And there we are - quite a surprising result. I'd always thought that Keyclone was the leader but clearly the poll shows that the top 3 are ISBoxer/HotKeyNet/Keyclone in that order all within a couple of votes. 77 people voted which is great, thanks very much. I think 77 votes is a reasonable indicator from the community. I would have thought that GameCommanderPro would have had more votes but there you go.
I think that it can determined from the results that there is no clear preferred option for this type of software at the moment.
and the subtext of the poll if it wasn't obvious was: am I using the preferred solution? The answer is: I'm using one of the top 3, am comfortable in the solution, there's no glaring disparity in the user base which indicates that the other solutions aren't offering that much more, so no need to change at present.
I would like to repoll this in 6 months to gauge the trend.
Thanks to everyone who voted :)
The number of people who voted != the number of user - its a tiny fraction of each user base... so it's more of a popularity contest amongst motivated people than anything else you can draw any conclusions about
you can say that about any poll, market research or election for that matter. We have them and they have value because the polled, however tiny a fraction of the population they are, give a reasonable indication of the choices made by the whole whether motivated to poll or not.
No, meaningful opinion polls are "representative", this sample here is not only too small but also self selected thus biased - still fun but not comparable with a real poll
I own Keyclone and have a IS subscription. I am still using KC atm but will probably move away to IS soon - the PiP swapping literally gets me killed in PvP.
I also intend to make a 5x Warlock team at some point so the mouse broadcasting will be pro.
I'll vote KC for now though - a little disappointed this doesn't seem to get the updates that IS does - however I am probably asking alot for my $20 US.
Moorea you confuse me more and more every day. It is a real poll that got the real result that provides the real person with the information he was looking for. A poll is designed to provide answers to questions about a particular topic of interest with a wide variety of "correct" answers. Our active community is here is not terribly large, you aren't going to see a poll with 10000 results, so let him deduce what he can from the information gathered.
I was interested to see that all 3 of the big names were so close, GCP is kinda new but I think it would be interesting to see where it stands in the community in 6 months. I think it would be fun to see how many people have switched from one program to another, or use any 2 of them in combination. The poll would literally just ask if you switched or not, not the names of the solution switched to or from to avoid the I'm right you're wrong arguments.
Thanks for posting the poll Simulacra it was suprisingly close.
