I fully agree that the less you have cluttering, the better.

I only use x-perl as an interface customiser, the rest of what I use, jamba, recount, bugrabbers etc are all hidden. The less you have on show, the easier it is to handle when you use another pc other than what you are used to.
While I love a lot of custom action bars, the original is still the best when it comes to playing at someone's elses house and not getting screwed over ;)
