is it possible to do a macro that would face the camera straight down? I would like a button for that for "minimizing" graphical lag in certain situations on the slaves.

Massive edit:
I just tested this and it works.
1. Set your camera angle to where you want it.
2. Use "/script SaveView(5)" (or whatever number you want to replace, 1-5).
3. Use "/script SetView(5)" to go to your new view.
4. If you ever want to reset the view back use "/script ResetView(5)"
I found the easiest way to do it is to set pre-defined camera views.
In the keybinding options menu bind one of your keys on all chars to saveview 1 and 2, then set view 1 to be facing at the ground (save it) and view 2 scrolled out a bit, but still facing the ground (save it). Then overwrite those binds and change them to setview 1 and 2.
It's easy to loot/talk to npcs/etc when you're cameras close to the char viewing top down.
Switch to a predefined view. The rotate the camera as you want.
Hm.. I think that should allow you to switch to something like a diaboII like pseudo-isometric view for the toons... esp. with that mod that allows you to zoom out pretty far from the toons. Will have to give this a try.
I'm having issues getting this working :(
I can get it to save and set view's fine but it will not save after I exit WoW. Is this a limitation or is there some other way around it?
It is happening on both my Vista and XP machines using either the /script command or binding keys to set/save in keybindings.
I'm having the same problem - always resets after I exit WoW.
This is new with the latest patch. It saved just fine before.
If you hit it twice it (used to, still should) snap to the view instantly rather than slowly pan to it.
The snap view thing still works but appears saving doesn't. I guess it is just since the patch which makes me feel a bit better because I could not work out wtf was going on.

Have people ever found a fix for this? I'm using angle down for my druids now as well but have to re-do it every time i startup wow, which is really annoying!Quote:

(and sorry for the thread necro, found this thread with search)
I use symlinks for my config.wtf files, and have all the angles in those. Then I set the files read-only so WoW can't change the angles. That's the only thing that seems to work for me.Quote:
