a PUG and several players were getting awards for their first Valor badge but it still felt good to be a contendor again.

It seems the shaman have been fixed.

I was at 3200+ yesterday in Naxxramas 10 man. I was at the second place, first place was a mage. (but spider group aoe anyone?)

I also had 4100 dps on Sartharion 25 man.

Is our damage nerfed then or what? Havent played my shamans that many yet today.

My enhancement shaman is usually in the top 3, and I'm only beaten by people who have practically full T7/T7.5. I only have two pieces of T7.

Hmm quick questio tho however regaurding sheshamdtalent point allocation. I like it as it is a very ncie setup. however I really would enjoy instant ghostwolf. Would it be a better decision to drop 2 ranks of Elemental Precision (dont know how important + 2% hit really comes out to in the end) or better to drop 2 ranks of unrelenting storm (hmm mana hmmm mana totems).

Really great spec overall I would say. I still havnt respecced my shaman team since it was reset to 0 since I am trying to use RAF to focus on other teams atm.

My shaman is pulling #1 and 2 on DPS in respective weeks on Patchwerk. Definitely loving the changes. keep forgetting to use EM though XD

if you keep forgetting to use EM couldnt you make two seperate castrandom macros. One that has it and one that doesnt. This way you will never forget it, just an idea.

EM is a massive dps boost. It gives you 20% more chance to crit for 30 seconds, and apart from this being being a huge dps increae, what it does is make clearcassting be up more, which gives you 10% more for your next two spells. ANd yea, you will find ele shammies will scale extremely well now with spell powr.

Also, elemental precision should not be dropped. 2% hit is 2% dps. For raiding the hit is more important than the instant ghostwolf which you can't even use inside most raids.

The elemental shaman I solo raid with went from ~4000 dps vs 25m patchwerk to ~5000 after the patch. Large buffs are large.

I also throw a magma totem in the middle of trash pulls just so I can stomp on the "spamming aoe on trash and topping meters means I'm awesome" people.

5000????!!! can you link your gear? and do you do FS>LvB>LBxxxx?

5k is pretty normal now, did 5600 on last patchwerk, but in my guild at least that put me at 8th on meters :)

What dps did you get on Thaddius? 8)

Bad bad bad. Drop something else but not precision. PvE wise it's among the top talents we have. :p

I'd say check out my armory, but somehow the europiant talent part of armory is bugged and it doesn't show all points.

replace lightning bolts with chain lightning if it will hit more than 1 target
if a fight is less than or equal to 3 minutes then save elemental mastery for when heroism is up

I went into Heroic Gundrak last night. I was yelling nerf stick over vent jokingly at my mage buddy. On the boss that changes form into a mammoth we decided to go for the achievement to kill him before he shifts forms. Our group was DK, Rogue (me), Resto Shaman, mage, Pally tank.

Our mage threw down 5400 DPS on that mammoth boss in a 5 man with a melee heavy group. WTF I say. He is arcane btw. The newest patch lit up the arcane tree.

Anyways, I'm wondering, what do you think the new elemental improvements could pull down in a melee heavy 5 man. I shelved my rogue for the rest of the night and we went into some heroics with my 3 box of arcane mages + his mage and a pally tank.

So 4x arcane mage and pally tank. On average our group was netting 16-17k dps on bosses. We were able to full clear 2 heroics without a healer. Granted the pally tank was occasionally doing things like bubbling himself HoPing the first mage the boss got to then taunt kiting as long as he could last, but still..... It was pretty retarded.

Now if that doesn't sound like a tank who knows what he is doing, I don't know what does. Seriously, a LOT of tanks these days are incapable of performing these actions. I have been with a lot of pally tanks who have failed to use HoP on me (when I'm healing) to save me from aggro, or HoJ if taunt is on CD and they have to come over and whack it a few times to get the treat. And you don't see many warrior tanks using intervention anymore either. You make sure that pally never respecs now, ya hear?!

im enhancement and before last night i was sitting around 2700ap and for sapp and kt i was pulling consistent 2500+ dps, now this is nothing compared to the 5k+ your all talking about but im finishing top 3 usually in 10 man nax (yet to run 25 man). after last night i got the helm so im sitting just under 3k ap and looking forward to a dps test against our dual weild 2h warrior who can consistently pull 3800+ dps.

my spec is a little screwy i know, i still like instant ghost wolf, and i still need the mana cost reducing abilities, but when i get that sorted i can see a good 500dps increase just by respeccing.
im am very often top 2 dps in our 10 mans, and 1 week ago i was pulling barely 1400 dps in blues, since then ive got my spell rotation down and am looking forward to seeing 25 mans with a decent set of gear to work from.

I raid Naxx, Maly, and Saph, 25 and 10, taking either my mage (main raiding toon, this one usually goes) or one of my shammies (when our regular ele shammy isn't around). Ele shammy dps is definitely up, breaking 3K is not a problem raid-buffed and my shammy still has a couple of blues and even a green (trinket).

However, my Mage is over 4K dps on most boss fights, even with movement and decursing, and breaks 6K on certain fights (Leotheb with 100% crit rate is insane with frostfire spec). So there's still some room to make up there. It seems that mages (and hunters, DKs, etc) get a lot more from raid buffs -- in particular they scale very nicely with shaman totems! I know in test-dummy testing, my mage solo vs. with an elemental shammy in the party shows a nearly 1K dps jump from shammy buffs. My shammy alone vs having a mage along (for int buff and scorch debuff) gets less than half that amount of dps gain.

Shammy swaps out rings and a trinket to cap hit rating for boss fights, but has higher spell power, crit and haste than the mage (flametongue buff is part of that). That's without totems. So, something is still lopsided there. Then again I'm pretty sure I'm far better at mage dps than shammy dps in a raid setting, as 90% of my raid time is on my mage.

AoE pull dps on mages (and spriests, warlocks, hunters, even meelee classes) is just plain better. WTB no-cooldown no-target-limit chain lightning.

Oh, I need to change my pants. Can you imagine no cd, no target limit with Chain lightning in AV, that would be just awesome sauce spaming it with 4 shammies lol. Wow, we would easily hit the most dmg :P

I did a full 25 naxx run yesterday (solo, I multibox in tens with my own guild, only pug 25's to relax and lay back.)
and came out on 4400-4500 DPS on all over the course of the entire run (overall data). Managed 6800 dps on Thaddius. =)

Very nice. This is getting me excited as I have gone from stuggling to hit 2k dps with EM and heroism to now easily doing 2.5k dps on a boss fight (without the magic buff from moonkins or dks or locks) with trinkets or anything. And this is only from a few simple pieces of gear. Atm, I'm only on 17% crit, 319 haste and 1650 spell power. Oh, and 197 hit.
