Never having to start from level 1 again? I have a few teams, but a guild mate of mine leveled up: 5xPaladin, 5xHunter, 5xLock, 5xDruid, 5xShamen. My RAF ended 2 days before the XPAC and his was 2-3 days after. So we didn't lose any time getting to Northrend by having more teams. Also, it's very rewarding if you're a goal-oriented person to challenge yourself to get all the teams you are hoping for in the given time frame (3 months).

Why would I ever start from level 1 again? My main account has one of every single class between 60 and 80. My other 4 accounts will never need anything other than shaman as they will always (I don't care what anyone says - always) be viable as DPS or healing, so for PvE and PvP I will never need anything other than those 4 on my alt accounts.

And yes I do love the leveling process itself, but as a SINGLE character. Leveling with 5 is FAR more tedious and boring than leveling a single character. Instances, PvP, etc, is where the multiboxing fun is, and you get almost none of that from 1-60. Plus once you have 9 or 10 teams to 60 then what? Now you level them to 70, then 80, without any RAF bonus. By the time you get to 80 now you're so sick of the game you never want to play it again and you spent hundreds of hours just doing the same 84 hours of content over and over and over again :)

Edit: And yes, I understand this will not change anyone's mind here, just sayin... :)

Options. It's all about options. I now have the option to select one of several teams to level if I ever feel like it. Some may languish at 60 indefinitely, who knows, but they'll always be there ready and waiting for me to get the itch to play them.

Personally, I just can't understand how anyone would want to level a single character after having multiboxed.

I don't either. I haven't leveled a single character after I've multiboxed. If you multibox 2 teams, you can grant all the rest of your main account characters to 60 without having to level any of them :P

Guess I'm just looking at the entire thing realistically from a human nature perspective. Since I started multiboxing a few months ago, I've leveled 1 team to almost 80 (77 and counting), 1 to 65, and then granted a bunch of characters to 60. I've saved up almost enough to buy 5x epic flyers, experienced a lot of PvP, most instances, etc. I see people on the forums that started playing right around the time I started that don't have a single character above 60 yet. They're busy leveling a large number of teams.

Heres where the human nature thing comes in. People get bored with things eventually. Bored with the game entirely. It happens to everyone. It certainly has happened to me a lot. In the 3 1/2 years I've played WoW I've quit at least 4 times for >6 months before coming back, sometimes > a year. I know that some (not all I'm sure, but quite a lot) of the people that are leveling tons of teams to 60 will probably get bored and stop playing before they even get a single team to northrend. Maybe before they get a single team to outland. I guess if thats still fulfilling to some people then thats all that matters but it sure seems like a waste to me to experience 1/8th of the game content 8 times and not experience the other 7/8 of the content of the game.

Point being, I honestly don't care how people spend their time playing the game, but I used to be an altaholic also before I started multiboxing and usually thats what caused me to lose interest in the game in the first place. I would re-activate my subscription, start playing my "main", get bored and start a new class. Hit 60/70 with the new class, get bored with the game and stop again. My first 3 max-level characters all triggered the end of my subscription for a long period of time LOL. Not saying that happens to everyone but it doesn't hurt to throw all this out there and maybe someone leveling a ton of teams will realize theres no way they'll ever get to play even 1/4 of their teams to a point where it matters (where the team selection would make a difference, which is really only max level, before max level you can run any combination and it will never hinder you from being able to do anything).

Now I'm babbling so I'll stop posting in this thread :) I only get riled up about this subject because I used to BE you guys lol ;)

What really irritates me is you seem to be passing judgements and making a lot of baseless assumptions about people who used RAF to level several teams to 60. You used to BE us? What exactly does that mean? Now you're above us? Beyond it all? Transcended? Why is there an 'us and you' anyway in the first place? And if you don't care about how people play their game, then why are you getting 'riled up' at all?

I just find your over reaction a bit odd, I guess.

I know how you feel. I have my original boxing team at 80 now... doing dailies, grinding rep, tweaking +hit/+crit, profs, and badges... yawn. I made several teams using RAF, and will be going back to them soon.

The only real advice I have is play the team that you enjoy. For me I think my 4 hunter + feral druid seems hillarious with gorrilladins... so that is what I will most likely go back to first. I will say that I am not looking forward to boxing wrath content again, the rested state will help but it seemed to take forever with all the chains that require collection quests. The primary plus is I have most of my crafters skilled up to make a lot of the gear for what ever team I want to enjoy.

Oh and I did have fun in Stratholme (the original one) with a pack of four DKs and a resto shaman. Pretty crazy how easy it was considering the DKs were at 58.

Play what you have fun with... anything else is work and your not getting paid to play (unless your really lucky).

You seem to want to interpret my posts as direct insults to you, so whatever, nothing I say is going to change how you feel about that. Why does a statement like "I used to BE you" have to be derogatory? (If I said you were rich and "I used to BE you", would that be derogatory?) I was simply stating that I used to spent days of /played time leveling a character, then switching to another character, repeat indefinitely. I didn't say that it was altogether a really bad thing, just in hindsight it really seems like a waste of time and I feel like I'm JUST now getting to experience some of the game - since leveling 1-60 is about 1/8 of the game these days, probably more like 1/20. The only reason I made the posts at all is because I've spent weeks, maybe months of /played time in 3 1/2 years doing nothing but leveling alts (since pre-BC when 1-60 took a LOT longer). Wish I hadn't spent so much time doing that now. I figured MAYBE someone would read this and think "hmm, yeah, I guess I'll pick my favorite team and experience some content other than 1-60 with them" :P

If thats not what you think when you read my posts, then no big deal, they're obviously not targetted towards you. Honestly, not trying to insult anyone, just giving input that might provide insight into some altaholics. If all the altaholics here seemed to actually enjoy leveling teams over and over again I probably wouldn't have even made the post, but I see posts all the time about "if I level one more team I'm going to puke", etc. Whats the point in playing a game if you make it more like a job?

Yea talk about making to many teams lol. Lets see i did my shaman group started on dk's but wasnt impressed leveling without rested can u say big ewwwww. So decided lets make more before raf ends. This way i always have a fresh team to work on with full rested. So now i have my druid team almost all set ones 70 rest are 60 so letting them get rested. Before raf ends im getting my 5 locks all to 61 then granting levels. Then oh joy to my surprise raf doesnt end on 3 of the 4 accounts i have left on the 30 they get to the 11 of jan. So i will be tri boxing to try and get one mixed grp with mages and shadow priest and a holy priest and maybe a pally for tanking. I have another mixed grp but was no fun holy pally, prot warrior, ele shaman, mut rogue, and sp. They are all 60 but ehh.

I'm currently leveling 3 more alt teams to complement my current "1 of every class" 10 man group. By the end of it all, I'll have hit my goal of leveling 1 of everything for all applicable roles of every class. 1 of every class built to DPS; warrior, paladin, druid, and Death knight tanks, and a pally, shaman, priest, and druid healer. With a few overlaps because that's only 18.

Will I ever hit 25 man raiding? Who knows. Not for 6 months at least as I'm still looking at a fair bit of leveling and gearing, but at this point, gear is really a secondary concern for me anyway. 90% of performance is execution, and that's where I want to shine.

Sure, I could do it with off-specs with just 10 characters, but its really hard to get out of the playstyles I write for my guys, especially since their existance is based around a solitary purpose.

I still can't get over that you want to give yourself more options, but made teams on different servers and factions. You would have a lot more options if you organized the characters onto one server and had 3 characters per account to mix and match. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's what I am thinking. If you make any more teams, I urge you to truly expand your options by using one server.

The names I had on old characters were just kick ass and it was worth it to me. Don't mind at all that I have teams on different servers. I doubt I'll be making any more teams in the future, however.
