Jamba needs you!

Hey,

In case you don't know, I'm the developer of Jamba. If you don't know what Jamba is, stop reading now.

I have dropped my day job in favour of spending my time developing my own intellectual property to sell. One of the consequences of this, is no regular income. I'm looking to cut costs and 3x WoW a month is a luxury that can be cut. A year ago, I dropped down to triple boxing from five boxing as three toons is the minimum I need to develop and test Jamba.

A few really nice people have made the effort to make a donation towards Jamba. Thanks! I have been using this money to pay for my WoW accounts. I can continue to do this, if I keep getting donations. See where this is going? With the money I have from donations I can pay my WoW subs up until the middle of August.

So my proposal is to you, the Jamba user and fan; next time you buy a Keyclone license or pay your ISBoxer/GameCommanderPro/WoW subscription fee, consider donating a small amount to Jamba and hopefully if a few of you do that, I'll be able to play past August (and I might hack on Jamba some more as well...)

Jamba will be two years old in August (I started writing in August 2008, was released 4th Sept 2008)!

BTW, I like Jamba, I am reasonably active on these forums and I think I have done a decent job of maintaining Jamba so far. If I end up leaving WoW, I'll be back as soon as my income picks up again.

Also re: Jamba features, someone in the Jamba thread suggested a bounty for features, so if someone wants to start a discussion along those lines, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

1) you have done an amazing job for the wow boxing community, many of use can't imagine boxing without jamba. hats off to you. I just hope you had some fun along all the hours of coding & bug fixing :)

2) some people (like myself) are not a big fan of donating money. I will give a present rather than money for a birthday for example. In the past I've donated hardware parts to open source projects rather than making a paypal donation. It's just a personal preference, not really based on objective reasons.

If your goal is to use the donated money to extend your wow subscription, then how about the idea we can get you a free month of gametime? If anyone is starting (over), he/she might give you a whisper. You invite them and with the RAF you get a month for free. Another option might be that all 'old school' boxers who took a break set you as the ... (insert proper english word - the guy who invites you to reactive their account). I can imagine that when a few ppl do this, your gametime will stack fast.

Just an idea :)
