Multiboxing WOTLK PVP the end is near.

The golden age of pvp for boxers is over. Yes I declare it so! The new bg's are very anti boxer and cause nothing but frustration. SOTA is a giant cluster fuck for boxers. You start split up sometimes and then get wasted by cannons and vehicles. There is not much you can do within that bg besides do your best to defend something. Wintersgrasp is very similar except you can get some honor with the daily quest. Overall pvp is frustrating. World pvp can be fun at times. Unless your battlegroup still grinds av its going to be painful to grind honor. I dont know about you all but I am sick to death of wsg, ab, eots, and av. I was looking forward to a new bg. The changes they included really put a stop on our style of play.

Arena is going to be even more frustrating. I will be very surprised if a team can do well. Now some people are lucky enough to have guilds that run 25 & 10 mans with their boxed groups. Those guys have a leg up seeing how they can buy pvp gear with the marks from raiding. Despite that its going to be very tough to arena. At this point I am about ready to throw the towel in. My choices are to level my second group and pve heroics. Or cancel 4 accounts and play 1. I have even been thinking of stopping all accounts. The only reason I continue to play this game is because of multiboxing. Raiding is not an option because I work to much. PVp doesnt seem like an option anymore with all the latest changes. PVe solo vs heroics seems like a very boring option.

If you are having success please tell us the secret. SOTA is hell. Wintersgrasp is about the same. The other bgs dont even que most of the time.

I haven't actually gotten to the point where I have taken my 3 girls into Wintergrasp or SOTA but reading everyone's thoughts on the new BGs and even some of the instances (Oculus) it has me very discouraged as well... For the time being I chose to cancel my other 3 accts because money is tight anyways, and it will give me some time to think about what I want to do as far as MB goes. If I decide to come back to it (which I'm sure I will) it probably won't be until I have gotten a regular job and can afford to upgrade my computer bc the lag has gotten on my last nerve.

When I do come back to it tho I'll prob add a 5th acct and start 5boxing with my Prot pally Ellette and boost 4 boomkins for pve. I'll do all the heroics I want to, and of course, be able to go have fun with world pvp. Hopefully as the community gets to max lvl and begin doing arenas and Wintergrasp and such I'll start to get more inspired again :S *cough* Queue Aelli's arena vids!! *cough* But until everything falls into place money wise, I'll be leveling my solo toons to max level :)

Well I'm quite glad, I thought that the 5 shaman arena thing was too much and I'm glad that Blizzard have made stuff harder for boxers.

If something is not easy to box then that means it actually requires input from a human being, split level decisions and reactions that are what one aspect of fun in games are about.

Multiboxers aren't playing WoW the MMO, they're playing multiboxing the metagame, there are other metagamers out there too - botters, goldfarmers, account traders, and griefers, crying that your metagame is spoiled is like hearing botters complaining about being banned, it's all part of the metagame - even if you didn't know that you were playing!

This is not directed directly at the OP but at everyone on here: please stop with the QQ posts, this isn't the WoW forums for little kids, there's grownups here and grownups should have learnt to take the rough with the smooth.

That was really nice how you put boxers in the same 'meta-gamer' category as people that clearly are exploiting the game for profit, or living off of making others lives miserable (griefers).

It makes me respect you and listen closely to what you have to say, becuase, hey, I have never heard similar thoughts before.

If you wish to bring up meta games- at least mention twinks, and other legitimate playstyles or gameplay choices. If you like comparing boxers to botters, farmers, and account traders, you can gtfo imo.

I love boxing, but we have to realize that multiboxing wasn't how WoW was intended to be played. In all honesty I believe that the fact that it's even possible to multibox with success is a sign that a game is unchallenging in single-box mode.

I think WotLK has brought great options for single-boxers, although some of them has ruined the MB-part of the game. We need to keep in mind that the game isn't intended to be multiboxed - it's a unintended side-benefit we get. As such, changing game mechanics might benefit us in a positive or negative way, but being a minority in WoW, it's unlikely that anything will be changed for us specifically.

I don't mind - I still prefer raiding as a single-boxer and I don't care about PvP. Mostly I use boxing to challenge myself and to gear up new toons and have some innocent fun. As long as I can farm my 20 emblems per day without the unbearable pain that is PUG's, and raid when I have the time, I'm a happy camper :-)

Strand and Wintergrasp both seem great to me....I don't use vehicles in either and just run around destroying vehicles/turrets, seems to work great in my experience. Whenever I do pug WSG its fail, but rolling with guildmates/friends usually is fine just playing as a big zerg. AV i've always avoided, Horde on my BG just has a defeatists attitude about it so we never win. EOTS is good, AB is ok...

As for S5, im looking forward to it. I do think pally healer would be pretty sweet to have as the bubble would be huge with the level of burst damage out there right now (rogues doing 10k damage in 2 seconds) if you have a holy pally friend, I don't (they all rerolled or went ret long ago) so I'm going to be playing with either a disc priest or resto druid. For gear setup im stacking all stamina

1. You havent tried doing arena at ALL at 80, none of us have but still your able to tell us we have nearlo 0 chance?
2. Few classes can survive a burst due to the low amount of resillience in the game. I havent seen anyone survive my flameshock+lavaburst,Chain lightning combo.. (unless you try to burst down a DK with boneshield up)
3. There are changes comming and it will ALWAYS be unbalanced the first part of an expansion.

Calling people lucky cause they can do a 10 man instance? I will pug it since i bring both healers and a tank.. Im in a pvp guild and MAN they love people who is willing to tank.

