Right now to me it's looking like D3 just because of the 2/2 rune showings in the splash plus the fact that using it to announce the beta would be announcing an announcement that has already been announced.
Hmmm....This reminds me of the marketing ploy on the Simpsons with the Galbo doll in one of the later seasons. Super limited information yet everyone was super intrigued by wtf it could possibly be and everyone speculating w/o really having much to go on :)
Anyways has any ever thought that perhaps it could be a combining of Warcraft and Diablo universes? I mean after Arthas dies wtf are we going to be going after next? Other than the spirit of sargeras there aren't really any other major figures that would pose a major threat to Azeroth, Kil'jaden if I understand correctly was the most powerful of Sargeras' dreadlords after Archimonde died. /shurg who knows just a thought.
I've never played Diablo, Warcraft or Starcraft so don't know anything about those but I notice that the splash is not only on the blizzard site but also on the worldofwarcraft site. My bet is it's WotLK related because it's on the worldofwarcraft site too.
I just thought of something. They should totallly do this again in the future. Put up some vague picture of a WOW looking hammer. Give people a week or two to speculate its meaning. Then when they are ready, drop that Banhammer on all the botters and gold sellers. lol
Blizzard puts company related news on Worldofwarcraft.com all the time. Starcraft 2 was also announced on the site, as well as RL events like the up coming WWI (which has the immage of Starcraft 2, Arthas, and a diablo figure who i don't know :whistling: ) so of course no matter what it is it's going to be wherever blizzard can put it makes sense doesn't it?Quote:

Well thats exactly my point though...there's a TON of new directions that WoW can take after Arthas is dead, not no directions. However there really is no real obvious direction that the lore would take wow after Arthas. So if something like this was to ever take place, the merging of two universes, it would be a good time to introduce such a thing imo. As far as the Titans are concerned they are else where in the universe oblivious to the burning crusade on azeroth at least as far as the lore suggests...Quote:

This may seem like kind of a stretch at first lorewise, but when you sit back and think about it, it would kind of make sense in some ways and even explain a few things. On another thought it could also allow blizzard to add in a new route for the game to take as well as give it the perfect time to upgrade graphics and such that WoW will one day need. Meh...maybe it is kind of a large stretch but who knows I guess we will see in the weeks to come.
