If it's red, it's dead.
This attitude enables me to handle being ganked without batting an eyelid (it's a game ;) ). Today my team got ganked by a skull level hunter in STV, meh, I rezzed starting questing again and promptly got ganked by the same guy, so I rezzed again and kept on trucking. In thousand needles my pally and mage were hunted down and killed by a 47 hunter, I didn't think I had a chance so just let him get on with it. Later on the mirage raceway another 47 hunter ganked us (pally and mage) again, I put up a fight and managed to get him to about 40% health before I died, my thoughts on that are : you fail hunter lol letting a 39 Prot pally take you down so far. But I bare him no grudge and I have no KoS list. I've played on some rather nasty ganking realms, Tichondrius, Jubei'Thos and Barthilas. Hillsbrad is simply a no go zone on all of these. You get used to it and payback the other faction whenever you can but without mailce, I very rarely camp and only when they're particularly obnoxious.
I used to have one rule, never gank on an escort quest, then TBC came out and on my first escort quest I was ganked...twice. Now it's open slather for me.
I think what a lot of people forget is that Warcraft has the word War in it.
Need to add... that slowly, I'm moving over to the Red==Dead. While I was typing the previous post, I was getting corpse camped by a 70 Rogue and 70 Warlock. 1 hour later, still getting camped...Quote:

I started off (single player) on a pvp server with some friends, my first character was a resto druid, second a holy paladin... I was definately the gankee not the ganker. I once logged in my druid to go on a killing spree after being wasted on an alt, found a lowbie and then though 'na, why upset them just because someone upset me?'
The only time I killed people at an unfair advantage was if they were doing something unfair (e.g. killing npcs/quest givers or rooftop camping lowbies), but this seems to be mostly on pve where I play now. There was a hunter using eyes of the beast to run his pet into darkshore and eat unfortunate lowbies, I had a lot of fun when I found him (hiding out in the water) and got a nice frostbolt off at him when he couldn't see me, shame is he didn't come back after that :(
Another time I got my priest pvp flagged trying to hand in a quest before someone killed the npc, a little while later I was fighting a mob and a hunter attacked me and I kill him and the mob. Then he ressed and attacked me again while I was fighting - dead hunter again. Then he ressed and ran away with AotC on :P
Fair fights are too few and far between for my liking, which is why I play one pve servers. There's still occasional scope for pvp encounters, but without being camped by level 60s (now 70s).
My rules of engagement:
- Don't attack unless attacked or they are on KOS list.
- Don't attack anyone who is known to camp for hours, and will get revenge on my main (holy priest).
- Large groups of allies watching me will die as soon as someone stealths, buffs, dismounts, or summons a pet.
- Anyone visible while doing the group Simon daily dies.
- While leveling, skulls are fair game.
How to get on the KOS list:
- You're a male night elf hunter (camped if your name is a variant of XXlegolasXX420).
- You're a male dwarf that uses /dance /lol too much.
- You've ganked me while levelling.
- You've forced me to kill you too many times.
- Your guild contains too many of the above.
Sometimes I like to follow people and make them sweat. Wind up some soul fires and cancel at the last second. Most of them keep their cool. Once in a while someone will get nervous and attacks which gives me the go ahead to kill them. Also, I don't consider it first attack if you toss 5x Seed of Corruption on a mob they are close to :D .
It all depends on my mood. If I'm angry I will kill anything and everything, I might even decide to ruin someones day (at least until they log off). I've got an extremely short fuse sometimes, and believe it or not this brings me back into a good mood. If I'm happy I will sometimes decide to roleplay with the opposite party, doing some emotes and stuff. Good example of this is the other day I was doing alot of AV's. A mixture of afk-botting raid leaders, completely useless and retarded raid leaders, raid leaders out to ruin my day, losing to premades etc, made me want to rip something apart. So in one game vs a Stormscale premade I decided to do nothing but defend. I managed to hold them off at the bridge to the alliance base for about 1 hour and 20 minutes before our reinforcements were out, one after one of their premade leaving the BG. We barely lost in the end (WHO THE FUCK CAME UP WITH THE REINFORCEMENT IDEA ANYWAY? RETARDS!) but knowing that I delayed their usual 10-minute steamrolling games to almost a one and a half hour grind made me really happy. Knowing that many of their premade team quit the bg, and that they were arguing amongst themselves and spamming yells at me made me ecstatic. It was alot better than winning. Basically ruining their evening made mine.
I chose play defensively.
For one, it is usually solo targets I run accross. 5vs1 is not really a huge challange. I am at a point where I can kill 70's quite easily now (at 66/67) and if they make any kind of aggresive move towards me I will kill them first.
However if I see a group of people I run in and attack because people are more cocky in groups and experience has shown me they will all attack me regardless.
If you shit people off too much, they tend to bring groups of 70's to hunt you and this just slows down your own levelling.
You guys convinced me to never ever roll on a pvp server. ever.
Damn :/ I love PvP servers, always something fun happening. If anything I would try to convince you to roll on one, but to each his own. Not everyone likes the world PvP'sQuote:

I really never do much unless attacked. However it's getting more and more tempting every day to just KoS every player considering the way they always try to get the jump on me after following me around for a while.
