The LFR is pretty crazy, as DPS i have been able to just buy the lvl 377 pvp gear off the AH, and then queue up, and faceroll to epics. Silly, Silly game lol. But, free epics means /whatever for now :D
@mokoi: I basically did the same thing. I crafted 5 x 377 items to get to queue in my quest greens/blues for the new heroics. Grabbed what ever would boost my iLevel and had caster stats (cloth, leather, mail) and after doing the quest lines plus the 3 instances went straight into the LFR. And the sad thing is I still did more damage than some of the dreaded "single-boxers" that are staight up hacking the game... nothing like upgrading 318 green legs to T13 legs... too easy to get gear and be competitive if you pay attention. I will be back in LFR again this weekend with all 5 of my shammies this time as elementals.
I might also try a group of 2 resto shammies in some LFR. Figure do a /focus cast@focus macro for ES, riptide, HW and then CH for each tank... should be fun.
actually I was thinking that, as well. but I was thinking 2x resto druids, and 2x shaman for the tank heals, PLUS the AOE heals on rotations, and then spot heals on idiots who need it. Basically, the other two healers would be in charge of raid heals, while you look after the tanks, and use your AOE whenever it's available. Especially in LFR, with the appropriate gear, you control better the outcome of the whole raid..
BUT that being said.. it's a LOT easier to just go boomkins and ele and DPS / faceroll to epics, as well. BUT it takes longer to find a raid, but that's why they invented weights, so i can justify my time away from my computer to work out.
All in all, LFR is fun, and when all my toons have the gear to join, you just have to do it once per team (MAYBE one night a week) and then the rest for PvP - Fun and you are done :)
I got 26 of my toons through LFR the first week without buying any PvP gear to increase their item level. It is great fun.
Personally, I made sure my guys were properly gemmed/enchanted/hit capped before queueing up. My DPS was definitely competitive, typically having the 6th, 9th, 11th, 12th highest DPS if I took four toons. Not uber, but far from the worst.
I'd feel a bit bad about having the 18th highest DPS in a raid, getting completely carried, and sucking up loot. Seems to add to all the "moron-ity" that we all complain about. I know that I don't like it when I see guys doing 10K or less DPS. I suppose that if the raids aren't wiping due to low DPS, it might be OK to just buy 377 PvP gear and bring in some scrub toons with crap gear. I just hate to add to the "boxers suck" mentality that many people have. Then again, I tend to want to be an ambassador for good for our little community :)
Anyway, doing these LFRs with guildies is absolutely fabulous. It is a lot of fun to be able to see the raid content and raid as a guild. It is an easy way to get a lot of us geared up so we can consider doing "real" raid content togehter. Great stepping stone and one of the best things Blizzard has ever done. Kudos Blizz!
Apologies for my first post (that got removed apparently), which turned out to be an exploit (got fixed meanwhile). Given the massive scale I didn't even think it being an exploit (as in I didn't even realize it). Got an 8 day ban for that, which is well deserved in the end. Lucky me I felt it coming and account transferred the particular toon to one I no longer use, so my main isn't affected (I progress raid on 2 different toons with 2 different guilds). Hope no one else was so stupid to try it out and got a ban. If so, sincere apology!
To be honest I don't think that bans were warranted in this situation, they should just have removed the gear.
Just did the 4 bosses on my 4 DKs in full PvP gear and was top 3-10ish on DPS on all bosses, this is to easy !! :)
