Racial Changes coming with WotLK
Sorry if someone had already posted it but I looked and hadn't noticed that someone had. Anyways, Alliance are basically getting buffed and Horde nerfed x.x Well, minus Trolls, they're about the only ones getting a buff. I was reading up on the WotlkWiki site and saw this on their front page.

More Patch 8905 Changes - 09/06/08

Changes to Racial Abilities

Orc:
- Hardiness now reduces the duration of stun effects by 15%
Troll:
- Racial Passive "The Voodoo Shuffle": Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%. Trolls be flippin' out mon!
- Berserking: no longer has an activation cost of energy/rage/etc
Draenei:
- Gift of the Naaru: now scales based on the higher of either the caster's Attack Power or Spell Power
- Shadow Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Shadow spells by 2%
Dwarf:
- Frost Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Frost spells by 2%
- Racial Passive "Mace Specialization": Expertise with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5.
Undead:
- Shadow Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Shadow spells by 1% (yes, this is lower than the other resistance racials)
- Will of the Forsaken: removes any fear, sleep, or charm effect (no longer has a lasting immunity).
Night Elf:
- Quickness: reduces the chance to be hit by melee or ranged attacks by 2%
- Nature Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Nature spells by 3%
Tauren:
- Endurance: now scales based on base health, to be tuned to approximately a 5% heath increase if the player were wearing green quality gear
- Nature Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Nature spells by 2%
Gnome:
- Escape Artist: the freeing effect can no longer be resisted
- Arcane Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Arcane spells by 2%
Blood Elf:
- Mana Tap: ability removed (partially integrated into Arcane Torrent)
- Arcane Torrent: restores 15 energy, 15 runic power, or 6% of mana to the Blood Elf (along with the current 2s silence effect)
- Magic resistance: (unknown, possibly reduces chance to be hit by all spell schools by 1%)
Human:
- Perception: changed to a passive, now grants one character level of passive stealth detection
- Racial "The Fall of Humanity": Feign death which may trick enemies into ignoring you. Any threat is restored versus enemies still in combat upon cancellation of this effect. 5min cooldown
- Racial Passive "Human Supremacy": The dominance of Humanity is evidenced by having one more racial bonus than normal. Actually, make that two counting this one. (just a tooltip, no actual functionality)
- The Human Spirit: spirit bonus lowered to 5%
So, what do you all think about this? I personally hope they don't do all these changes... but if they do I am seriously going to have to consider going back to Alliance :S

Blizzard nerfs far more than they do buff... it annoys the hell out of me.

Hardiness looks like it's getting nerfed to hell, Orc isn't so appealing now. That seems to be the only real horde nerf. WotF will have little change since it's mostly used as a reactive ability rather than preemptive. Trolls get a slight buff, Blood elves get a major buff, and Cows get their possibly OP health bonus nerfed before it becomes a problem when 20k-30k health becomes the norm.

I'd drop it at that, but then if you look at the third human racial it kind of makes Kalgan's statement seem a bit confusing.

I assume this changes were made to balance the arena..

Changes wont affect my shamans much but it will indeed hurt my orc warrior! Wotf would only work against warlock and warrior fear anyway in WOTLK since the priest pshy scream turns into horror effect (well the 4 first seconds)

Perception was hit hard as well.. 1 stealth level isnt much tbh (the stealth enchant on cloack grants you 1 stleath level and the engineer head gear gives you 1 level higher stealth detection.)

It should be removed from the damn game.

Pvp arguement:
Maybe they can nerf WOTF after they make some of the fearbombs that locks have share diminished returns. And while they're at it, they can make it so that damage that it has a chance to stop the fears like it is supposed to. For an example of how damage stops fears SHOULD work, see Priest Fear Bomb.

Pve arguement:
In all honesty, I hate how pvper's want the entire game balanced for them. Some folks are trying to use those same skills for pve. Think about that before you start to swing your own nerf hammer.

Not so much. It seems upscaling mana and mana regen is the new stam upscaling (TBC) for WotLK.

We went from 3k-5k(preBC) to 15k and a buffed raid tank is over 20k right now. It has to scale if damage is scaling. The only way they could stop the hitpoint increase is to add/increase defense modifiers and damage reducers.

How many people are wearing WotLK raiding gear and season 5 gear so far? Nobody is even into the first tier wotlk gear yet. What do you think is going to keep people alive when a season 5 or season 6 Titans grip 2hand dual wielding fury warrior smashes their face in? 10k hitpoints and 450 resil? no lol.

try lolknockback and the variety of new CC abilities, warriors will need the increased dps to remain effective

blizzard isn't going to go the stam route again so soon because the player community is still rather sensitive about it
but they'll definitely find a way to get you out of your old gear sooner rather than later
stam will still go up of course, but not to 20-30k

No, the list is only CHANGES. Not all racials. If they didnt change, they didnt get listed in that blue post.

Aside from fail of humanity and maybe some of the specific numbers I approve these changes. My approval is the most important part in anything so this means a lot.

I find it amusing the % resistances.
Nelf get 3% nature, Tauren get 2%?
Draenei 2% shadow, Undead 1% shadow?

Trolls get a buff, thank god they removed the cost to use Berserking
WotF used to get used for preemptive screams/howl. Now purely reactive
Not sure if the tauren one is a buff?
BE got nerfed. Removal of the mana drain, halving energy returned. On a class with 9k mana I assume it gives about the same mana back.

And from what I can see all alliance racials buffed?
Except humans inc spirit. and wtf ... feign death for humans with no threat wipe .. gg.

Yeah, considereing Humans already have the best racial of the game (Diplomacy +10% reps). When you think of it, Wow is really a reputation grindfest. 10% is huge; I just can't get myself to play a human though.
