Yo,
I assume lots is now starting to get some pvp gear.
At what resilience are you starting to notice improvments.
*Improvments as in beeing able to take more beating and resulting in surviving and killing your foes.

unfortunately i still get gibbed from time to time and i'm in 500+ resil...... Its nasty.
It was at around 300 resilience that I started to get that old, sorely-missed feeling of pvp enjoyment back with my shaman team. At that point I could comfortably turtle-tank and take out equally sized groups of opponents. There is a long way to go, but it was at that point that I felt confident again in battlegrounds.
Arenas are still a complete clusterhump and no amount of resilience is going to change that. It is going to take a profound change to resilience and/or a profound change to burst and aoe damage to bring arena balance into line.
Will it happen? Not to the extent that most of us want it to, I expect. I have a feeling that any changes will be minimal and closely coupled with a bunch of Ghostcrawler retoric that when boiled down simply says "Adapt or Die."
rant over :P
Main problem is that sooo manny use pve gear atm..
The day everyone(well almost everyone) is forced to use pvp gear to survive like in S3/S4 things will get alot more balanced.
Right now you dont survive even in pvp gear unless your getting near 1000 resillience..
Anti magic shield,Ice block, divine shield and clos is worth alot more then resillience since you can kill other players within that time.
THats a crock of shit honestly.
How do you adapt to paladin + dk being in the sk top100 94% of the time in 2v2. ( dk + pally + hunter = same thing for 3v3 )
How do you adapt to being out dps'd by a factor of 4 by a hunter?
Doesnt matter what gear your wearing, even if the paladin you just got gibbed by is in full pve gear you WILL die before his bubble is over if hes worth a damn.
Rant over.
I have over 600 and I die maybe 1 second slower than when I had 300. It really doesnt make any difference. Maybe if I had 1200 it would but thats impossible right now.
I did some 2's with Suvega and I can agree with this.Quote:

I'm mid-600's now and as long as I time my trinket right I just might survive against Pally/DK if Suvega and I chain fears, I trinket out of the worst of the stun, Pain Suppression is up, my Abolish Disease ticks don't get resisted, I can dispel the DK's slows off of me fast enough, I purge the BoFreedom off of the pally so Suvega can hamstring it, and fear is off cooldown when I get Death Gripped.
As you can see, it's alot of "ifs".
As long as the above happens, it turns into a race against my mana pool and whether or not my instant casts can keep me up while I'm running (the DK can interrupt any casts I can make, and any time I stop moving I typically take massive amounts of damage). Suvega pressures the Pally to bubble, and as long as I'm still alive to mass dispell it it's fairly easy to drop the DK after the pally's gone. I guess the race for them is "Can we kill the priest before I need to use my bubble, so that she can't dispell it off me?" -- smart ones will stun/repentence me right before they bubble since I've usually been forced to blow my trinket by that time.
The good news is, we're breaking about even on our win/loss ratio facing mostly DKs, Pallies, Rogues (ugh), and Hunters.
Did some 2vs2 with a mate who is quite a newb when it comes to pvp and the part of team play. (a hand of protection often takes 5 seconds after i asked for it) :P
I played on of my elemental shamans and to my suprise we actually won a few matches.. Disc priest/rogue in the orgrimmar arena was quite easy since i can take 10-15k in a matter or seconds if im left alone and the priest is slow of his healing and to stupid to bubble before the fence goes down. Faced manny weird combos and we lost most due to beeing outgeared and total lacking teamplay..
Then we faced arcane mage/holy paladin both in pve gear.. I died so fast even with grounding totem as i have NO way to regain health or avoid a hard hit like pom pyro + arcane barrage (well apart from grounding totem) If i start to heal i already lost as a holy paladin can interrupt and atleast do abit of dps while my retanoob gets steam by a arcane mage due to lack of skill. (cant say im update on mage vs retadin)
I was able to feel WHY ret paladin/dk is such a good combo...
We started the match and they both went for me.. repentance then they got in meele range and my paladin trew me a HoF, so i ran and trew down a grounding to absorb deathgrip wich the dk ofc meeled down first and death gripped me back. Then i got hammer of justice wich i trinkted just to find myself in that DK slow, and my paladin was forced to use hand of protection on me, funny part now is that i get strangulated and cant heal myself. When HoP is out i die to a 4k hammer of wrath! I didnt use earthbind or thunderstorm so i guess it could have been done better and after all i did go in there as a elemental shaman. :)
600 now and i can barley keep a slave up if a well geared rogue dps on one of my slaves.
I see,
I´m 600ish and within a week 700ish.
ive been doing alot of AV & WG last days and i feels like i can take awhole lot more of smacking now managing to survive with a bunch of people beeing able to fight back with higher sucess. But im afraid it has more to do with higher spell power and stamina i got from the new items.
Guess i got it confirmed that its not resiliance value on me making me able to fight back :P
Arena is still steamrolled no comments on that one we all know how it is.
AV & WG is still the fun place for a Multiboxer i guess until possible changes from blizz in te future.
Resil doesn't seem to help much (it does just not enough) combined with HP though and it finally starts to feel better. I'm at 20k hp unbuffed and with the patch coming in today and all the 4 dps comps losing flavor to 3 dps teams, it makes a world of difference. Getting gibbed isn't as prevalent and if I lose it's going to now be on my shoulders of what I can do to improve and not, oh I died in 2 seconds.
The good news is I went 9-2 with a new Paladin before ending the week, sitting at 1700. I expect this patch to do many good things, and my rating should go up quite a bit.
also did some 2 v 2 this weekend using my main resto shaman with a rog friend. I had about 260 resilience and 18k HP unbuffed. It didn't go so well. we went for 12-9 for the week. I had mostly naxx PVE gears on where as my partner has all PVE gears (0 resilience). Against the 2 dps combos, they usually focus fire on me. I trinket the first stun NS + Heal. Then they CC me again I was pretty much done for. had a lot of trouble against the mage + rog combo. They coordinate the silience with burst and I am 100% dead.
Like many have pointed out, the problem is not burst. The problem is immunity. All classes are out putting high burst damage. and the classes with immunity are winning the game. Warrior is a good example. We won all games against the team that contains a warrior. My partner rog can burst down the warrior even with a holy paladin spamming flash/holy light on him. But with Dk, pally, mage, rog, they are different ball games. Especially DK, 1 game we killed the DK and he came back as a ghoul owned me while the pally used the second hammer of justice on me.
lastly as for resilience, in arena, the classes that have NO immunity skills need them (by a lot). The classes with immunity don't need them IMO. They better off get more damage using PVE gear to burst down people. Shamans need a lot of HP and Resilience to do anything. or Give us immune totem!
EDIT: changed the typo
heh your bold statement doesnt make any sense, but I believe you are trying to say:

