Something I might suggest is a moratorium on intel between fights, so no forum posts, video, IRC, killmail, whatever until things are over or you'll just have guys stacking resists/capabilities to target whoever the next fight is.

Everyone will already be in the wormhole with no way to change fittings.

heh, just remembering a goonfleet frigate tourney that I entered, it was a free for all with no restrictions. people had decked out insane ships worth ridiculous amounts. i had my 13 frigates with moderate equipment, probably about 10 million each. we all warped to a location and a smart bombing party pooping BS warped with us and obliterated nearly everyone. Hundreds of ships gone in a couple moments though it took about 10 minutes for my overviews to catch up with what had happened. i lost all my ships and had no spares so it was a bust for me but still pretty hilarious.
so be careful for suicide gankers and dont clump up :)
we'll be running it inside our C1 WH, so shouldn't happen lol
Sounds like an interesting idea though......:)
Wow, happy to see this hasn't gone off already.
I'd be willing to join, i've never 3-boxed pvp before. (i don't count structure bashes since that's not much to coordinate)
I've also got some little faction goodies i could donate as prizes.
Announcements coming shortly!! Get to work on those setups! :D
Ok, I've been playing with some ideas and have found one that will give us the ability to have the tourney in hisec while still having the ability to use broadcasts. This setup comes with a requirement!
EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNEY MUST HAVE LEADERSHIP 2 TRAINED ON ONE OF THEIR TOONS!
Let me repeat that:
EVERYONE who wants to be in this 3v3 needs to train leadership 2 on one of the toons they will be bringing. This will be your squad leader and will allow you to have a 4 man squad (but you only need 3 for this tourney). I will be fleeting the current fighting teams up with Baton who can support multiple squadrons and each team will be given his own squadron. At that point it is a simple matter of clicking a few buttons to be able to only broadcast targets to your group. I'll throw up some screenshots of this at a later time so no one can claim ignorance, and we will be testing to make sure you aren't broadcasting to the whole fleet before the fight starts.
With that said, the tourney WILL be in hisec at a secret location (no party crashers please). The location will only be given to those in the tourney and will not be given out until the day of the tourney (frigates fly fast...even 20 jumps isn't that far ;) ).
I'm tentatively looking at the weekend of May 20-22 as the dates. Everyone please post availability for those three days (I know we have some euro's who want to play, so keep them in mind US folks and vice versa). Post your available times in EVE time so we're all on the same page.
I will try to do some form of color commentary (most likely on vent if I can borrow Souca's for us to use or if someone has one that we can use) for each fight so everyone can stay interested and have something to entertaining to laugh at between fights ;)
Everyone who comes to the tourney will be parked in a safe spot and not allowed to go back to the station to change anything once they have come into the system. Failure to abide by any rules means automatic expulsion from the tourney as well as never being invited to join in any other multiboxing events. I will be scanning ships to ensure correct modules are being used (and no rigs), so everyone read the rules again and ask questions if you aren't sure about a certain fit or whatever.
Will there be a way for a winner to replace a ship somehow for use in a later round?
It will rapidly be come a 1v1 fest (or 3 on 2) otherwise. Maybe just record the fits for each team member and allow getting the exact same setup as replacement, if you win but suffer losses?
Or are the rounds going to be so far apart that you can just reselect 3 entirely different ships based on the first experience?
As for eve times, I could be available:
20th - 2100 - 0500
21st - 1400 - 0500
22nd - 1400 - 0400
I was debating this. What do you guys think? 3 fresh ships for each round would mean having to go back to a station and pick up the ones you've lost, but recording the fits would mean you couldn't change fittings once everything started. The only downfall is the added cost for those without much funds. I'm willing to play it either way. At the most there would be 3 fights for one person (using a bracket system), so assuming you only survived with one ship each round that would require 7 ships total. Is everyone ok with that, or would you prefer to go for the "bring 3 and fight with what's left each round" setup?
