Keyclone randomly stopping broadcasts

I installed keyclone, set up my macros, and got everything running today. But after a while i noticed that randomly, keyclone would stop sending "2" to my second slave client.

Example

When i first run keyclone:

Main shaman presses "2" for lightning bolt
Client 2 presses "2"
client 3 presses "2"

After a few minutes:
Main shaman presses "2" for lightning bolt
client 3 presses "2"
Client 2 stands there like an idiot...

The only way to fix it is to restart keyclone, which is impossible because even after you close keyclone, you still get the "another copy is already running" if you try to run it again.

i dont know about your issue, but regarding the "another copy is already running" it's because when you close keyclone, it actually only minimizes itself, and resides in the system tray (icons in the bottom right corner, near the clock. Clicking on that icon will allow you to reopen it or close it

G'morning Rokins and welcome to the forums!

your other character might not fire if it has not received the target yet or it is still targeting a dead target.
there is a bit of latency between selecting, hitting assist (if you are using this step) and your alts getting the information.
if you hit the '2' numerous times, does it start firing a second or so later? (if so... definite network latency)

if this is not the case, please let me know.

Thanks, but actually I tried that, and every time I try to double-click it while its in the toolbar it never re-opens T_T.

And to Keyclone:

When I checked the clone's screen, it did indeed have the correct target, but for some reason the attack command was not being passed to him. After a while of reopening and closing windows, it worked again, so I do not know if this will happen again =/.

Also, any word on the inability to re-open keyclone once its in the toolbar?

another thought.. are you on vista? did you 'run as' admin by right-clicking the keyclone short cut and 'run as' admin?

as for the tool tray getting 'stuck'... that happens on some machines when you close keyclone with the X in the upper right.

solution: don't click the X... instead, exit keyclone by right clicking the tool tray icon and selecting 'exit'

there is an alpha you could test and it may resolve this issue (tough to test as i don't get this problem)

:!: be aware... once the official v1.8l comes out, you'll have to remember to update your local copy

Thanks, ill try that out. Ill let you know tonight if the whole "stopping broadcasts" happens again. If it does I dont know how ill fix it =/.

yup, just did it again.

My 3 characters are

Roknis -Main
Rotkis -2nd
Rokins -3rd

When I cast LB on Roknis, it will go through to Rokins, but not Rotkis. This can be fixed by minimizing the Roknis window and opening the Rotkis window and fiddling with the mouse, but I shouldnt have to do that every time this happens =/.

Yup, my comp can run 3 clients at the same time and still hold 55-60 fps on the main client, so I chose to do that instead of investing in 2 new machines.

Update: This just happened again and when it did I happened to pop over to the other client to see that Roknis was targeting the correct mob, but for some reason there were lots of "invalid target" messages, even though the target was at full health. This might be why LB wasn't casting, but I do not know why..

Update2 : My assist/lightning bolt/whatever im using macro seems to stop broadcasting after traveling large distances as well.....

Ok now this is starting to aggrevate me.

Heres the scenario.

Ill run with my 3 shaman to the barrens to do a quest, but a mob will aggro onto me. I think "No problem"

I use my assist macro to target myself so that all of my clones will target me as well and heal me.

I cast a heal and the only one that heals me is myself, all of my clones heal themselves.

When I check to see who they are targeting...its me, but for some reason they arent casting their heals on me.

I minimize the main window and open and minimize the other 2 windows, and everything works fine for a few minutes, and then its back to where we started.

This is the same for practically every spell that matters (heals, lightning bolt), because for some reason all of the spells that dont matter (melee as elemental) work...

ok.. this is not a keyclone problem, but a wow macro/targeting problem.

the 'invalid target' message means that clone is pointing at the wrong target .. this could happen if his focus isn't correct or his /assist macro is not correct

check those and let me know if you find anything

Right now im using a simple /assist Roknis macro, which seems to work after I do the whole minimize and maximize thing, but stops working after a while.

Not sure why /assist Roknis would stop working, but what other assist macro would you recommend?

Assist Name1 will only target Name1's TARGET, so if in combat usually a mob. If they then target the mob they can't heal it and an option somewhere makes you heal yourself if you are targeting a mob and cast a heal. So you need to either have a /target NAME# to heal the actual person or if you do /focus MAIN to make your main the focus target you can then make another macro and do /target focus /cast HEALNAME.

Thanks, any suggestions for targeting macros to solve my other problem?