YOU have to prove that your able to do the encounter then you will get invited over and over again, it works pretty much the same way if your playing 1 char.

Sorry if im beeing abit harsh but whats the problem with staying away from the things that your not good as a boxer? WSG,SOTA,vehicles?

Yes the guys who can raid with 25 or 10 mans in their guild are lucky. It gives them a leg up vs arena like I said above. It doesnt mean I am upset they have guilds that use them. I am actually happy there are some guilds that use boxers like that. My point was even though they will have a leg up with gear I feel arena is still going to be very hard to box. I agree if you can prove yourself to run an encounter people will take you again and again. However, trying to get a pug group to let you bring multiple characters is very very very hard to do.

I also agree to stay away from things that boxers are not good at. Again, that means SOTA which is pretty much the only BG queing right now. If I tried to stay away from SOTA or Wintersgrasp that means I will be waiting a long time for AV to que in order to get honor. Yesterday I kept checking on av and there was not even 1 game going the entire time I was online. So if I want to grind honor SOTA is the only option. I can do it but its very frustrating. The worse for me is starting split up or spawning split up from a death. Trying to get your group together in the middle of battle is tough. You end up not contributing much because you are constanly trying to move your guys around the battlefield.

I will keep plugging away and see how things turn out. This game is based on are you having fun. Right now boxing is 70% frustration 30% fun. Most of the frustration for me is due to the game mechanics that solo players dont see. It doesnt mean its hard it means its a pain in the ass. Overall the game is amazing if you consider solo play. I give bliz props for that.

I WTFPWN in SOTA. They made that and wintergrasp so OP for boxers.

Think about it. You can one shot a tank in SoTa. You are a wrecking ball that takes GYs, runs C4, and pwns turrets/tanks. Just juke them or wait for the right time to attack.

WinterGrasp = easy mode

The losing team has that super buff and if you get it omg look out. If they get then you pwn them while they cut down single players. It's all about timing, stick and move, stick and move. Don't just run in there like the rest of them.

A good player sits and waits for his time. A bad players runs in like the rest of the mob and does the rinse and repeat.

We have a lot of upcoming level 80 toons in the guild. Think it might work if we all try some 25 man raiding down the road?

Theres always something to pwn @ PvP, and multiboxers will always be there.

Tanks have 64k health I am curious how you 1 shot them. I usually try to take out tanks and turrets but its hard to take turrets out because the other one is pounding you in the process. When I kill a tank its a double edged sword. Usually a swarm of alliance spill out once it dies. I will keep trying new things. One thing that does help is rushing to the dock and fighting the alliance at the boat. However, when we spawn on the boats I am usually split from my other guys. As a result I spend a bunch of time trying to get back together. If you have any tips on how to avoid being owned by cannons and vehicles I am all ears. Moving around is good and it helps. But in all my battles there is still a swarm of alliance on foot making movement difficult. Between cannons and vehicles pounding my head and alliance swarms I find myself chain healing a bunch. If I can figure out a decent strat I will be the first to post it here.

The tanks have 50k in the BGs I am in.

I usually use cover to hide my guys. At the beginning of SoTa since I hide behind a rock where I know the tanks come by.

I am specced into ele and lavaburst. Tanks come in, get light up with 5 flameshocks, then lavaburst. If that does not kill them by that time they are close and then I just thunderstorm and they are always dead. If you can save the TS for when the guys hop out you are pure pwnage.

I also have the thunder capicitator on all my guys.

I play the game msotly mounted and when attacking the turrets I wait for a friendly tank to take the hits while i sneak in, pop BL and go to town on the first turret. FSx5 LBRx5, dead turret.

I use the tanks as a defensive wall. You will see entire groups attack a tank and leave you alone. Perfect time to get by and take a gy from them.

Sometimes I take the c4 and just 5 man it like a football team going up the middle. Drop earth binds, frost shock them all and TS!

Always dot up the healer and make sure to use searing totems. They hit for a lot and when it counts.

I find that the new added layers and challenges only makes wotlk that much more interesting for boxers.

I can't predict what will happen in s5, and yes SOTA and wintergrasp aren't the easiest to box. And basicly require a lot of vehicle training. Occulus as well.

But nothing, I repeat, nothing is impossible! It's just not as easy as in TBC.

I'm playing 4 ele shamans and I'm so far quite content with WotLK.

Definitely everything isn't easy mode and we all have to adapt, that is the entire process. Season 2 - 3 - 4, all the intervals required adaptation on my part and sticking with tried and true tactics changed. With Wrath those change drastically but I expect us to still be successful.
We are definitely the anti tank for WG / SOTA, which is the most important defense tool. We are a little sluggish for offense, but if coordinated and protect tanks, then we become invaluable.

Roger that. Playing one toon is way easier. I think it's ironic that people complain about boxers owning them, saying it's "ez mode" when the only reference they have is 1v5 in world pvp. Of course they're going to get owned, but no worse than if it was a group of 5 different players.

totally agree!

Single boxing is way harder. You have to wait for everyone else, and 80% of the time they're inept morons, not to mention how differently you have to play. You have to watch aggro and deal with others being stupid, and then you have to worry about how loot gets handed out. And that's on top of fiddling with abilites you never use. What do you mean, sap this, trap that? Can't we just kill it?

A friend whispered me to heal him, he allready had 3 dps and was tanking himself. Joined with one slave. Whiped on second boss in violet hold because the dpsers failed, horribly.
