Leveling Speed, or: best way to level?

I'm still pretty new to multiboxing. Started only 8 days ago. So far I have my 5x shaman squad up to level 30 (woo woo!). From 1 to 20 I leveled at Azuremyst and Bloodmyst isles, and now I'm paying people gold to run me through SM cath many many times. Right now, at 30, I have 1d7h /played.

After I ding 40 I'm going to stop doing SM (possibly before then). How fast does a level usually take at that level when questing? I may try to get ZF runs, but I've had bad experiences with that in the past-- its really tough to find an competent skilled runner.

So I guess I'm asking, whats the best way to level 40+?

Why not just pay someone to play the game for you? I have never payed for a run, but what do you hope to gain by getting run through places? There is something to learn about how to pull, what to do about adds, who/when to heal, assisting, etc. If you are 70, but can't do crap what did you really gain? It takes time to learn how to work in a group and your alts are a group. You might learn that you want to learn a certain weapon skill cause it helps when mobs are magic immune. What happens when mobs are nature immune, what is your plan for that? What about ones that AOE instead of just normal cast (AOE doesn't get eaten by grounding totem)? What if you learn you want more spirit on your gear since you cast a lot? You learn how to play by playing. If you don't want to learn how to play, just go grind mobs and you won't have to ask anything here.

I have 2x 70s. It doesn't take me 5 days of play time to learn the basics. I won't be instancing with others since I've got a full party of 5 chars, and it is not likely I will try raiding with them.

When I need to learn those things I will learn them. Why do you care if it happens at lvl 20 or lvl 60? Leveling weapon skills takes very little time. My primary goal is getting them to 70 so I can begin the gear up and PvP. Yes, I enjoy PvP more than PvE. I also derive satisfaction out of finding the fastest way to level. Questing is okay, but really it is the leveling I enjoy.

Honestly I probably was asking for this type of response... I should've just searched the forums for information as I am sure several of these threads already exist. I was hoping for a more narrowed response however, from people who have progressed passed my level range in what they found was most effective.

P.S. You actually profit from paying someone to run you through. I pay 30g/run for SM cath. The DEs from the bosses alone are worth about 27 gold. Silk/silver/greens are at least 5g a run (more most likely) and every few runs a blue BOE will drop which is another 50g or so.

Boosting is the fastest with 4xlowbies + 1x70

Questing is quite quick at level 45+
Running instances with your 5 characters depends on how fast you can clear an instance. If it takes you 20-30 minutes to run an instance, u should go with instances. If longer you should stick with quests.

As I said, I'll be PvPing mostly. I may try running heroics with them, but mainly it'll be PvP.

Download a questing mod, and follow it - they're pretty good, the free ones, anyway.




I've heard the Zygor mod and guides are very, very efficient, but they cost money - $50, which is a bit much IMHO. (I'd pay $20, but not $50)


I don't have a problem with you paying for instance runs, everyone does it, do what you want *legally*. it's one way of leveling your toons, and it's pretty silly to criticize a multiboxer for doing something out of the ordinary. :) If you can get ZF runs, go for it - I know on my server Tanaris chat is always full of people looking for ZF runs.
