I'm not sure ill play Aion long term or not, I was not impressed with beta that much. and I still enjoy WoW ( just bored atm ) but i had preordered a collectors edition. It is not recognizing my account as CE.. just standard for some reason 8(
anyway.. ill hook up with people in game..going to be very casual with Aion.. but i have a month paid.. so might as well give it a true shot.
So did a server ever get settled on? Apologies if it's earlier in the thread, but just wanted to get the latest.

I'm currently on Azphel characters names are Zalith and Zalinda (not boxing).
Elyos US Vaizel has at least 1 boxer : me :-)

Thanks for the heads up, Moorea. I stopped following Aion awhile back because of the GameGuard, but since NCSoft has currently disabled it, I'm definitely going to give Aion a try. Hell, I'm installing it now. :)

Okay. I've squatted names on Ariel and Vaizel. I looked at Moonfire, but the no naughty language might get to me ;)
Still trying to decide if I want to two box it or not, but it seems like two boxing pretty much means you have a cleric and a templar. I'm planning on leveling a Ranger, since that's what I started in beta, or maybe a mage of some type. I guess I could always have a pocket healer, but not sure if it's as synergistic or not.
Thoughts?
My names I'll be using are Souca, Kelindria, Elaeni, and Elliwynta. If I box I'm going to see if I can pull it off using InnerSpace.

I'm going Glad and Cleric for my two box team and Am also leveling a ranger. The healer hit 10 with my glad last night. I took the healer back to the noob area to heal ( out of group ) my ranger, and I'm glad i did. At low levels the scouts can kill stuff fast, but they die just as fast. having my healer tag along allows my scout to kill non stop. Will be great way to PL noobs later on, when the healer is maxed.
Just started the game today and I hit level 10 tonight (about 70% into it too):

From my *very* (read: 5 hrs played) limited experience, this game seems to have all the features a MB'er would want. It looks like follow works, as well as the macro system (the macro system even supports built in delays)...
My question is: How difficult would it be to 5 box (PvE) this game?

Anyone want to share their configs for getting Aion to run with software? I'm using InnerSpace, but would use HotKey or something else if it works. The launcher seems to be were the problem is since it launches the .bin instead of a normal .exe.

A How to Guide for those with more experience in this game would probably boost other people's interest.
I speak for myself, but I won't move from keyclone or IS to a hardware solution so would like to know if any of these work and if there are any limitations/ known issues.
Also, am I correct that a party consists of 6 toons? What kind of end game can we reach with 6 boxing?

Well, I think I've managed to launch an instance of Aion through IS, but beyond that I'm stumped. ISBoxer has made me stupid in regards to IS, so I'm not sure where to even begin in setting up key bindings or display regions. If I get anything beyond launching, I'll be sure to write something up.

3 of us boxers are on Vaizel/asmodian, not boxing just yet, learning the mechanics with single boxing for now.
I thought they were Eylos on that server? Right now I'm on Ariel as Eylos, but might be able to roll some Asmod on Vaizel if it isn't locked like most servers are.Quote:

Keyclone does work on this. I haven't played with the auto start and maximizer yet that keyclone has. What i do is just run two instances of aion (in the launch you can go in option and check off run multiple instances). I am currently playing two sorcerers so far lvl 13. Talk about a little op. Best targets are the melee ones sense they have to run to you. I just get them at max distance, throw my slow on them and nuke the hell out of them. They usually die by the time they get to me. In the starting zone i didn't even need the slow. The thing that sucks are the ranged mobs. They hit you for a good amount of damage. I find that lvling isn't as easy too, granted things die really quick, but it seems like i have to grind a little every now and then. I was lvl 12 doing the lvl 15/16 campaign quests because the other quests where not available until 13.
I have also heard that past lvl 20 people usually do everything in groups (2-3 people) because it is much harder. I also heard that grinding is almost as good as questing (had to grind 5 bars and it went pretty quick).

At the character creation screen it wouldn't let me make anything other than an Elyos. I even received an error that said I already had created an Asmodian (don't ask me how, my account and everything were fresh out of the box as of yesterday). It seems like this was happening for a few other people in the General chat as well, because I saw a several others ask why they couldn't create an Asmodian character. Some of the responses were to roll on a different realm.
@Drizzit - 2 Sorcerers seem like a great idea. I'm going to be rolling my other one up tonight. I'll post my findings as I continually progress. If this boxing this game works as described by others on this forum, I think I'll probably end up 6? boxing this game... 4 sorcerers, 1 priest, 1 templar.
Leveling in Aion is definitely not for everyone. Aion leveling can be seen like leveling was in the original EverQuest or Asheron's Call (lots of grinding). The leveling system is offset by the quests that Aion introduces, and by that respect, I think they've done a pretty good job with the questing system. That being said, grinding isn't that bad in this game -- I'm sure I spent at least 2 hours last night just running in a circle killing mobs. For the first hour, I didn't even realize that there was a mana-regen option so I watched some tv inbetween waiting for my mana to regenerate (oops). I'm glad I did the NPC grind, because I always outleveled my quests, and right now I have a bunch of quests available which will yield me another level or two.
From what I can tell, the auction house system mimics that of EverQuest. You can park your character(s) in a city and auction items. People can walk up to you in order to purchase goods.
I'm curious to see what the end-game will be like. There has been a lot of talk about the PvP endgame, but also about how PvE end-game will consist of your group.
@ Anyone - How does tanking work in this game? Do we have to worry about threat generation at all? I haven't rolled a tanking class yet (slowly picking out my classes to box).

How did you deal with fps dropping on the 2nd client?
9 "background" fps seems to work enough for following, casting, etc.... so it hasn't bothered me so far - I wonder though if some of the hkn command could force both windows to think they are in the fg
I'm still puzzled why you picked the same server I announced but the opposite faction - again I don't mind having also an asmo or that you prefer asmo but why pick the same server...
I play typically 9pm-1am pst on weekdays and it's easy to see if I do or don't as usually my stream is live when I play

That setting is to go from 1 to 2 not from 1 to N
it's unclear from the aion forums whether that's normal or not but is one reason (another being again that gameguard maybe only temporarily out of the picture) that I'm only dual boxing (though I could quad or even 6x as I have at least 3 computers which can run aion, but I think that's too early)
I'm also trying to get an official word on whether key/mouse broadcasting or any kind of non manual boxing is actually ok or not (which is another reason to be careful)

Thanks Moorea. I found some release notes for Aion where NCSoft mentions that you can launch 2 clients on 1 computer, but that's it. I too could turn on all 6, but I don't want to open all these Aion boxes until I find out what's going on with the game.
