this worked well for me... pally, priest, 3xshammy grp

I just have 2 shamans drop earth elemental, since they are immune to the poison, and novas, and aren't targets for the arcane bombs. They hold aggro pretty well since you don't do a ton of damage with all the moving. I run 5 shamans, so I just have all of them GW and run away during the bombs and pursuit parts. Drop a nature resist totem to boot and most of it is pretty simple.
Anyway good luck
This is my strategy for ick and krick ( tank, 3 ele 1 resto
first of all spread out the shamans at least 2 spaces apart, tots down + poison resistance
second begin, burst him down should get him down to 40-50% by time he starts his next ability:
1. if he does persuit, immediately run to your shamans and go off with them to avoid him, after he will nova so keep back.
2. if he puts poison on your shaman, just heal using lhw not chain heal/ heals faster. (more time to dps)
3. arcane barrage, MOVE YOUR BUTT get ur team to follow tank around him. move dont stop your your clones will die from the tanks explosion.
rinse and repeat, the key here is to MOVE quickly as possible before its too late. delays will kill off your clones.
having low dps will also cripple you, if you are struggling alot then my advice is to gear up from instances you can do first. abit silly trying to do an instance thats too tough with low dps. get all vendor gear first.
Finally downed this boss last night, and he dropped the stupid robe :( , I wanted the tanking trinket.
I wiped a couple of times before this and finally got lucky as my healer got pursued and died :( but I burned him down before he could wipe me. I took the tactic of trying to burn him as fast as possible on the first attack and then after that keep out of the puddles when he dropped them, I have no shammys and so no resist on them.
Something that did annoy me was that her reset twice when I was running away, even though I really tried to keep within his area, not really sure why he reset.
The pursuit is the most frustrating part for me still. I hope I can start to down this guy a little more reglarly to get my trinket but at present he is still pretty tough :(
Can't say how many times i've tried this, and still to no avail so far. On normal mode i can burn him down before he starts to throw bombs, i just heal through the puddles without moving. But on heroic i screw up time after time.
- My team should be doing enough dps to kill the boss (i pull 5k+ quite often against single target hc bosses).
- My gear should be more than enough to run this place.
- Most other dance encounters were never much of a problem.
- I run a pally tank with 3 ele shammies & a resto shaman.
- I pop down 3x nature resistance totems, staggered.
The tactic that worked best so far is parking my guys on top of eachother at the entrance to the left side ( those bone things), pull ick and blow all cooldowns at the beginning. Strafe right when he throws puddles. When he start to cast the bombs, strafe my team alts to the left while i run back to them. And this is pretty much where dps ends for me. I start to run like a mofo and try to cast dot's, but either a bomb kills my team or he starts the pursuit. He seems to run faster than my team, so it means he instantly kills 1 guy. The closest i cam was to around 150k hp left, when only my tank was still alive. Bubbled up and could bring him down solo to around 40k. But 9 out of 10 times my team is dead at around 200k hp.
Thing is, even though I have dbm enabled, i don't seem to know/see/understand when i can restart with dps"ing.
Now it must be a walk in the park with a pick up group, but i want to clear every hc on myself first. Stubborn i know, and it leads to lots of frustration sometimes. Still that's what i want to achieve. I won't start with HoR heroic farming before i've cleared this place either.
Anyway, i've read and read and read to find a working tactic. So i'd like to ask again for a working tactic, maybe more indepth / detail. Or a video where a pally 4 shaman team clears it (while the pursuit target ain't the tank).
ty in advance :)
When I used my paladin + 4 shamans, I was never able to burst him down. Took me 4min 50 seconds to kill him. So if you can't burst him down, just run around, in large circles. All shamans on follow your paladin. Earth shield + riptide on your paladin. Flame shock + lava burst for DPS. Only use them when you are safe. Cast 1 spell. Then on the move again. 80% of the time, you will be on the move, due to those pursuit, explosion, poison nova, and poison on the ground. But that's ok. there is no enrage anyway. As long as you watch out for Poison Nova, you should be fine. Keep dpsing here and there when you are not pressured by those 4 things. It shouldn't be too hard.
Plan your routes ahead of the time, if you do get cornered during a pursuit. Use BOP. If you get cornered again after that, as long as it is not the restore shaman. You are ok. Let the DPS die. you can still kill him.
more on the poison nova, if you only cast 1 spell, then move. No way he gets you with that since you are always on the move.
Some things I've learned is sometimes you have to do something extra to give you the edge over some bosses.
You said your biggest problem is Ick outrunning you. Go grab the enchant think it's Tuskarr's vitality one of those that increase run speed to boots.
With that being said anyone have a strategy for a Pally tank and 4 druids?? 3 Boomkins and 1 resto.
No totems here =(
Tried that already, also using the speed potion (forgot exact name), it buys me more time, but result is the same. It's just that i don't have the mechanics in my fingers. Tried a couple of other times tonight, haha and i really need to give up on this boss. It's getting too spooky :P
Maybe i need to spend some time redoing my interface to get more clear dbm warnings.
Play with sound on. He shouts out what he's going to be doing. And he should not be able to outrun you.
I have had problems on this guy too, I run pally, 2 locks, hunter and resto druid. As said many times in the thread, you gotta dps him in small chunks. My biggest issue with this guy has been running a little too far and have him reset.
I have no idea how he can be outrunning you?
The poision nova he does is the most dangerous followed by his pursuit if he goes after the healer (this is where I have often had him reset). Other than this, the mines are simple enough.
For the time I have downed him it has been the start of the fight which made the difference. I normally park my team at the crate/box on the left hand side, then move them each time they get poision thrown on them, this way you can burn him pretty fast for a long period before he goes to mine, pursuit or nova your team.
The druid helps a lot in this fight with his mobile healing.
I have done this fight with pugs and it is stupid easy with a PuG
