lol ye, i do feel bad in a way useing free account but how else am i going to know what it would be like without paying from the off....
onyl reason people get SL is for buffs and higher xp in some zones... with boxing you dont need the buffs :P u kill so fast it does not matter :P
gave up on engis.. pet pathing was doin my head in.... looked freakin awsome when the pets ran at it like they should... but when u say attack and suddenly oooohhh why are my pets swimming out to sea!?! it kinda gets annoing getting them back again...
got 4x soldier and gotta say am loveing it.. '1 hit' killed all the bosses around shore and 3 hit killed the droid bosses with autoshot, burst and flig shot ^^ :D
BEST thing about soldiers is.... you dont have to use nano to do freakin awsome damage :P hehe... i am level 11 and still in shuttle.. im like2 hitting the aliens that run from ship :P hehe.
btw korrup are you clan omni or neut? need to meet up with you at some point :P hehe ^^
btw sorry if i go on abit.. am just loveing AO :P
I am near always Omni but I've considered not siding at least one of my Engi's (staying neutral) so that I can run him through clan cities and use beacon-warp to warp group members to where the engi is.
Being neutral has advantages as well as drawbacks.
Neutral's can't collect tokens for a token board but some alternative substitutes do exist. (do an auno.org search for neck items... Experimental Cyborg Token Board... Nanite Board.. Collar collaso de cripta) I may not have recalled some of those correctly.
Neutral's have the option to use both faction's grid points and whompah's (just avoid Tir when you're above lvl 20, Neutral are KoS there).
Neutral's have the lowest exp bonus modifier compared to both clan and omni, this has to with land control warfare, neutrals are the smallest faction so they don't hold much ground.
It's easier to get into a neutral organization (guild).
Look on the official forums under the "new arrivals" sub forum.
Cheers!

would of taken video but was all in the moment :P hehe
anyone else been playing or is it just me that is sad and keeps playing it? :P
Anyone know if keyclone works with the game?
Also, can you run multiple instances per pc?
yes keyclone does work, nothing different to running it on WoW.
and yes if u run AO in window u can hav as many as u like, it just comes up sayin there is another AO client open wtf you doing... then ses u want to open it anyway.. and ya just click the little box that ses Yes.... yes i do :D... im totaly hooked :D
started another bunch of chars, 4x NT and 1x Doc. Holy crap... ive been playing them 2 days and they are lvl 48 :D AoE nuke like uve never nuked before! :D
annoing now becasue i can lure all of Totw up to 1st boss ( defender of the three ) and plow them all down but they just gone ot of xp range :(
but a MP is a NT's best friend omg mochams are awsome :D hehe can 3 hit kill (defender of the three) and 1 hit kill and normal in there :D love it
i highly suggest this if u want to nuke nuke nuke. ( bosses are hard at first ) but when u get a decent team heal on doc you can last forever ( well aslong as ur nano points last on NT's ^^ )
I havent played AO since release. I do remember doing missions and such at the low levels, but as I got to my 40's the mission terminals started giving me missions that were in extremely hard to reach places, or in places I had never heard of or hard to find.
I kept hoping the missions would be easy and right next to the terminal... but...guess thats to easy hehe.
So, are the missions still a trek? or are they close to the terms?
Are there good ip specing guides? I remember gimping my doc back in the day on accident, and not having anyway to respec was basically a lost toon.
Are there ways to respec?
lol :P
Missions: yes, you do get the missions where it will want you to go across the world, but this is easy to get around, with a few addons OR a program.
Addon is a better planet map viewer... it shows you where all the portals take you in the world... so if you roll a mission in... lets say Rome.. and it wants you to goto Newland ( across other side of world ) it would only take you 2 mins to get there by taking... 4 portals.. ( whompahs or wateva they called ) OR you can use grid with same method.. if u know there is a grid portal near mission... so its just looking for missions on planet maps NEAR your faction portals ( or neutral ). if that sounds complicated it is at first.. AO is a very steep learning curve but it is very enjoyable to play. Map addon is called CSPMap.
Second Method is to Download a program called clicksaver/mishbuddy. all it does is when you click on a mission terminal you open this program out of AO and it scans the terminal lots and lots and lots of times untill it meets the requirements what you put in...

