Sure you could do it that way as well. In the example you linked it specifically states for moving closer to quest NPCs or FlightMasters, where you would all of your slaves to use this.

right makes sense was just worried about toons not melee attacking i guess that wouldbe done in ftl dps keys to have them not move instead of in these.
Thanks for the help much appreciated.
Many thanks for this thread.
I've been using ISBoxer for a few weeks and this has helped me out no end.
Why is this not sticky?
Yeah seriously, this is gold.
I've been trying to follow the instructions for getting IS/ISBoxer to recognize the G keys on a G15 keyboard recognized, but I don't seem to be having any luck. You say:
For the first part, where you say "run the software as an administrator" - which software? ISBoxer? The profiler software? Remove the macros, toggles, repeat options etc. from where? ISBoxer? The profiler? I assume you mean the profiler software. What I see when I run something called the "Key Profiler" when I launch it is: a dropdown for the default configuration (with an option for WoW) and all keys are unassigned. I never bothered setting up anything with the keyboard when I got it, so I guess it's in its default configuration?Quote:
If you want the G-Keys to run as they did prior to IS Boxer, run the software as an administrator.
To integrate the G-keys into your IS Boxer macro's (have them as hotkeys for Keymaps), you need to run the software, removing all macro's, toggles, repeat options etc. Have a clean interface.
Then with InnerSpace running, start the Profiler software and close it. All the mapping will already be gone from the G15/G11 in the future, so this will be a fast process.
For the second part, I have IS running, and ISBoxer's configuration app running, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say "run the profiler software" - do you mean just run the "Key Profiler"? Okay, I've launched it, it pops up the screen showing that all the keys are unassigned, and now if I just close it that doesn't seem to do anything...
When I try to run the ISBoxer configuration software, it doesn't acknowledge any of the G keys when I press them.
I'm probably being dumb, but I could really use some clarification. Thanks!
Edit: Got in IS chat with Ualaa and it seems to work now! I was just being dumb. The secret is that you have to scroll down to find the G keys in the keypress list, rather than just hit them to assign them like usual.
If I may suggest one other edit - specify that "clean interface" means "keys show up as unassigned" - when I first tried it, I set the bindings to "default" which wound up making them equivalent to F1 etc. I had to completely disable them in profiler to make sure they worked.
On that note, here's a helpful hint for G-series users. In the Logitech G-series Key Profiler software, go to Edit, All G-keys, Disable.
Note that any time you unplug your device (including power off), the Logitech device will reset to hardware defaults. You will need to run the Logitech Profiler software to load your settings back into the hardware! (and then close it again)
When I boot my computer:
I start the Inner Space, then once it is running start the Profiler software.
Then use Control Shift Escape, for Task Manager and End the LGDCore.exe process.
After that my G-Keys work fine, with any of the mapped keys I've configured.
Hey thanks man for all ur help, I said u were my refferer.
Thank you.
I want your profile.
Srsly tho, I wonder if its worth anyones time to upload a profile, have a review of the problem, and point out in the profile where and what needs to be changed.
most people learn by one of the 4 major sense. I can read, do, even say it aloud, but seeing someone do it, then let me repeat it would be the cherry on top.
A lot of people in need of help with their setup come to the ISBoxer chat room and usually speak directly to Lax [or
someone else with a hint of his knowledge] there. If he, or someone else, needs to see your profile they'll tell you to share
it, and steps on how to do it.
Forewarning though, while people are usually always around in the chat room, there are times when it can be pretty quiet.
That doesn't mean that someone won't eventually come around to answer your question(s), but it also means that you
shouldn't storm out of there in some nerd rage tantrum when your question doesn't get answered for awhile (which
people do from time to time.) The easiest way to go about things is just come in there, ask your question and wait. I'd
suggest to just open the chat room in another window and just let it sit there and keep checking back every once in awhile.
Many thanks for this great guide. I'm new to ISBoxer and it has helped me tons... :)
I have a question about Example J - Managing Eclipse Procs:
What about if I have a group of Druids in a hybrid team? I've set all the specific druid stuff but when I get to config the default FTL DPS 1 key (to all the other non-druid toons IN THE SAME TEAM), how I target them?
Is there a way to say 'all except the druids' or do I have to create a group 'NoDruid' and include all the other toons?
Thanks
/cheer
The Eclipse procs specifically can now be managed entirely within a single macro which will take you all the way to one end of the spectrum and then all the way back. So no need to manage anything at all.
As far as the example goes... If you want to apply the technique to something else.
You can target by:
- Slot number (Good for something that applies to every team you have).
- Character Name (Good for something that applies to only this character).
- Action Target Group (Good for something that applies to multiple characters).
- Current Window or Slave Windows (Window: All Without Current).
With multiple toons on the team, I would probably go with an Action Target Group.
Maybe make one with all the Druids in it.
And make another with all of the non-Druids in it.
Then you can use either as the target.
For the proc in particular...
We have two different mapped keys, which are both called by the spammed key.
One is on, and one is off.
And then a toggle which activates one, deactivates the other, and on the next step does the reverse.
The toggle can apply to one character only, as per the example in the guide... with a toggle per character to individually manage the ability.
But you could have the toggle apply to an entire group (Action Target Group) instead... maybe having Healers who have both a DPS mapped key and a Heal mapped key within the spam key that the entire team spams, and a toggle to switch between them for Healing or DPS mode.
Yea, I see. It's definitly a method to explore to many different things. Just tested it by creating a non-druid group to the remain toons and it worked pefectly.
Thanks so much \o/
p.s. with ISBoxer 38 (due within a couple weeks) you WILL be able to target everything but the druids, without making an extra ATG :)
I am thinking about buying ISBoxer for my melee group since Keyclone can't send IWT when i press a key. I find Keyclone really, really easy to setup but ISBoxer sounds really complicated.
How can a slave target the same target that i have when it doesn't use any macro or anything? Like /target or /assist? Can anyone explain it?
IS Boxer has an addon in the background, which does a bunch of things for you.
As long as the addon is enabled on all toons, and everyone has unique modifiers for FTL (which the wizard does for you automatically), it will work out.
When I push a given key, the Toolkit might show this procedure:
- Hotkey: 1
- One Step
a) FTL Assist Me
b) Send 1 to all windows.
The FTL Assist Me, is something the addon does.
It will send F11 to all windows, but add the FTL modifiers for that character.
Which tells all of the others, the Assist Me originated from this specific window.
So the assist me should act like an /assist thatspecifictoon command.
You can use Alt, Shift, Ctrl etc modifiers freely elsewhere in your set up.
You just don't want to tie those to the specific few keys IS Boxer uses for FTL functions.
I believe these are F11, F12 and backslash.
I use "1" and "Alt + 1", along with several Alt + Key, Shift + Key and Ctrl + Key commands as hotkeys.
The FTL Modifiers don't get in the way of those keys working.
There is a quick start guide.
Basically, run the wizard and you're set for a basic configuration.
Most of the examples in this guide, run you through changing things in specific ways.
While many of the features are standard to IS Boxer now, the examples are still good in that they show how something works and understanding that lets you customize to your hearts content.
The IRC, isboxer.com forums and this forum will get you a lot of support too.
The basic set up is quick and easy.
Excellent guide, I just signed up under your link for ISBoxer, now onto installing it all and getting it working.
Thanks for your contribution.
