Computer Died
Finally bit the dust. I think it is the video card, as when booting windows there are 2 blue verticle bars and it will not boot other then safe mode. Been giving me trouble for monthes but it was play WoW or fix the computer. No contest. For now I have to do something. Fix old one, build new one (parts are sitting in front room, or load WoW on a laptop.
Does anyone use a 7600? I have one sitting ing the spare parts pile that might fill in for now.
Oh well, see soon :(

Sorry to hear that brah. :( I'm sure you could play on 7600 but I wouldn't expect there'd be much fun in multiboxing on it. It'd be a temp fix until you could get some current replacement parts. :)
-
That is what I was thinking, just to get it working enough to fix and solo for a bit. I might get a 260 to stick in it but I got all the new goodies sitting there.

All the new goodies? Elaborate!
-
if it boots into safe mode you could try re installing the graphics card..

I tried to go back to last safe settings, and I tried to upgrade the driver through Windows, both were same result and said it was the latest driver. I went to nVidia site and got newest driver (April 2010) and it does the same things. Blue bars and only boot in safe mode with default video setting (800x600)?

completeley uninstall the drivers. reboot and reinstall. you could try re-seating the card as well... just a few suggestions.
-
also does the spare card make it work? thats one way to test if the original card is burned
-
I tried everything on the old card.
Put in the 7600 and it works, had to re-do the display and such but it is working with both monitors, the corrrect resolutions and orientation.
I was looking at new cards, and they do not seem to make the GeForce 260 any longer. What is the new "260"?

update
I broke down and got a 250 1gb, $126 delevered.
Loaded up, reset the driver settings and off it went. 2 toons have been fine, no lag or jerkiness.
Will try to load up 5 toons this weekend, need to update all the software. (IS/Jamba)