at the top u can set it to find missions in your location or a location of your choosing... OR better find mission with an item you wish to get, this is very good because u can find things that people will pay alot of money fgor that increase stats etc. think ive gone on about that long enough.
Ip changes: There has always been a IP changer, but you only get the 'reset points' everytime you reach a new title rank... i think the first one is lvl 10
think there are 5 or 6 title ranks im not too sure.. but if you ever go wrong u just get naked... no rlly u need to get naked to do it :P ... dont ask.... and go into your skill window and click reset all skills OR individual skills.
although be careful not to spend all the skillpoints you get all in the first few things you see.... i did a reset before and decided just to go through every window 1 by one maxing out all the stuff i thought would help... by time i got down to bottom of the skill list i didnt have any points left.., :P
hope this helps :)
and i hope u start up too ! :D
"PyrostasisTDK: Yes, you can."
AO is such a classic sci-fi game. It certainly has its good things but the one thing that drives many many people away from it in recent years is the monotonous gameplay. Yes, World of Warcraft did have its impact but AO is not good at varieties of gameplay.
Long story...
Before the Shadowlands came out, things were fine. People were enjoying missions and people did go for outdoor hunting. And people did camp spots for uber xp etc. After the expansion was out, things changed and people only went to do one thing. In fact, the whole server is doing one thing: Killing hecklers. Hecklers are a type of mobs that give insanely superior xp compared to any other means in the game, yes, any. It requires almost no effort to kill a heckler. Of course, your character cannot be too gimped in terms of implants (similar to gears but they improve things like nanoskills and evades rather than your armor etc.) There was also a concept that you can buff up to equip the gear or implant way above your level, though you cannot "over-equip" as the items will become 'red' and the statistics drop drastically.
Anyways, people could forever stay at the same spot killing hecklers and waiting for respawns. Guess what, since Lv110-120ish or so, you can do hecklers hunting till 220. Well, you could go hunt spirits in the temples with the help of NTs (due to their AOE) but hecklers are just too good...
Back to the topic...
The only profession who can solo almost everything in Inferno (the ultimate zone) is doctor. In terms of high-end gameplay, we talk about insane healing power. Crats can do it but doctors can do it better.
If our rule number 1 is to get 6 identical professions... then...
You will have 6 big heals if you do choose 6 doctors, and 6 x 3 = 18 DoTs from Line A, B and C. You can farm the Shadowlands pocket bosses patterns, the bosses themselves, the items for upgrading tier armor. Also, the funny thing about the Shadowlands is the magical power of CH (abbrev. for Complete Heal, a nano that heals a single target for 10001). It actually brings drastic aggro to the caster. Guess what, you can do 6 directions of aggro bounce in lower level areas for fun!
- NTs? They cannot survive well in high-end zones... certainly they are the best for hecklers hunting.
- Keepers / Enforcers / Shades / Mas = Hmm... melee...
- Crats / Engs = Forget them
- Soldiers / Agents / Adventurers(ranged) = Good for bursts, you can't survive for too long
- Fixers = Could have one for Hots, certainly not a must
- Traders = May take 1 for bosses with their nano-resist debuffs and team-wide nanoskills buff
- MPs = May take 1 for +140 mochams (dont quite need to be an active team member though as there are versions that last 4 or 8 hours)
- Doctors!!! :D (bare in mind that you want your nanoskills as high as possible for the top-level nanos and lower resist rates, so traders and mps are nice)
However...
AO is troublesome in terms of targetting... I am not sure if they ever try to fix that, but you cannot heal properly without targetting a particular person. As a results, you may have to re-issue /assist or things like that to re-capture the original target, which is quite annoying.
Such a long post. Hopefully people wont consider me talking crap! :whistling:
hehe lol, nah that was good post no crap there atall :P lol
would like to add to the target problem.. i cant seem to focus all my toons on 1 toon.. it is a nightmare... so.... i have resorted to just team healing.. i box 1x doc and 4x NT and yea like u say up to lvl 50 i was sooo good i just laughed at everyone else... now im at 50 things just hit me too hard and my heals cant keep up with the ammount of damage etc. ( thats only when im luring lots tho )
im going to roll some docs now... altho the DoT at low levels is not ideal im sure i can pick up some NCU pistols in nooby backyard :D that can be my dps untill i get a decent DoT :P hehe
ill post back when ive played them a little :) cheers for post konraddo
6 Doctors?
I'd equate that to ripping my eye balls out with my fingernails.
