free water
Cause I like mages.
4+ pom pyro is just fun.
Arcane explode all over people for that tingly feeling deep down.
I guess eventually i will roll some locs, but the mages are just too much fun.
Killed my 1st 70 at 45, Started oneshotting the bad ones by 60.
Why waste time on dots with warlocks when you can one shot someone with mages.
x4 mages can be so omgwtfpwn
i actually fought x4 mages in wsg once on my single hunter... guess how that went. It was in the 29 bracket and my hunter was twinked to the max... STV gun and all... and the mages where just in really good gear. So odd as it is for a hunter... i needed to los them.
Post above mentioned the arcane explosion x4... ouch that is the memory. The mage didn't seem to be that good, but would spam AE a bunch and would really lay the smack down with it. They had a bit of a lag time switching if you killed the main. Not hard to figure out as they were all gnome and were snap, crackle, pop, and cereal master. If cereal master was not the main may have worked better. They were spelled a bit different but that was the basic idea.
Mages seem like such huge win with all the fun for them with a group. One reason i didn't do it is because i have really enjoyed the play i have had with a mage single (hunter too) some of the dynamic stuff i have been able to do with hunter and mage in single i haven't been able to do as well with mages or hunters in boxing set up... could be my learning curve. Blink seems like it could be a problem with boxing mages. Ice block seems awesome... whoever is getting focused IB and the rest pwn.
I would/and have still rolled locks. Locks don't have to be facing the opponent to target them which is a huge win. They have limited but still somewhat viable healing capabilities. Los issues are not as big a deal for them. having 12 dots on you in the space of 3 sec is really still omgwtfpwn. You still have good cc with locks... but fear does seem like peeps have more counters for it than for the freezes of mages.
One of my concerns with locks in high end is how much resilience affecting dots really hurts them... and then how much they get hurt from not getting any buff from crit or haste ratings. Really hurts me in my special place that crit and haste seem to be becoming such a big deal and blizz has not found a way to make them work for afflic locks.
This is assuming you mean afflic locks... i would say though... it is not the same as mages to have x4 destro locks but it would be quite fun and may play a bit like four mages for the burst damage. In wotlk destro looks really interesting. So with locks you may be able to respec to get the feel of both a bit.
Living bomb will be a lot more fun than Seed of Corruption in BG's, and blastwave will have a knockback effect making it even better than Thunderstorm. Mages look fun, fragile as hell, but fun.
4 Shamans! :P
Mages are fun...but a bit too squishy.
Come Wrath, 4 2min Mages or the Power of the Four Elemental(ists)
Funny, everyone who has posted has said mages, but the poll is a dead heat at this point with 12 responses.
Locks can't be bothered to post? People who play mages feel the need to be heard?
Odd... :whistling:
I say locks. Nothing like spamming your DoT button while hitting tab. You can DoT up everyone in your area in a matter of seconds even if you are not facing them. Hell you never have to stop moving to DoT everyone up and when you die your still killing people. :D
I have 3 mages and 3 pom pyros is nice. They die easy though. Locks would be nice dotting and running but the OMGWTF PWND Pom Pyros is just priceless.
I didn't vote cause there's no option for both. Thats what im gonna do. I already got my mages and priest to 59, and am doing 5 locks for now, and at 21 im gonna sub out 2 for a pre existing paladin/priest. I want the paladin/priest at 31 so i can just gift them the rest of their levels to 60, then ill either take the 21 locks and tag boost em with the 3 31 locks. I was thinking about doing healer (i plan on having all 4 healing class/spec) and 3 locks and an spriest. Unless wrath nerfs spriest/lock synergy. Of course, its always nice to have a backup healer in the spriest, and backup rez. That also lets me experiment with warrior/druid tanking, and still have a regular rezzer.
4 mages is really fun. Plus for those crazy moments, spamming arcane explosion while attempting to regroup has saved me a couple times. Fear bombs suck, and only having one removal (fear ward on priest) seems like a liability. Ill try a resto shaman later, and see how one tremor totem works in that situation. With locks, fear bombs go both ways :)
Well, really depends on how you want to play them I guess. There are advantages and disadvantages of both. If you are thinking warlocks because of the dots, be aware that people can heal through dots - no matter how many you have. I discovered that very quick - I'd throw up 15 dots on one guy and his healer would dispell and heal right through it all. Of course it had to be a pretty good healer who wasn't dotted up himself. Given a ton of spell damage is may be more viable, with 4-5 locks or priests you could get to where each tick was about 1/3 of their life or more. Of course there is always destruction spec for warlocks, but you unfortunately can't re-use the gear (dreadweave has no crit on it at all).
Mages have to kite because they are so soft. One of your main ways to do that is with blink.. I guess you could blink the whole group at once
I usually dot the healer and then drain main x5 his face off. Gives me a good laugh to imagine wtf he's thinking with 5 drain manas on him as he spam heals his mana away.Quote:

after playing 5 level 70 mages and 5 level 70 shaman i would say go with shaman. mages are tons of fun. free food, ports the world is yours for the taking.
level 70 instances are basicaly all out of the question. 5 sheeps are nice. but if you mess up just once. you have to deal with runnin 1 or more toons back from the graveyard
its a crazy time sink. AV hella fun. taking back towers is easy. down side is your hella squishy. having no heals or rezzes makes it no fun for you
aoe farming is way easy btw. only problem is you run out of mobs or there is one or 2 other people farming there aswell killing your aoe pulls
zak
haha nice.. I gotta try that. sounds like a great way to annoy people as a multiboxer. I think I'll spec into imp mana burn on my priests as wellQuote:
