From the forum, some guy defending Ellay against a hater:He does make a valid point... And GRATS!! World first ftw!Quote:
...So here's my question:
How did 1 player with 1 mind, beat 5 players with 5 minds? Regardless if it's 3 other shamans controlled by the 1 player, that 1 player STILL bested 5 player teams. You'd think that with 5 players that are, shall we say "proficient" at Arena, they'd be able to over come 1 player and 1 healer, no?
In simpler terms, you got out classed intellectually and lost....
I was wondering how this turned out for you - those netherdrakes are awesome.
Congrats!!!
This is great!!!... and also very depressing. I went 7-20 and ended with a 1340 rating on my 4xshaman with the same spec, 320 resil, 900 spell damage, and solid crit rating. How the heck do you do so well and me so badly?
But anyway, congrats!
/popcorn for you!
I love watching those faggots tripping over themselves in order to call you a cheater, Haxxor and generally go BAW BAW BAW NOT FAIR!!!ONE!1
Give them something to *really* cry about this season.

Big gratz!!!!
Gratz!
Damn wowinsider are quick sometimes:

You are famous Ellay, (well, even more famous).
And big GZ before i forget :O
Awesome find, thanks.
I get the feeling that the people repeating the "Aelli lost at 1800s and was booted" comments are people who got rolled by your team and can't seem to remove that bruise from their ego. It sounds a heck of a lot like the people who consider it unfair because they got rolled 5-v-1 in a battleground. For all of the complaints about arenas, many players approach it very competitively in order to succeed, and I guess it's not surprising to see them become very sore when they see a multiboxer foiling them. I think it's a matter of personal pride to people like Stormie, and therefore they make false accusations in the hopes that it takes some of the sting away.
I am betting that it doesn't. :)
Grats! Nice Job.

[edit] too late, Kyudo beat me to it =P
Ya the 1800 retort is inaccurate and has turned into a urban legend more than anything. I've never played a solo Shaman ever :) but I had a friend who was in my guild who lost their shaman on a 2345 team, they were rated 2300 or so. We went up against a 2350~ team and went 3-4. It wasn't terrible, it wasn't amazing but it was a mirror match and your expected to pull off a 50/50 rate at that caliber. I left the team that night to go play back with my 4 Shaman and a healer on my real team - I only joined to help them out until they got a Shaman from another server who transferred over.
From this one night episode everyone comes out of the woodwork with crazy comments :)
The article at wowinsider was nice but LOL at the QQ'er comments. Having played 20 matches now in 2 weeks since my 5 dinged 70 I can say it isn't as easy as you make it look Ellay and it definitely isn't as easy as the QQ'ers think it is. Multiboxers usually dominate the opposite side in BG's because they attack with less than the same number of multiboxed toons...ALL THE TIME, then come back for MORE....BY THEMSELVES. LOL. Once in a while I witness some intelligence and they come back with 4-6 of their team mates and annihilate me.
Grats again Ellay, awesome achievement.
To ensure that It doesn't look like I'm QQing in the wowinsider thread 1st post, there is another poster there who posts under Kyudo, not me I promise 8| .
In any case that'd make me a pretty bad hypocrite if it was me... hehe
EDIT: And Wilbur, nice clarification post on Wowinsider, but it seems to have double posted :O
I love how all these non boxers talk about how easy mode it is yet you're the only one that has done it. You have several examples in just this thread of people trying to duplicate your work with much less success, if any at all. Again, grats.
One nice thing is to see how the multitude of recent QQ threads has pretty much drained any anti-MB arguments dry. For the most part it is people arguing the same old stuff ("automation" "cheating" "money") and some who just throw insults around. There is simply nothing new being offered up by anyone. The frustration is obvious with people saying "well when it's all over the place people will quit and Blizz will stop it!" In other words, they're effectively giving up on trying to argue it and just tossing flames or "you'll see" predictions.
Game over, basically.
GZ! your accomplishments have inspired many
I would post this on the WoW forums but honestly, 21 pages in, who's going to read it. I think you could give your setup to most of these people that think it is so easy and maybe even explain it to them over a period of time and they still couldn't accomplish what you did. Moreover, these people act like you started at Gladiator with all this great gear, ignoring the fact that you worked your way up with less than optimal gear to start with. These people get so emotional about it and can't seem to put any thought in to it.
Most of the non-boxers are high schoolers who simple parrot what everyone else says, thus the "shaman booted at 1800" mythology. It's like anything else on that forum, 90% of it is garbage. I don't even read the threads anymore, it's the same idiocy over and over and over again.Quote:

