Yeah same, im gonna chill on my server if its just gonna be a pvp guild.

I don't see why you say it won't work :).
I also forgot to mention that GIMP is not exclusively for multiboxers.
There are (gladly) single account players that do PvE and/or PvP. Rated BGs must in my opinion count also on several single account players to really work.
I am a former PvE 10 boxer and for several reasons not worth mentioning here I'd rather do PvP now. Maybe I wasn't clear enough on my previous post but nothing stops multiboxers from the guild (and I'm sure many will) to raid. I'm just saying that you should not expect the guild to schedule/organize raids but feel free to do so.
Anyhow, we're already 6 multiboxers, some dual boxers and some single accs so there'll be plenty of things to do with all kinds of people in the guild.
As far as my personal experience goes it's not really "possible" to focus both aspects of the game, take both seriously and perform well in both. It requires a lot of time which most of us don't have.
There's always one main path and then all the rest the game has to offer. I just said that GIMP main path is currently PvP.
Even people with single accounts I don't know a single guild that is both hardcore pvp and pve and I believe for the exact same reason and I know a few that tried it, failed and disbanded. Again, not saying there isn't just that I don't know any.
Hello all =)
What Altsoba said is all correct =)
I can add that we (Gimp) are more a community guild than anything else. We have done both pve raids and arenas/bgs, and up until now it has been working great=) meaning we have ppl that want to do both, and my experience is that most ppl want to continue this. Right now, its pvp that is our focus tho.
For me personally and Gimp, community guild are the way to go. Several reasons for this. First, wow players tend to change goals as they go. Pve raids, pvp raids, doing random acheivements and battleground/arenas are all fun, but to have a guild that commit to make premades and pve raids on a reguar basis seems to not last. Its just hard finding the ppl that want to be in charge of "getting it all togheter". That said, we have/and have had several great raid leaders and pvp players that made a huge effort, and we got alot of fun out of it. But irl and changed goals ingame, make it difficult to have this 24/7 all year round, year after year. Ofc, when we get a member that want to make and effort and make pve raids etc, we accept with joy, and ppl join, but when the same player no longer wants to be in charge, we still love him/her :p This is diffferent for a "normal" guild i guess. If u play 1 char u probably want to farm and prepare for raids 6 days a week. Most boxers have several things to do tho, i have notices we tend to be "altaholics" and want a piece of what we can have, not exclude anything.
Commiting to people is easy tho =) I think we (boxers and others in Gimp) has been lucky to find other players with same interests to have fun with. So we will probably continue to do what we do atm, and now we even have a few new ppl that are leveling their team, welcome! Btw, Gimp are not a boxing only guild, we want mature/friendly ppl, if u play 1 or 10 chars dosent really matter =)
This beeing said. Its not nessecary to be in the same guild to have fun togheter. If more ppl transfer here, make their own guild, or join another, we can still hf as a group! Ironforge should not feel safe when the current boxers ding 80 either :D
As mentioned before, all boxers and their healers/friends are welcome to Gimp. Im sure all of u have lots of experience and are exellent boxers :D I feel obligated to say tho, that we are not a guild that boost ppl in instances, help with group quests or give gold "all the time". Dont get me wrong, we like to help eachother, but to rescue ppl that dont make the effort to solve their own problems, are not something that most ppl like having around. I have never experienced to not get help when needed tho, we have some great players =)
As Altsoba said, Grim Batol/Misery are not an easy battlegroup. We have a huge amount of active great pvp players so arenas here are probably harder than elsewhere. There are several good pve guilds here aswell, but if they are boxer friendly, i dont know. One of the big pve guilds have a boxer, but i dont know if he even boxed in raids or just joined with his main. ...oh and since its alot of people here auction house are well stocked, tho prices are high so prepare to farm daylies on your team to get gold if u move here :p
Sry for a bit messy post, and sorry for my typos :D Im w8ting for next WG when im writing this, farming gear on my shaman girls as usual :p
I think a bunch of multiboxers in the same guild will work great - I'm really missing that aspect of the game right now. Reading Altsobas post might give the wrong impression - that it's only 4+1 etc. I don't think that's what he meant.
As for me, I'm both PvE and PvP. Ideally I'd like to do 5-man when new content patches go in, 10- or 25-man raids once once in a while and PvP on top of that. I'm not counting on getting 2k rating anytime soon, but a focused rated BG team would be great, as long as there's still room for the more casual player (which in terms of PvP includes me, hehe).
One question for the Grim Batol people though - you mention that PvP competition is fierce and that there's "only" on 2k'er, but as far as I know, there's only about 4 multiboxers above 2k total, so I'm not sure that's a bad thing? I mean, fierce compared to what? :-)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining for sure!
im sure alot of us will do pve, such as my self, i do both sides thank bliz for dual spec, GIMP is the get together forming point for us right now to be at a central place to start off.
progression as like you said through cata is something alot of us would want to do im very sure of it ( moving to grim) or ones who are already there, if we form another Guild like i said later on still got a little while yet we can organise pve and pvp.
im already boosting my new team, were 20 already.
message us in game and join the guild for starting off point so we got a communiton channel :)
my toons are:
Funkinbubble dk
Funklnbubble pala
Funkinbubbel pala
Funkinbubbje pala
Funkinbubbel pala
love to see everyone together
Hehe we should all hit the lowbie BGs and cause havoc - I will not be playing seriously until next week though RL sux :(
No, don't get me wrong :) the 4+1 thing is one strategy as any other one 2+2+1 does the same as any other comp is possible too :) So far we're just theory crafting.
Regarding the BG, oc Beatriz is to praise to get that rating here. And I can only compare to what I see in arena s7 multiboxing videos around. And of all I've seen, teams from the same rating as those shown don't play like that. They're much more aggressive, use much more cc and los than what we see there. Now, cannot say that those videos represent the average or not. And it's more the fact that no other boxer reached 1.8k besides the 2k+ from Beatriz that makes me say that too. Or maybe we're all underskilled of course which is good since it means we have lots of possible improvement ahead of us ;).
As I have almost 0 pvp expirence and Im fairly slow to level, im considering waiting with a transfer of my toons until they are lvl 80 so I don't get ganked and "waste" time.... what do you think?
It sounds very interesting with the guild setup. I don't know if ill be mostly PvE orientated or PvP as I haven't explored the possibilities.
