You are right. But it doesn't hurt to do it and if it even reduces the duplicate posts by a little, then it's worth it imo.

What it boils down to is that we know there is a problem. How is that problem solved? Negative posts or calling people idiots does not solve the issue and only puts a black eye on how the community is portrayed. Let's focus on positive methods on improving the image of the community towards newcomers and the efficiency and effectiveness of the forums.

Is it possible to get hit count on www.dual-boxing.com vs www.dual-boxing.com/forums? I'm thinking most newcomers may go to main URL first. Maybe that's a good spot for an introduction to the forums and tips for newcomers that want to get help in the fastest way possible.

Just throwing ideas out. I really want to help make the forums rock.

I'm surprised, and honoured, that this post has received such positive feedback. Thanks everyone. It was banged out in an attempt to channel my frustration at yesterday's batch of posts into something positive.

It might have been more effective if it had been left un-stickied and then just bumped whenever things got silly again though ;)

A couple of you mentioned the custom Google search. That's in my standard set of links as the "better, but off-site search facility".

Great thread, unfortunately experience tells me that 90% of people who will post on forums post without reading the stickies, around 40% then claim they did read the stickies but didn't find anything/skipped through/missed that bit/etc.

I totally i agree with that. Most of the forums i go to most of the newcomers don't bother reading all the info that is already there. Which in most cases could solve the problems they might be experiencing. Before i even thought of multi-boxing i took a week 1/2 to look for information about it and watch some videos people made which were really helpful BTW :) . Most of my time i looked over Wiki which helped a lot. Then i went on reading what other people posted up about some problems they were having. Once i started it's all about trails and errors to see where everything can go and what i'm comfortable with.

Great post. I like posts like this because even though I try and fit in when I join new communities and respect the customs, it can be helpful to have a dump of what is expected.

Nice post, im new here, but not new in reading forums. So I can imagine how tiresome it would be reading same questions over and over.

Must say this forum is great, alot of information gathered at same place. I started MB in EQ1 with five chars 5-6 years ago was a blast, but never had Multiplicity/Keyclone to make it easier. Was 3 computers with as many mouse/keyboard got a bit hectic from time to time. So with WoW I took a break from MB and been raiding and such not hardcore, but grew tired on allways having to depend on others with time and their skill to play.

So when RAF came I jumped onboard and bought 4 fresh accounts and working on catch up. Decided to go with a Prot Paladin, Resto Shaman (my old main so good equipment), Moonkin and 2x Elemental Shaman as my main crew. Got them to lv50 so far and leveled a crew with 5x Warlocks for fun to lv40. Im on Anachronos EU, having a blast so far.

At my company we have an phrase, "Steal with pride", meaning you should not invent the wheel if its allready invented. Accept help from others and see how others solved their problem. Thanks for the knowledgebase so far!

ok im sorry to say that i've been looking all over the web for a couple hours since 6:00 AM to 9:30-ish AM and i cannot find anything to help me getting started on multi boxing = / ive looked at forums, vidoes, web posts, tuts and alot more and i cant find anything, can somebody please help me?? im desperate ;(