I have a Doc at 175 and nothing makes my eyes bleed more then reading someone saying they are going to play 6 of them at a time. Feel free to do it but Doc's have one of the worst if not the worst attack rating in the game. Yes Doc's can tank some endgame bosses like LotV but it takes 30-60 minutes to do it solo. If you work your aggro right you can run 5 soldiers and 1 doc or even 5 NT's and 1 Doc but you need to be mindful of what you're trying to do.
If you plan to use NT's to sit their and AOE then your breed becomes the issue. I'd use Atrox for those NT's. Even though they have bad int the HP pool you have will help prevent them from dying from a random crit. Also roll your Agg/Def bar all the way to Def to get your def skills as high as possible.
If you're trying to mass kill with NT's it's best to do it with only 1 NT having them kite for the rest of the group.
5 NT's will work well with 1 doc if you stick to single targets and let the Doc pull with a non-breakable init debuff (UBT being the last and best of those) and watch the NT nukeage. Docs can keep aggro with just heals just avoid mashing the nuke button as fast as you can until you have CH.
Regarding CH'n for aggro, CH generates hate based off the amount healed so if you use it on a full HP teammate it will do little for you vs letting your doc get punched up a bit and CH'n then opening up on the mob.
I tried running AO last week... but was getting some rather strange hitching. Things were stuttering around like I was at a few fps. Also the mouse cursor was extremely inaccurate. Like... it felts sort of like controlling my mouse through a bungee cord if that makes any sense, it just didnt feel smooth and crisp like Im used to.
I have an amd 4200 x2
4 gigs of ddr2 800
Geforce 8800 GTS 640 meg
I tried looking on the tech forums but didnt see anything that might help. I tried tweaking some stuff... but I gave up after a few hours.
Anyone know what might be up? If I can get that fixed Ill play it for sure.
Try this first:Quote:

F10>>settings>>visual>>misc look for mouse lag fix or something named like that, if it's checked, un-check it otherwise check it.
Currently AO is based of DX6 and makes little use of high end video cards, that is until they release the visual upgrade.
omg 6x doc sux, heals are great yea... but u sped half of ur time trying to heal everyone becuase you taking so long to kill the damn thing... on my NT's and doc i could take down somthing my own level in 1 hit, with the docs somthing my own level was a long annoing battle.. dont even get me started on my bosses around start area... its just too much hassel and too little dps. be good for umm.... yea i have no idea... i suggest not rolling doctors... fun solo... not so 6x.. erg..
was about to roll 5x advy and 1x enfo earlier but kinda went against it... im taking on too many toons as it is :P lol.. would be nice team i think tho.. 5x pistol advy... or might go 5x 1he hmm... and the enfo there as main to just hold aggro... just thinking all the buffs that come with advy is nice.. morphs etc... but i suppose you only need 1 advy for that.
ty for advice on my nt's korrupt, have alredy spec Nanomage now :( still a laugh tho hehe...
still not made 6x agent :P lol ^^
Close to 12 months ago I 6 boxed AO using 2 computers the classes were:
x1 NT, main dps, this account was upgraded to Shadowlands for the Cyberdeck item $5 per month
x1 Enforcer mongo and Essance buff for NT
x1 Fixer for the x2 HoT's for my NT, also team evac into the grid
x1 Doctor to heal
x1 Engi for Pet and to do full tradeskills to make my own weapons and armour
x1 Meta Phys for the Nano buffs
Boxing missions for tokens is pointless cause of the very poor pathing, all my leveling was done out doors mainly in the Lush Fields camps then moved onto Bot Hackers and 8x8 in pleasant medows etc. By the time I had left pleasent medows I had x2 Grid Armour discs drop for killing NPC camps this lets ya get Yalmaha's for all ya toons this fixes ya /follow command niggles cause they can fly so fast behind you. Prolly the most fun I had was flying around with my fixer finding good kite spots for the NT.
It is also worth taking ya enforcer and Doc into Temple of the Three Winds and getting ya Doc the Chalice that drops in there very nice healing item, anymore than duel boxing in there is to hard and a Doc / Enforcer combo can pretty much take down any boss.
I quit at level 80ish and went back to Vanguard.