This is a major milestone in Multiboxing, and Ellay deserves as much applause and kudos as he can get. For all of the crying and whining and sniveling and accusations of cheating and hacking and "it's not FAIR", this is a major slap in the face to MB attackers, as Blizzard legitimized MBing yet again with one of the hardest-to-accomplish rewards in the game. Getting ONE toon to that reward is hard work, doing 4 is a supreme effort! The people who attack it don't know the challenges involved, or do know, but won't admit it because they're jealous, so they blow smoke and mirrors about the money or how easy it is, or how "unfair" it is - yet I'd bet a year's sub fees that if any of them were handed the equipment and money for the subs, they'd be running teams right now.
From now on, anyone who says "I don't care what anyone says, it's CHEATING", all you have to do is point to Ellay and his accomplishment, and say "if it's cheating, then why did Blizzard allow this?" They just went through a week of quietly banning afkers before they released the rewards, and not one MBer got banned. They delayed a week on purpose, I'll bet they reviewed every winner for any possible exploit. I can't think of any other way Blizzard could legitimize MBing better, than perhaps Tigole and Kalgan saying "it's fine" at last week's invitational, and putting it in their manuals and on the website and EULA in big, flashing red letters.
/applause, and my heartiest congrats, Ellay. Thanks for hosting this site, and doing something we call all be proud to be associated with! :)
Now, I say you get on the tournament server, and make the record books there! :) Them we can watch you in action at the next invitational!
Gratz.
The multibox haters are gonna love this!
Wow, Gadzooks really said it. I've really missed posting on this site =P
I had to come back of course once I read the nice article on WoWInsider and noticed Wilbur's familiar name. I must say Ellay, what an incredible accomplishment and all the QQer comments make this so much better. Congrats x100! I'm jealous of those awesome Netherdrakes (the armor is so much better!). I'm planning on getting my girlies netherdrakes as soon as I can farm up the cash at 70. You have also inspired me (like so many others) to make a shaman team but my poor team sits at level 1 and who knows if I'll ever get to them.
Again, way to go! And we are all looking forward to more awesomeness in Season 4!
I'm just telling the truth - I think some people hold back, because they're afraid of being attacked - but this is something that deserves a lot of positive attention. I posted pretty much the same thing on the General WoW thread, it's devolved into the usual "it's automation" nonsense, the attention need to be yanked back to the fact that it's a really special accomplishment.Quote:

For every bitter scrub who's still butthurt because they can't win-trade anymore, we need a post that celebrates this. :)
(You do know that's what a lot of this was about. Most of the players who complain are doing so because they can't cheat their way to Glad - people who play honestly and compete for the prize don't complain about MBers. They're just butthurt because they can't get to the 2000+ ratings on skill, because 2000+ even solo is damned hard, without cheating.)
I'll be at the MLG Orlando event in July, I won't be particpating though but I'll be there!Quote:

Maybe they'll interview me and you can see me :P
Those are some great threads. Epic justice would be finding out one day that Ellay is actually a Blizzard employee lol.
Gratz again man!
I should apply :)
I know. It would be AWESOME! :DQuote:

Amazing job, well deserved titles and mounts. I loved reading through the post you made on the general forums, such a mixed back of responses. :D
