For all the new comers, be sure to pop on vent to get to know us! We usually have 6 or so on vent each night. We are a friendly and chatty bunch.
The vent information is in the guild tab. If you can't find it, send me a private message.
As someone that transfered to Magtheridon and joined The Zerg a couple of days ago, I'll share my thoughts.
If you're currently playing as alliance as I was, leaving your friends behind sucks. There's no denying that. If you're already horde then it's not a big deal because you can do everything (except normal raid versions of DS) via Real ID.
Coming from a high population server, the AH is difficult. For example a bracer enchant (Mighty Intellect) sells for 650g on my old server but 2000k on Magtheridon. Gems have a similar markup. However this can be an advantage if you're making money via your professions.
For PvE content queue times are longer and more difficult to find a normal/hard DS group.
But if you're thinking about transfering to Mag, it's probably for the PvP! Running Rath Start with 2 other boxers was an unbelievable amount of fun! We're well known to the Rath strat group and prized. Everybody loves playing with multiboxers in AV!
Additionally, everyone I've met in The Zerg is friendly, talkative and all around good people. It's nice to play with like minded people.
If PvP is your primary motivation then it's worth it to move. If you like PvE more then not so much.
Thanks for the feedback Clovis, it is very valuable to prospective transfers.
As for enchants or anything profession related, ask in guild.
If you need anything enchant wise, let me know and I can hook you up. I have plenty of materials and all professions leveled including most recipes.
The AH is great for making gold without much effort, but can be costly if you don't have the mats or access to the professions.
My 5th guy transferred over last night. If I can get this software release done at a reasonable hour, I'll see if I can get an invite. ;) I must say, it was nice to upgrade my BC accounts to Cataclysm for free. Now I just have to decide if I wanna reactivate my other 5 for 10-boxing.
I'd imagine not, but am curious if a non-subscribed game... one that is active on game cards, would qualify for a Scroll of Ressurrection?
If so, that's a fair bit cheaper than paying for transfers.
Logged into game and vent last night to get invites for my shaman and dk's, no-one was on vent and only 1 trial member online....i haz a sad :(
What time did you log in? There were at least 6 of us online until 3 am mountain standard time.
To note, there are members in The Zerg and The Protoss.
I play in the GMT+8 TZ and there are almost always others on when I am on also...
about 9:30pm aedt. Will log in earlier tonight before my poker session starts up but not a major rush.

I have (1) bnet account, which has 5 accounts attached to it.
All my old toons were deleted when I quit... except one toon per server. (someone talked me into leaving one)
My goal is to end up on same server as Zerg, all cata accounts, and (5) level 80s, all new toons, not pay for server transfers.
Is this doable?
I can send you 5 scrolls,
You can make 5 80s on any server

When my friend did it... he made 1 on his old server to put all heirlooms on and then transferred that toon.. the rest he just made on the new server.

The person sending you scrolls gets the spectral mount. Your toons that accept the scroll do get mounts.. just not spectral. You get a 280% mount, 20 slot bags and wrath greens.

If I'm Horde from another server and if I transfer to Magtheridon Horde, do I still have a race change option or it's only applicable from Alliance to Horde?
If you do transfer server only, pretty sure there is no race change option.

Quests and dungeons. Grinding mobs will be very slow and boring, unless that is your thing.
Thanks. So after the phone representative settled my 2 accounts to be qualified for the scroll of resurrection, then I log in tonight and to my surprise he forgot to upgrade my 2 accounts to Cataclysm :mad:
The end to my SoR drama...
Blizz did eventually give me the cata upgrade and 80s. However they are not going to give me the glittery wyvern mount but for 2 accounts. They agreed that they effed up one, and that I misclicked and effed up one.. of the five.
w/e im glad its done.
That being said. I love the comradery in the guild. It was very nice to have an air escort just minutes after being harassed. Thanks again for the guild invite. Im gonna have to get to 85 quick so I can do pvp stuff and return the favors.

Random question about SoR I didn't find an answer to anywhere : what would happen if you try to transfer and faction change a GM toon ? (specifically as part of SoR perk - this is not the FAQ about server transfer)
I'm curious if you would get an error it's not transferable (like for a normal; non guild; server transfer);
Would the guild move for free (that'd be nice);
or would the GMship transfer to next rank (like when you're not logged in for 30 days)

Well you only get to free transfer the new 80 toon you create.
I'm not sure if you made him Guild leader at that time what would happen.

What that statement says is you can only apply the perk to one toon. Example of what you can NOT do.. is apply the boost to level 80 to Toon A and move Toon B to another server.
You CAN either move existing Toon A to a new server... AND apply a leveling boost up to level 80, or you can create a new Toon C on the new server, and boost it to 80.
In the case of a Death Knight...
You don't have to go through the quest chain to get out of their starting area.
And while you do get the green items, in the place of the cool looking DK items...
Those starting area DK items are in your mailbox.
So they're available, should you want to transmog your stuff to look like the starter DK set.
