From 2102 to 1890 in one night...

I know the end of Season 4 is over and I could really care less about rating but...

W T F ! is up with RET Pallies?????

if they dont hot fix this crap soon, Im rolling a quadbox. They do absolutely nothing special and my toons, each one of them, go from full health to zero in a matter of hundredths of a second.

Honestly I think the blizzard makes gear less necessary before they roll out an expansion so the majority of players can feel like they have a chance again and will buy their next product. Which Im all for, cause GOD knows I need people to beat but...if you dont think RET Pallies have broken the game explain why in the 2k 5v5 bracket I have NEVER seen more than 2 on Pallies (Holy and Ret) on one team, but in one week its impossible to beat any team and they all have 3-4 pallies per team.

Just dont see the point of resilience, gear, or skill for that matter. This Patch is clearly unbalanced at 70. I feel like im in the twink 19 bracket.

Very true there I go in to the BG's amd ive got a ret nub targeted *BANG * he bubbles then dps's me while still in bubble i cant out heal him atm due to the lack of health i go from 100% to 30% dead wtf

Lol :P some people have to much!! :) I played my friends ret paladin wich has S1 gear.. Well this was pre patch 3.0 and the rate that he destroy low resilliene targets is insane.

I got super lucky on my main team earlier in the week, we actually maintained our rating ( went 8-2 ) but we knew we got lucky in the teams and were smart enough to let up. This was only at 1800ish rating. I ran my games on my new orc team ( moderate gear 250ish resil should do ok plus they are only 1500ish) and we got DESCIMATED, the lag in arena right now is simply unplayable on the cyclone bg. Turning chars has a 4-5 sec delay which makes any melee nearly impossible to kill aside from a good nova+TS combo and I seem to have a 3-4 sec gcd as well. Add in the fact everyteam we fought had s3 or better shoulders ( ran into the good ole 5 ret pally team once ) and it was an absolute nightmare. I'm not touching arenas until the lag is fixed. Anyone else experiencing heavy lag in their arenas?

Did you not have any lag in your games elektric?

ret palas are fine for lvl 80, we got a REALLY high burst dmg for ppl at lvl 70... Im glad that my pala is gonna be prot in wotlk, cuz blizz will nerf ret like mad ...

I think that's why retadins are lashing out so violently to criticism. They're pissed because they've been underbalanced so long, and now Blizzard has gone and made them overbalanced at the one time where it doesn't matter and will guarantee that public outcry will be rampant enough for Blizz to justify nerfing them back to compensate. Then, after levelling to 80, where their damage was balanced, they'll be underpowered and unviable again.

They're getting one month to bask in glory before they go back to the daily "try to prove yourself 24/7" grind.

I'm actually theorycrafting to counter the retripalas.

Here's my current plan:

1. Get a priest healer with pain supression. Invaluable for surviving the burst.
2. Survive for a few seconds.
3. Have the priest mass dispell the bubbles.
4. One-shot most of the paladins with Novas + CL + TS.
5. Clean up.

Now.. one question: Is the primary dps from bubbled paladins from spells? They can be grounded right? Perfect grounding totem work should help with this situation, yes?

Pain supression is nice but theyll still drop the target. Theyre burst is insane and from my experience the equivalent of 4xShaman with EM+NS+CL up every 8 sec. They're real burst comes from the judging but they still do great melee damage. I tried treating them like a casting class with the grounding totems. Heres what haappened:

- They ate through 4 grounding totems in seconds.
- I stop healing (mind you Im spamming lesser healing) and drop totems.
- They drop my guy to <25%
- My pally heals him to 100% almsot immediately
- I start to cast and then they drop me almost immediately.
- They then continue to repeat the same process of destroying 431 resilience, 13k armor, with 12k HPs in less than a global cooldown.

I dont stop playing when I lose. I hate to admit defeat. But with a 60% bubble dispell resistance, 10k burst damage every 8 seconds from every pally. The only possible way to beat this set up is to get lucky.

So Paladins are balanced at 70...Shaman get balanced at 75...imagine how fast RET Pallies are going to level.

On the bright side, I cant wait to gear up my 70 Holy Paladin over the next week in RET gear. The guys beating me had greens on...and Ive been buying Scaled Veng all season long :D

I actually belive only holy shock and repentance can be absorbed by groundings.

Im not 100% sure but i cant remember seeing my HoJ beeing absorbed by a grounding..

I dont see why you would change your healer now when there is 3 weeks left untill the expansion and the talents isnt well balanced just yet.. You will most likley have to changehim again when you hit 80!

I went from 2100 to 1950 on the day of 3.0... its obvious its bugged and screwed atm so iv decided to just play my 10 games a week and get points until xpac... i did some kara/za for kicks ..... ooh ony is fun as well :)

Mostly to annoy the retripalas loling around at high rating. Would love to destroy some of these teams.

A ret paladin got 100% dispell protection on seals if he have specced Sanctified Seals wich most pvp ret paladins should have. And not to mention paladins got 30% general dispell protection trought Stoicism..

Its not impossible ofc but you certainly have a harder time then them!

this spell damage does not seem to be limited by lvl.

I have a good team of 69 hunters and 1 priest . We owned bgs before patch . Now 1-2 (mostly lvl 60)dins can kill whole team and live though my dps .

I smiled and started my 5 man paladin team at 60 (RAF)

can't beat them ( join them) :)

Definitely. I can handle alliance paladins easy, but not blood elves. Arcane Torrent seems slightly overpowered on a class with insane burst and invulnerability. No?

thats what makes me think about arenas as an e-sport, and what blizzard has been saying all this time... when suddenly a specific class and race can easily become so OP with only one patch. couldn't they see this comming ?
their so focused on wotlk, they couldnt even avoid this from happening, and the result now is, every single paladin team will rise ratings at will.

i laugh so hard when ppl blame multiboxing to ruin the game, when they are the ones playing these cookie cutter teams.

I've officially played a Ret Pally for /played "1 hour 3 minutes"

Top WSG kills and damage.

Let me remind those who think a nerf is incoming that warlocks where in the position Pallies are in now when BC came out.

yeah they nerfed warlocks because their Felgaurd alone was killing everyone not to mention their insane damage. Warlocks weren't hardly playable prior to BC. Then everyone and their grandma was rolling one and topping the BG damage and Kill charts.

So dont be surprised if this is Blizzards way of taking a class people laughed at, making them respectable by making them overly OP, and then nerfing them just enough were when you come up to one in the BG you lose, but you feel better about the encounter because you almost had em, or it was the "Jump" that lost it for you, or lastly "I need all my cooldowns and then their EZ mode."

The quadbox ret pally might be viable. Id have a tank, 2 dps, a healer and rez. Not to mention bubble. Leveling would be fun too. Anyone else up for it?
