Scouting services available...
I live 7 miles from the center and basically drive through the area every day coming home from work. That being said, I just moved to the area and don't actually know what's good or bad there. However, I am willing to re-route my drive home from work to scout a spot for parking and accessibility if anyone has any specific places to check out.
I get mixed reports from others on the Downtown Disney thing and I have been there once. It's got a bunch off major chain restaurants in there (house of blues, espn zone, rainforest cafe). The first 3 hours of parking are free, and you can get validated for another 2 hours at any of the sit down restaurants. After that it's $6/hr. It is sometimes crammed full of tourists, but Thursday night may not be so bad. I met an out of town friend there once and it seemed a little busy, and I parked at his hotel and walked over.
One of the guys at work here also mentioned the Anaheim walk area, but wasn't pushing it and he had to go before i could get any details about parking. I haven't been there myself, but it looks to be even easier to locate, being straight up the road from the convention center. ( as opposed to the complexities of making a single left turn to get to downtown disney ;) )
I just wish the whole ticket debacle had gone better, then I'd actually be going _in_ to blizzcon myself.
