Ok here it is i have win7 64 bit home premium. My ?? is, is there a problem with win 7 that would be causing restarts randomly and freezing, Even just letting computer idle it will freeze and restart. In order for me to comeback to wow i need to fix this one issue. Any help is great.
None that I have ever heard of.
Sounds like your computer is overheating.
If its not due to overheating, try running with 1 and 1 ram stick (in case one is faulty) or reinstall windows and everything else.
tell us a little more about the PC.
what size power supply, what kindd of video card, what kind of case?
a weak power supply can sometimes cause this too.
I have an Antec 900 case and it has so many fans nothing ever gets hot in it.
Step 1:
- Start --> right-click "Computer" --> Properties
- On the left side of the system properties window, click Advanced System Settings
- On the Advanced tab, click the Settings button in the "Startup and Recovery" box towards the bottom.
- Uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart"
- Set the dropdown to Kernel Dump
- Click OK in all the dialogs to exit out and you'll probably have to restart the system.
- Next time it craps out on you, it should just hang at a blue screen showing a STOP code. Paste the info from the blue screen in a reply here and we can probably make some progress.
- If it does not blue screen but just reboots, then it is likely a hardware failure due to overheating or something else very bad.

i7 asues mx motherboard or however its spelt ( sorry at work just going by mem )
12 gb memory
Nvidia 250gts graphics card
850w supply
5 fans as well
and obv. win7 home premium
Have you tried running memtest86 or Prime95 to stress the RAM and gotten successful results overnight? If not, run those. Any errors in the logs for those usually indicate memory timing/speed issues or bad hardware.
My Antec Nine Hundred Two had a bad wire (short) from the case Reset switch to the motherboard that caused it to randomly reboot. Unplugging it from the mb fixed my problem. Just something else to consider.
I had something slightly similar with the win7 RC before I had to shell out for a retail version of home premium. Maybe problem was I had not paired the RAMs (2 x 1gb, 2 x 2gb) together properly as the motherboard colour-coding was REALLY misleading/rubbish. In the end I replaced the 2 x 1gb with 2x2 giving me 8 and paired them properly. No crashes in 3 months.
