For a better overview - would it make sense to convert the thread into Wiki pages per instance ?
Of course but the whole point of a Wiki is that anyone can edit it - so go to town :)
I've added a Wiki Entry for Heroic Gun'Drak - was planning on eventually doing it for all heroics I've run just haven't had time.
Many attempts to compensate for my lack of skills, but thanks to Alemi's post I finally snagged heroic Oculus today - yay! Thanks for the great writeup.Quote:

Instance: Hall of Lightning (normal)
Box: Protecting Warrior, Arcane Mage, Survival Hunter, Elemental Shaman, Restoration Druid
Gear level: lvl 80 Warrior in mostly epic gear, lvl 80 shaman with some epics, lvl 78 hunter/druid/mage with mostly blues
Difficulty: Easy once I figured out the tactics
Guide:
General Bjarngrim / Ionar
Check here for tactics.
Volkhan
Ignoring the additional spawned mobs made the fight a lot easier. Just like on heroic.
I put down a fire resistance totem, but I'm not sure if it helps.
Loken
Position with /follow like this: [dps+healer] -> [tank] -> [boss]
Sequence:
1) Run to the boss and align so all your characters (including the tank) face in the same direction. Make sure you can either strafe left OR right far enough to be able to avoid Lightning Nova.
2) When Lightning Nova is being cast by the boss, make sure that your strafe keys are broadcast to all characters and start strafing away from the boss.
3) After Lightning Nova, remove strafe broadcasting, press your /follow macro key and repeat from 1)
About healing:
The most important is AoE healing: druid AoE HoT + shaman healing stream totem kept the healing of the part members at 100% almost all the time.
The tank needed a little extra healing sometimes.
Knocked out CoS Heroic with my main team tonight. I enjoyed this instance. A couple long corpse runs when i messed up a pull. I did this blind (no strats, no video) until the last boss. Still had to figure out a workable strat because i am not as nimble as Haachoo.
Instance: Culling of Stratholme (HEROIC)
Box: Prot Pally, Resto Shaman, Elemental Shaman *3
Gear level: Gear Ranking around 3000 on all 5
Difficulty: Have to conserve mana on Healer or the speed of the Arthas Royal Escort you cannot keep up
Guide:
Mage Boss -- Grounding Totem .. DPS .. Grounding Totem .. DPS ... Easy
Last Boss -- Setup your DPS and Healer in a row (like haachoo's video), put up Shadow Aura, but do this before you trigger the event. Run in with Arthas, Keep the boss facing away from the DPS and Healer. Trigger Heroism, and Earth Elementals, kick his butt.
Got the Royal Crest the first try.

The novos tactic at WotLK heroics and tactics compilation thread does not work anymore. Adds spawn in masses and they wipe you.
FYI Grounding totem absorbs like 90% of the abilities of the last boss, including the sleep and mind flay or whatever it is. Just keep dropping masses of grounding totems and the last boss will hardly touch you :)Quote:

Instance: The Nexus
Box: Protection Warrior(epic gear), Resto Druid(crap gear), Arcane Mage(+- 10 epics), Elemental Shaman(+-10 epics?), Survival Hunter(a few epics).
Difficulty: medium
Grand Magus Telestra
The main tricks are:
- Do as much AoE healing as possible to keep everyone at 100% HP as good as you can.
- Put down frost/fire resistance totem when the frost/fire adds spawn.
- When Telestra comes back, spread out your toons as fast as possible again(as in: separate your slaves from your tank), because of the AoE fire damage on your tank. This means you do NOT stop running until your toons are positioned again and ready to DPS.
The rest is tank and spank and healing is the key.
Ormorok the Tree-Shaper
The previously mentioned tactic(to stand ON him to avoid the spikes) did not work (repeatedly) for me. I alwas had to move characters or they would get hit.
If you look at the videos on youtube, you'll see that he always places spake in the shape of an X, which means that his left and right side are safe. Because of that I put my group to his left/right side(all standing on top of each other) and Ormorok faces my tank. That looks like:
AnomalusCode:[adds] <-- 15yrd+ ---> [Ormorok]
/|\
|
[Tank]
Kill the Rifts quickly, that's the key. Sometimes he spawns 2 rifts quickly after each other, so do not wait to attack them.
Keristrasza
The key to this (for me) was positioning. I would always wipe on the first attack, because my AoE healing wouldn't manage to get to my group members. The ideal positioning for me is exactly the same as on Ormorok. Put a Frost Resistance totem down! AoE healing is the key and you jump to remove the debuff. If you have another hybrid in your team besides your healer, his healing will probably be welcome too.