ya. lol. Thnx for pointing it out. Took too much beating on the head. Seriously, unless the instant pyro went to grounding, i just can't see myself survive the mage rog combo. Either they give us immue totem, or remove the GCD on instant ghost wolf, otherwise no escape.
Im 838 Resi now , pretty much got the gear i can get withoith Arena wins. It help it does bgs like wsg,ab,eots and AV´s where people fail to heal eachother is back to pwn.
Arenas however :P not going so good for me =) , im still experimneting with classes and healers found Disc priest dies instantly so guess Paladin ftw?
Well on my Warlock I'm sitting on 21.5k HP and 812 resil, I have 2 slot upgrades left to get that does not require rating. The Hateful belt for +25 stam, 10 resil, 1 blue socket. I could pick up the pvp trinket for +84 more, although I don't need it since I'm Human. Really leaning towards the Berserker or +111 stam trinket from H AN over it to be honest. Either that or dropping Tailoring for JC'ing and getting a Ruby Hare.
That being said, I do quite well in Battlegrounds or Wintergrasp, and I'm sure if I had a good healer I'd do well in 2v2's.
Eeew its human, kill it with a fork! I would hate to meet your character in a BG, sometimes warlocks seem really hard to take down. I ran into this one in WG that really enjoyed ruining my shamans day. He was able to get off AE fear a couple of times(so so embarassing) and since I dont equip fear trinkets in WG he killed all my shamans before fear was done (big wtf there!) Granted it was hectic, so its possible someone hit my group with a turret. I made a Bee line for that guy everytime after. I didnt care if my shamans would get wiped out, I was determined to kill that one guy. LOL, and now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
Now finding a paladin with gear skilz who is up for practise and learning curve seems to be the hardest atm =)
WTB Pally whom wanna spend lots of time in arena :P
Yup, been trying to find a decent healer for a couple of weeks now to no avail. So many facerolling rogue/retpala/DK out there that any healer who wants to PvP has far better options than a Warlock right now. Ah well...
