In addition, Howling Blast now has a facing requirement.
Makes sense to me.
Lol I love that death knight pic.
Facing isn't really that big of a deal.
We have the DK's use IWT/CTM spam already.
Which faces them to the target and has them run towards it.
I suppose when rooted/frozen or whatever.
That could hurt a bit.
Makes sense too.
Every other offensive ability, except some dots, requires facing.
Even rooted your DK will still face the right way
Currently progressing through heroic raids with the 25m team, and in times of heavy aoe dmg the holy priests their lightwell is golden. Reality is that with a lot of spell animations and ground effects going on, only the priest knows where the lightwell is.
Now the lightwell is not targettable with the mouse (at least i can't), but it is possible with macro, /tar lightwell (well if there is a player in ur party called lightwell ur screwed). So obviously that makes it available to use with iwt. So target macro, iwt button and move back to make sure you don't run up thereif your not within range and you have a pretty awesome ability. Made a pretty big & detailed post about it on our forum, and guess what, only 1 player is actually using it (out of the 35 or so in our roster). And guess what more ... on nefarian phase 2, those mofo's still use 'i couldn't find the lightwell' as a genuine excuse.
Lol!
ROFL! ^ why I could never hack PvE
Wondering what the guesses are for release of 4.1? May?
That's an aggressive schedule for something that just hit the PTR.
its 4 to 8 weeks and its been open a good 3 weeks
did you guys see this new shammy spell??? seems insane if chained with 4 shammy's. 24 seconds of you need to kill my entire group instead of just one of us? sounds kinda OP. might be rebirth of shammy's if it goes through... then again, it's pretty far down the resto line so i guess it doesn't help us much. Unless your running 4+ resto's in a rated bg or general bg maybe.

- Spirit Link Totem (Tier 5) Summons a Spirit Link Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem reduces damage taken by all party and raid members within 10 yards by 10%. Every 1 sec, the health of all affected players is redistributed, such that each player ends up with the same percentage of their maximum health. Lasts 6 sec. 11% of base mana, 3 min cooldown, Instant
Reminds me of the cleric spell from EQ. Wish a healing class that I actually wanted to play got it...
Been trying to guage the effectiveness of frosty DKs on test but they are bugged at the moment. Would be interesting if the bug went through tbh :P
They have finally converted the blood runes to death runes but it is currently impossible to use them without clicking a blood spell. If you spam howling blast it uses a frost rune regardless of whether it is on cooldown or not. If you spam necrotic it just uses unhoy runes. If you spam oblit, it uses both regardless of cooldown. So on a dummy you can sit there spamming your highest damage spell every second.
Obviously this situation will change, but considering runes in unholy take approx 9s to regen, we are going to be able to howling blast approx every 2s and use the interim GCDs for rune strike/necrotic.
The other very interesting situation is that the buff of frost strike and howling blast is quite significant. On my premade with approx 11k AP with buff up and 15% mastery I am HBing for 10.5k. Frost strike is about 12k and oblit is 13-14k. I did not have oblit glyph equipped for this test but if you add a necrotic strike to the howling blast damage, it reliably exceeds oblit damage even with the extra 20%. Of course HB and necrotic do not benefit from killing machine procs but it does leave these procs exclusively for frost strike.
I will still use Mosg's automatic hungering cold/oblit rotation, but what this effectively does is improves our single target pressure and immediate burst by 20-30% in the opening stages of an arena. If this makes it live, it may be what frosty DKs need to break the 2k barrier.
Wasnt HB already over 10k a hit? Or am I not remembering right...
Has anyone else noticed this (good chance I was the last to hear but I didn't see aby post about it:
New PTR build I think.
- Many "Account Bound" heirlooms are now labeled as "Battle.net Account Bound", meaning that they can also be traded or mailed to characters that are on different World of Warcraft accounts under the same Battle.net account.
- Mail sent to characters on the same Battle.net account now arrives instantaneously, as it does for the same World of Warcraft account.
- Mailing account-bound items to characters of the opposite faction on the same Battle.net account will now correctly translate faction-specific items to their appropriate equivalent.
That is pretty sick. Guess i'll have a toon on my main account with a bank full of heirlooms then. Now lets hope that they become cross realm any time soon.
I'm more stoked for the region based arena queues and double honor gains :)
I won't move my accounts under one BNet until they let me sign in with one code from one authenticator simultaneously. I have gotten too spoiled and don't want to do it a harder way.
I wish SO much they would let us have multiple authenticators so I can have one at work and one at home. I use my phone, but I can't get a signal on my phone at work, so no reason to take it in. Plus, when I upgrade my phone, the authenticator serial changes, so it looks like a different authenticator.
I don't transfer chars enough (about 1 per year) or use heirlooms enough that I would want to transfer them around a lot. I got a few heirlooms, but just got them back in the WG days, so have them on all accounts, so can just move them around on each account easily enough.
I am liking the slight nerfs some of the dungeon bosses are getting, especially grim batol. Makes me interested in giving those another whirl when it's live.
Go figure... two full honor grinds complete, and now they cut in half the honor grind time.
Still a welcome change, just wish they had done it a bit earlier.

I'm finding this on MMO champion but not on the us battlenet patch notes for 4.1. Is it just a nasty trick?
WoW insider reported it also, But it may have came from MMo Champ to begin with.
If so, this is awesome! I have so many Heirlooms scattered all over the place.

Yeah missed that TB bullshit.
Pretty much they should have either left it in for everyone.
Or taken the points and the armor pieces from the people who exploited the game... which was everyone who was 85th and into PvP.
The reason to make it longer, rather than shorter is because most of these games are intentional time sinks.
Of course, there are as many who want to pvp now as at release, so the reason for a time sink are as good as before.
Pretty much all MMORPG's are time sinks, if there weren't people would win and quit for another game.

I think this is pretty cool. Just by doing the daily for a week or 1 day (patch) you could almost get a epic pvp piece.
I think it's rather terrible in fact, in order to stay up to date with pvp gear you now have to run multiple difficult to box heroics.
what?
Its an alternative, for people who suck at arena, rbgs etc......
Conquest point cap doesnt change. It will still be 1343 unless you can get over 1500 rating, this is just a different way of hitting your conquest points cap. Pvp gear will still be earned at the same rate as now.
(suck is a relative term)
I like that the base Honor and base Justice are exchangeable, but at a slight premium.
It will let people who play one aspect of the game, get an entry level position in the other aspect of the game.
The PvPers, will have the equivalent of having run a lot of heroics.
The Heroics players, will have the equivalent of a full honor grind.
I don't like the Valor to Conquest conversion.
Let's say you run your games and reach the conquest cap for the week.
You also raid a bit, and earn some Valor.
And then convert the Valor into Conquest at a 1:1 ratio.
Any PvPer who doesn't want to raid is behind the curve.
Not such an issue now, but it will be at the start of every season.
*Edit*
And why should it not work the reverse?
Players who can win Rated BG's or Arena, and who also PvE Raid...
Should they not be allowed to acquire raid point gear faster than raiders who don't PvP?
Ok, I was under the impression that if you converted to conquest you would get points over the cap but the way you put it makes sense.
There are far less items to spend valor on hence players who raid regularly have valor in significant excess. Now I am not disagreeing with you, I do agree that it would be fair for the conversion to work vice versa as well.
