I suggest you check through WOWBOX40 history before you go defending their honor.
Edit
I don't farm.

I buy the majority of the expansions with battlenet balance. And when one characters subscripion lapses, i can reactivate it by paying with ingame gold at the character select screen. So i play "totally free". And will for many years to come.
I guess i could stop farming, but its a kinda relaxing side activity while im reading books after work. Doing some studying at the university, so i can apply for a more cushy and better paid officejob in the near future.
I dont believe this to be true. I have pretty regular dialoge with gamemasters and they have always been very friendly towards me, even cheerfull. There has never been any sign of them not wanting me to do what im doing. Im pretty sure they would let me know if things where to be otherwise. On the other hand, it appear their automated systems do investigate me once in awhile, maybe based on player rapports. When "warden", the anticheat software doesnt find anything on my computers, it seem to do other tests to try see if im actually behind the keyboard. And it probably does this towards all/any players, if rapported. But thats fine ofcourse.
Also, i play on some of the largest realms and back in legion there were maaaaany multiboxers farming. Im pretty sure i know about almost every inch of bfa and ive only seen 2 other multiboxers (one 5man stand still farmer and one 10 druid herb collector), thats it. I guess the others got banned or quitted ? :p
Also, people that do join in on the farming randomly are very thankfull and there is loot for everyone.
Back in MoP, I mboxed raid-content and had GMs porting me around making sure I wasn't doing anything 'shady'.
In WoD I had my 20m roaming gank squad where I would camp towns, cities etc. GMs would talk to me, watch, laugh and also thank me for only camping one area for 15-30 minutes and leaving for a while so as to not truly disrupt gameplay for others (I also played on a server where there was no horde.. max level it was split 1200ish for horde and 78,400ish for alliance).
In Legion I was Perma-banned for standstill farming, I nearly lost everything. Mostly because they said I was involved with RMT and I defended myself based on that-- which wasn't what they banned me for. Was quickly reversed when I found out what the real issue and sorted it out.
In BFA I decided to pretty much stay in constant contact with 'Blizzard' by way of online tickets. Anytime I do something 'suspicious' they are aware of it before I even do it. During the black friday sales I spent 65m gold+ and bought a crazy amount of items, pets, gamekeys, mounts (etc) and had huuuuuge giveaways. Did all sorts of crazy server events for fun. I literally sent my entire setup with a recording of how it operates which they thanked me for.
If 'they' don't want you doing something they will break it. If you find a way around it they will hotfix it.
'They' personally called Malseph and asked him to stop 'something' he was doing that they didn't like (Malseph is a decent boxer, PVP and stomps BGs).
The 'spirit' of the game is what you make of it and I feel it's quite informative when boxers talk about (legal-ToS) things they do that might involve a GM because it can look suss. The game evolves. The players do too. Things that didn't exist 2 years ago now do. I dunno.
Every single time they find your standstill AoE farming area they nerf it, that certainly seems like they don't want you to doing it. They let you because you're not botting.
Though if they really didn't want you to they could just add diminishing returns to the loot. Like every time you attack a certain mob the loot reduced 1% and increased 1% attacking a different type mob or different area.
I would love having tons of gold, but I have some social anxiety and cant handle the stress of it, I would rather hide and not be noticed. Other people box for gold advantage I box so I don't have to play with others.
They nerf the farming spots when they become popular via Youtube. Most of those (BFA) aren't even 'stand-still', the players are active and running around.
People still 'stand-still' farm that place in Nagrand for sumptuous fur/leather haha.
Who knows what Blizzard use to decide if an area is too good or not.
