I just noticed these bosses drop 300-500g cash..
So.. what would be required to box this? Is it possible? What about the first boss in Gruul? He drops a ton of cash aswell.

I'd have to say its impossible to box the first boss of gruul's and mag just because of the huge amount of different tasks that need to be done.
If you're going strictly for cash, might I recommend:
Onyxia for 150g plus a bunch of shards, sellables
World dragons for the same
And my personal favorite:
Doomwalker in Hellfire for 250g plus two tradeable level 70 epics on par with tier 4 that sell for a few hundred gold on the AH
As for Gruul and Mag, like the above poster stated, too many things going on - how are you gonna click the cubes? And the cave-ins on Gruul would kinda suck
Thanks for the tips.
I think that you could do Mag if you just ate the blast wave. At 80 I don't know if it'd be deadly. I don't think so.Quote:

Maybe not, but I'd still take a hard look at stacking a little fire resist.Quote:

And besides all this, even at the BEST "for cash" rates of doing doomwalker, etc, you're still going to fall WAY behind someone just doing northrend quests/dailies. You can make 1300+g in 1 1/2 hours doing dailies in northrend, and if you have undone quests you can add those on and make 3k in just a few hours.
Sorry, they removed the daily cap?Quote:

Even aside from that, this is an amusing idea just for the fun of doing it. Doing it and coming away with gold just makes it better.
I don't have epic flying on all my chars so I've been avoiding the dailies.
I'd guess you're dead even before the first blastwave. Assuming one can clear the trash you'd still have to deal with 5 channelers. They heal themselves, cast a nasty aoe and get stronger the more you have already killed. And they also summonQuote:

elementals. If you don't kill them on time then mag spawns upon you (most of the time you had one or 2 left when mag spawned). Most of the fun in the mag encounter actually was surviving till you got them all down, afterwards it's merely tank and spank + click cubes and get out of the fire.
I'd honstly be really really impressed if someone manages to five box (hell, even 10 box) this encounter at 80.
I will probably 10 box this encounter at 80 whenever I get both of my 5 man teams geared up.Quote:

The dailies are what will get you the cash to buy your epic flyers.Quote:

Even without the dailies the fastest way (even faster than dailies) to get cash is to just keep questing in zones you haven't completed yet - you can knock out thousands of gold worth of quests very fast to get your epic flyers. Even without epic flyers, NOTHING you can do will get you cash as fast as questing at 80, thats just how it is. Get carbonite or another quest related addon to make the money flow in even quicker. Combine the quest cash with the reward sales cash plus various AH sellables you get while on the quests and you can make some mega cash.
it's still extra cash, and there's always some chance @ a nice piece of freebee loot for an alt or something, or if you want to complete your t4 sets.
I'm sure you could even go back and solo certain other t5 based boss's with 5-10 boxing.
Don't forget the Mag has the bag, and gem satchel plus his head for the quest turn in.
Its fun to do as a challenge, to prove you can do it to yourself, etc. However, don't bother doing it for (1) loot, (2) gold. Northrend is far, far, far superior in terms of itemization and gold/hour to anything you will do in TBC at level 80.
I myself run first boss Kara and ZG once a week just to farm mounts, already have one horsemen mount and one tiger mount drop. I like doing it and its fun for me. Sometimes i do onyxia, again for the fun and challenge not for the gold. But in 1 hour of doing Sons of Hodir dailies, which not only gives lots of gold but ALSO rep towards necessary shoulder enchants, I make 94g + drops (got a number of rares, greens, etc) in 30-45 mins doing 6-7 daily hodir quests, per character, or 500g total. Its even higher for multiboxer friendly dailies like the ebon hold, warsong, etc but I'm mostly focused on Hodir until I hit exalted. I've also collected 300+ relic of ulduars, which I can use for rep after next patch or probably sell for 1000g+.
uhh I don't know, i did whole day of heroics yesterday, did pretty much all of them besides 2, today i put all cloth, all disenchanting mats, all leather, all w/e from them on ah, sold it and made 6562 gold so far(90% of it sold so far), plus all my toons got their black mammoths :P, on top of that if i were to buy frozen orbs with badges I could had made 360 x 5 more(orbs sell for 120 on my server), all this took about 5-6 hours total.Quote:

orbs sell for 120!?
damnit on my server they are 40g... barely worth listing =(
didet belave the would be do abel, but wantet to try it out, so i took the tip to shadowmoon vally whit my 4 shamans 78 and my well geared 80 prot pala, in downed doomwalker in first try, got an axe and a cloak from him + 500g, sold the 2 items alrady for 800g total even if daylis gives alot of cash it was kinda nice to get 1300g for 20 mins work, i will surely give others tbc 25 man bosses a try when i get my shamans up
lol, you group wasnt even all 80... was it easy or an almost wipe?
it was easy, well i did have mana issues on the shamans at 30%, so i took a mana brake for em, only fired lava burst and flame shock at that time, used a mana port on all 5 toons
doomwalker relly hit like a baby on a well geard paladin, but on the enraged i had to use loh when doomwalker had 2-3% left but i will still rate this easy, my shamans have only changed a shield since level 70, so it will just be a walk in the park for any level 80 geared team
nice I will be farming this fool when hes up just for fun.

I would actually say this may or may not be inncorrect. Based off a servers economy, farming ore + herbs can be much more proffitable then any sort of questing. I did over 16k gold from mining alone, in less then 1 week, and this is just farming about 2 hours a day.
Stacks of Saronite ore = 30g on my server, prospect these.. my average prospect stack was about 75g from the gems ect.
Take the gems you get from prospecting with the eternal earths ect, and craft the lvl 70-75 rings from JC, disenchant those. Infinite dust on my server is 4-6g a piece, avg DE is 1-2 dust, avg ring profit is 7g a ring for me.
Your eternal earths and shadows, they get crafted into the level 76 + rings, and de'ed. This is 3-5 Infinite dust or 1-2 Greater Cosmics (30g a piece on my server). Out of a stack of 20 earths and shadows, i was averaging about 550-750g in enchanting mats.
This is not counting the price of titanium ore and bars, and the crafting of titansteel once a day, also factor in if your eng you can get some more eternals from mote extractors, eternal airs, fire and water from the titanium nodes.. which can be transmuted into titanium bars through alchemy. Toss in some herbalism, and herbs on my server avg about 25-50g a stack.
The money is in gathering, i can farm roughly 8-12 stacks of saronite an hour, and depending on luck 3-4 titanium nodes, which can produce anywhere from 6-16 ore. I would on average I make about.. 600-1000g a hour farming ore alone.
I also have JC on one character, and I sell the dragons eyes.. they go for around 300g a piece on my server. I actualy get about 270-260 undecutting and ensuring a sale.
I tried him today and can only get him to like 50%. I obviously have mana issues as well, but the aggro wipe is a PITA. I never seem to be able to keep him on my tank and I get flung around, even though I hugged a corner. I'm just not sure what to do here as his Sunder Armor starts to stack up unless I kite him away and let him hit my shammies so my tank has long enough for Sunder to fall off (At about 10 stacks he hits for like 8-10k).Quote:

Haha I tried Kazzak as well and that is next to impossible. His ability that is suppose to not hit the person with Aggro does, so my tank gets it all the time. Combine it with the fact that he hits the others and then goes nuts with shadow volley, and then does his mass lets throw everyone everywhere spell and its game over...lol
lol orbs on my server are 25g each (sometimes as low as 15g).
I can confirm that you can eat the blast wave at 80. The trash was much worse than Mag himself. We decided to try it after hearing that someone recently 3 man'd it. We had 3 people at the wheel: 1) Paladin tank + 2 melee dps, 2) Priest healer + Paladin healer + 3 caster dps, 3) Moonkin. We aoe'd the channelers, then jammed all of the ranged and healers into the nook where the door meets the wall, and nuked. No deaths, and only my Paladin healer went oom (mindless macro spamming isn't very efficient lol).Quote:

Ony only drops 50g now. Kazzak and doomwalker are on a 2 day respawn timer pretty sure.
Mag is good for the bag itself I reckon lol. And always fun to beat old content. Tasty and I have downed Kazzak a few times, just geta secure location to help reduce the knockbacks and be ready to dispel the debuff.
btw for magtheridon, you can round up the adds, and you can heal through the fire thing with ease. Magtheridon is a push-over atm. Maulgar isnt doable though, with just a small skeleton crew. Too much stress going on there.
So anyone managed to do gruul/high king maulgar yet? Would it be possible with a 4 ele shaman + pala tank team?
For anyone interested in what you would need to clear Gruul's Lair:
Taken from IRC:
Quote:
[07:23] Svper: I doubt you could 5 box gruul, Even at 80.
[07:23] Svper: Well, you may be able to 5 box gruul, But not High King Maulgar
[07:24] Svper: He required 4 or 5 tanks at 70, I think that would be just too much damage at 80 for 1 tank, + fel hounds running around raping face.
[07:24] cairnz: gruul could be soloed:P
[07:24] cairnz: that evasionrogue
[07:24] Svper: Not these days
[07:24] cairnz: "could" ;)
[07:25] Svper: That was a pretty patch specific event
[07:25] Svper: But yah
[07:25] Svper: They've nerfed the balls off Agi -> Dodge
[07:25] harrycane: hmm
[07:25] Svper: I think 2x 5 boxers could probably do it.
[07:25] harrycane: well. pop 4 earth elementals
[07:26] harrycane: then i have 4 extra tanks
[07:26] Svper: Have you ever seen the Maulgar fight?
[07:26] harrycane: yes did it last night with my guild
[07:26] Svper: It's not just afk tanking by EE.
[07:27] Svper: You need 1 solid tank for Maulgar, 1 range tank for the mage, 2 tanks (at least) for the warlock
[07:27] Svper: Thats assuming you can nuke down the others.
[07:27] harrycane: hmm
[07:27] harrycane: hehe
[07:27] Svper: You can't melee tank the mage, cause he does an aoe that 1 shots (at 70) clothies, 2 shots tanks
[07:28] Svper: and the lock drops aggro when he death coils
[07:28] Svper: I think you can get away with 2 tanks
[07:29] harrycane: ill try next week :)
