Season 5, I'm back! and it feels grreeeat! I missed you PvP soo much.
Tell us how you do :-)
do you still have to go to tanaris to make a damn team? I hated that so much. Also Ellay whats your general strat now that elemental shamans dont use NS+CL anymore?
Lots of Pew Pew, a little qq :)
Still working on the strats but I have practically 0 resilience and 15k hp unbuffed, 11-4 at the moment and all my losses were avoidable. I'm not too upset with that ratio as it will greatly excel once my hp is more comparable to that of plate wearing classes.
So these are ranked matches right? S5 is out right now?
Im looking forward to getting started. I've not been able to farm the heroics so im stuck in a stormhide set at the moment which is mostly enchanted up now. Hopefully i'll keep up with the gear with a new arena season and fresh expansion. :) Would love to hear how you guys are doing over the pond, especially with regards to Lava burst damage etc. Would also like to know if you are bothering with Hex at all? ta!
Im sure that rather high spell damage you are sitting on makes up for the lack of Resi :)
But how do you guys feel about the new change: Elemental Mastery: Redesigned. Now increases the Shaman’s critical strike chance by 20% for 30 seconds. Cooldown remains at 3 minutes.
For me that sounds like the end of the end.
I dont think its a "huge" issue, mine now activates with Thunderstorm and nothing else, so when people are up close and personal its probably a good time to use it and start ripping into people. Its certainly not 'the end', those extra Lava Burst crits should make up for it :) The glass is half full in my eyes.

Ellay, get some footage :P
I sneaked in today to buy a pair of Savage shoulders for heroic emblems.. :)
Will probably buy the 2 highest rated pieces as Savage, then work on getting the lowest rated Hated pieces.
Haven't played any games yet. I expect the servers to go bananas tonight when the pvp hungry masses return to the arena after 2 months of basically no pvp. :)
You know to make an arena team you had to buy a charter in gadgetzan and then get everyone to sign it. THEN you had to fly back to Gadgetzan to turn it in. What a pain in the ass.Quote:

anyways, Ellay, be ready for instagib rogue teams, it's kinda pathetic what they can do atm.
You can buy arena charters and Q up from the sewers of Dalarn
If you can handle Dalaran lag sure.Quote:

also did some arena last nite. ended up 3-11. Need a lot of more work on my side. and God bloodlust battlegroup is hard. But the shaman class was definitely exceeding my expectations without the elemental buff. I have some serious issue with rog, mage, druid combo (the other 2 don't matter). They stealth in. 1 shot my healer, or me. With our AOE buff, I'd imagined melees would think twice before going in a crowd of 5 shamans. All in all, not a bad nite.
I have about 500 resil in gear, 1700 spellpower after flametongue wep, and my partner is the same paladin I was with when we consitantly held 1900ish rating in s3 and s4. We did games tonight and got rolled. *ROLLED*... We went 5 and 10, so that doesnt sound bad but the teams we beat were just bad. The ones that did beat us killed us so fast we didnt even know what hit us, it was rediculous. We had one team with a moonkin open up and we all died in about 5 sec. I wish the best of luck to others but im extremely disheartened, I was worried with so much dps going around + all the aoe's this would happen and so it has. Also DK's seem to shut paladins down rather well, maybe all healers im not sure. What is really worrying me is the fact that 2 of the teams that just roflstomped us in 5 secs only had THREE dps. Thats usually an easy win. I even tried to outheal their cooldowns with lust, but it was no use, just died way to quickly to even have a chance at healing through it.
I ran five skirmishes and got roflstomped in all, my e-peen swiftly shrunk to tiny proportions and i gave up, choosing to go and sulk instead. Granted I have no gear but even so, I SUCK AT ARENA!
WTB arena multibox strategy vidz :P
Went 7-16 or something such..
All in all.. we dominated equally geared teams.
However.. there's a major issue at the moment:
Hardcore raiders: 25k hp, 3k dps
Multiboxed shamans: 15k hp, 1.5k dps
See.. we're being burned in both ends right now - we have to play insanely good to make up for that. Only once or twice did I beat such a raid-geared team.
And yes, DKs are messing up healers very badly. :)
Ya I faced a few teams today that I had 0 chance against, the disparity of hp and damage done is a bit out there. I hope they tune it soon. I'm going to keep at it but we'll definitely need the gear to compete.
Playing with a brand new healer (and my old one, he's just not on this week) 4-9 so far. 5 of my losses were to the same team. It's hard to deal with Magic Seekers who are fully epiced, and I'm not. That's the big difference between BC and wrath. No one had all the raid instances on farm 2 months after release, nor did they have 4/5 T7. It's hard dealing with a ret pally with 2k autoswing damage and 30% crit, when he's backed my a boomkin/rogue/hunter all in the same gear.
It'll even out, but right now, the hard core PVErs are the only ones that are going to see huge success in arena atm.
That and the classes with big nerfs coming up, know they need to get the points before they get balanced. Which is frustrating - Blizzard knows that there are massive class disproportionality issues out there, cause they're on the PTR, but this season was allowed to go live without those changes. Add to the fact that we have broken talents, and the elemental shaman tree is being reworked....
Either way, I'm still having fun in BGs/arena.
I was very excited about it and made my team a few minutes past 11:00 ;p
I'm finding that I am.. enthusiastic so to speak. I'm not sure what the neighbour thinks of me now. At one point I got so frustrated that I gave my keyboard a nice old punch then threw it.. that ripped out some cables and I had to pull my graphs card out of the box to straighten something up. Fortunately my computer still works.
Playing two hunters is challenging, with everyone hiding behind pillars and trying to get in on me all the time and whatnot. I'm between 1500 and 1600 most of the time and after 105 games I have 55-50 win/loss. I'm telling myself that I'm learning how to do this and hopefully things'll get better. I'm doing some silly mistakes so if I can learn how to avoid those.. great. The thing that makes me cry the most is IMMUNE. I just can't stop being annoyed by this and I don't understand how Blizz could let chars have 9 lives like that. Anyway GL to all, I'll go and try to learn some more now ;)
I'm sitting at 4 bubbles rested to 80 with my pure DeathKnight team. I'm pretty excited to give them a go at arena, but I'm gonna try not to get my hopes up. Even though I'll have 5x AMZ mitigating over 70,000 damage, I have no clue how well i'll be able to dps targets. I might have to stick with frost presence. My spec will be
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jZGgL...hoZfMGhzfkMxoo
With 2 of my deathknights Take 2 points from black ice and put it in frost aura/unholy aura.
Patch is gonna destroy bone shield so I'm going with something that gives more burst.
eh you will do well against magic users... dunno about melee teams.
Yeah I'd love to hear how non-shammy teams are doing, I think the 4x shaman teams are going to have troubles for a long time (until patch 3.1 anyways, if Blizzard addresses the elemental shaman HP/dps issue). But I do think there are going to be other "trick" teams like maybe druids, DKs, mages, etc that could potentially have great success.
