Heroic Magister's - Vexallus

Has anyone been able to down Vexallus in heroic since 2.4.3? I'm dropping all totems (tow) 30yds away, lightning shield, run up basically under him, drop earth elementals, run back about 20yds proceed to nuke down to 85, hit orb macro and keep repeating until about 14% when all earth elementals die and he comes after me and im dead. I had him down many times before the last patch. Do I need more spell damage unbuffed? 850+totem of the void at the moment. any other tips or a way to incorporate the kill orbs macro into my main nuking macro (using focus main) so I don't stop dps to nuke orbs?

Are you blowing heroism/bloodlust? Going all-out dps then switching one or two shaman to spamming chain heal ~20% should work.

The orbs do AE damage, have you tried staggering your earth elementals instead of dropping them all at once?

ya im blowing heroism. im not going all out dps simply because too many orbs spawn and are unmanageable. though i have tried full out dps. only 5 shocks with 5.6sec cooldowns cant kill more than basically 4 at a time. I tried staggering earth totems as well but it didn't help much because when i drop them all, they bounce aggro. when i stagger them, he basically 2shots them. /cry

I 4 man him on my shammies (not trying to brag, just stating that my tactic works 8| )
The clue is to NOT run up and place the EEs, they will die way to fast :(
In general i pull from max range, getting him to 85% just before he reaches my boys. (if you die at 14% then congrats, you got your last 14% right there)
When he spawns pure energy he stops, buying me another 2 seconds, so 1LB then i drop my EEs, then calmly press "4" two times DO NOT PRESS TO FAST (/stopcasting /tar pure energy /cast earthshock on round robin)
From there in its a DPS race, only stopping for a heal once or twice through the figth. At 25% stop to heal before the last push to get him down.

Using the "slow" tactic with a tank generally means i go OOM from healing before 25% and going full DPS usually means suicide.
I dont think i have time for HC MGT tonight, but if i get the time, ill fraps it ;)

hehe, i always pull, max the dps before the mobs come to you = win... multiboxing crowdcontrol= dead mobs ;)

That sounds like a very good plan, but I just can't pull it off with my 4 shamans. You guys mind frapsing it ? I wanna see how the hell you manage to do it.

I got full pvp epix, almost 900 unbuffed spelldamage(+void), so gear shouldn't be the problem. I always wipe between 8%-14%(I guess it depends how much luck I got with crits).

The reasons why I wipe is 1)I do too slow dps and my earth ele totems get killed by Vexallus, Vexallus then comes after me and I die OR

2)My dps is too high, causing adds spawn too rapidly, I can't kill them fast enough with a round robin earth shocking

There's a video on youtube how some french boxer 5 mans him with ele shamans....he goes just all out dps on Vexallus, only 2 of the totems die...how the fffu is that possible ? I tried go all out dps with a mage/lock, we got him only to like 30%, then the adds raped us. The only reason I come up with is that the video was done long before Vexallus buffs or something ??

I can't even get him down on normal :(

What setup are you running ? Kael on normal is pretty much all out nuke, atleast if you run all shaman group. I down Kael on normal with my shitty skills by just going all out nuke, he dies at the moment he casts the gravity spell.

These were the huge difference for me a fellow multiboxer suggested-

Arcanoweave Vestments BUY THEM, USE THEM, LOVE THEM :) Loss of DPS doesn't matter as much as not having to heal once.
