[WoW] WOTLK content to come in early patch in the coming weeks

I guess they will be pushing out content early. Contents of post:

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We�ll post the full patch notes as soon as they�re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

Awesome news and much sooner than I expected. Didn't the Burning Crusade stuff come out only about a month before the expansion?

By release, they mean onto the test server. It likely won't hit live for 2+ months, just like 2.0.3 was on the test server for a long time.

I'm betting we see WOTLK a week after Blizzcon and this patch a month before that.

Time to get all alts to 70 :D

I'm betting Blizzcon will double as WotLK launch party 8) Ok maybe not, but it wont be long after im sure.

The XP cut from 60-70 is already in on Beta server, from what I've heard.

Awesome! I've been praying for a headstart on this.. would suck to get all the new content of WotLK then have to go farm out a shit-ton of herbs and such.

Farm now, young Jedi - for it will suck to go and farm after Inscription is released, no matter if it's with WotLK or in the pre-patch.

Actually had totally forgotten that they did this pre-BC. Gave a bunch of perks, and then the expansion hit. Quite a good plan, although, not even level 70 yet on my new toons. :thumbdown: lol

What I'm more anxious to find out if they'll be put in the 3.0.x content patch is:

1. Removal of spell downranking
2. Spellpower changes (and the melee/spell hit/crit/haste combines)
3. Achievements?!?!?!!

Not to rain on the parade, but it's not coming in weeks to live. Spells aren't all in game, much less in the beta. It's coming to the PTR in the coming weeks, but won't be to live for at least 2 months (1 month till PTR and 1 month till live) at the earliest. One of the devs, Tigole, confirmed this, but be damned if I can find his post now.

I am relieved by this. I think the xpack is coming out way to early as it is :D
