Thanks, Ugh, I'll sort that one out in the next update.
The quest silently option is gone. I'm going to add some message control into Jamba-Quest, one of the options being 'Mute'.

Do we have to delete the old jamba completely for the new version to work correctly. Since in my folder i show both versions just want to make sure so i can get jamba working right again been away way to long.
ok i feel dumb now lol. When you say disable i go into addons and hit disable jamba now if i log out and back on is jambadev supposed to show. Because its not coming up in my addons menu but its in the interface folder under addons. A little stumped here.
JambaDev is split into individual addons; it might be that you have all the addons in the one JambaDev folder and WoW cannot see them, if this is case, just move the folders up a directory. Your addons folder should have JambaDev, JambaDev-Quest, JambaDev-Proc, etc.
ah much better. Few more things since this one is a tad different. What is jamba proc is that like a warning if one of my slaves proc for an extra spell so i can maximize dps. And how do u forward whispers to your main this one is wierd but love the layout.
Yes, Jamba Proc is exactly that.
This one is missing a lot of stuff, like forward whispers, warnings, etc. Its still a work in progress. You are more than welcome to try the bits that are working out and let me know what you think. Otherwise, use the 0.4 versions for your day to day stuff.
i love it so far. Since the old one wont push stuff to characters gayness. None of the things i set on my master was pushed to slaves when i pushed to characters on old jamba. But the new one is cool just cant wait to get the new ui for the new one. One thing dont know if its possible. I know some of my teams are mixed classes was wondering if its possible to associate a color with class on the jamba ui kinda like heal bots. So say mage is light blue shaman is dark blue so forth. Also is there going to be a way to right or left click on the new ui to access the options menu for easier navigation. Oh just before i hit submit lol. I could never find in the old jamba but might be able to add to new one. Say your not paying attention to the ui you could add in a message for each slave saying slave one in trouble hit heal button or slave two in trouble hit heal button. Cause i have a problem when in a big fight lots of things going on healing the right slave this would be a party warning you could set up yourself to say the name and button to hit so no thinking. Just putting it out there to see if its possible. Other then that great job love this addon. Adding isboxer this weekend on a day off so i have all day to mess with that as well so no more target macros only castsequence. Once again thanks for an awesome product keep up the good stuff.
One more bug in JambaQuest with the 0.5u1 build. Alts will not complete quests with the master from Elder Atkanok. I can accept them from him, just can't complete any.
[edit] Well, I'm going to have to ditch 0.5 and go back to 0.4g to continue using it. I've hit a bug where adding multiple teams full of names and then switching teams repeatedly causes the channel/password entries to become fixed on the defaults and cannot be changed. Restarting the game, closing and reopening the Jamba config dialogs or doing a /console reloadui always causes it to reset back to the default channel/password. This basically results in everyone showing up as offline except for the people on the same original teams. I've tried hacking in the actual string for the channel and password into the comms.lua but then it just prompts for the same password repeatedly. No idea what I did to get it into this state, though I suspect it's because I'm trying to use some of my shammy team with some of my pally team together in a mixed group. Either way, everyone in the shammy team shows as offline to the guys in the pally team and vice versa, in spite of having them added to the list. That's probably a crappy explanation, so let me know if you'd like me to dig further and come up with some way to replicate it.
why is both parrot and mikbattlescrollingtext used at the same time? are they not the same type of addons? Mik has a better wow factor for some things. What should be enabled and disabled for each of them?
I've fixed this (I hope).
How do you "switch" teams?Quote:

That's not good; I'll have a look.Quote:

So this means that the ones online are showing up as offline and the offline ones showing up as online?Quote:

Not sure why WoW does that! Will investigate further.Quote:

You should be able to add them all to the list and Jamba should ignore the ones that are offline.Quote:

I'm assuming that the shammy team is online at the time; i.e. you have 10 toons online.Quote:

I might take you up on that....Quote:

EDIT: Any feedback on the team list? Does the concept of all in on the team list work for you? I'm dual-boxing at the moment and won't be getting more accounts any time soon, so you are about the only one that's got any say in its future....
Holy crap how did I miss this? Going to grab it tonight if I can.
If the proc thing works similar to Mik's or whatever that would be awesome, im fine with the vanilla GUI's combat text, I just use mik's so I can show my party's procs. Question: Is it possible to determine where they came from?
For example, theoretically I have 3 balance druids in my group with the eclipse talent. If one of them procs it I need to know to cast a specific spell on that one toon, it would be nice if the popup could say [Charname] Eclipse! or whatever...
Just throwing it out there,
Thanks for all the hard work,.
Yes, it does that already. The message is "Character Name: your text" when your spell procs - and you can set up the message to go to an area you made in MSBT. You can also tag the "message area" so that only toons with the tag get the message. Use "master" for the tag if you just want the master character to display the message.
You might have to mess around with the Core: Message options. Go in to the Default Proc Area settings and make sure that the tag is set correctly.
Please realise that this is something I hacked together and your feedback will be just awesome.
I just logout the guys I don't want playing and log in the guys I do want playing. I've added everyone on all teams to everyone's list, then I just do a /jamba setmaster <name> to make sure they all have the right leader.
Here's what I see. Let's say I have Don1, Don2, Don3, Don4, Don5 as paladins and Don6-Don10 as shamans. I'll logout Don6-Don9 and login Don1-Don4 (using 4 pallies from that team with my lead shaman). What happens is that none of the paladins show as online to the shaman but they all show online to the other Paladins. If I login 2 shams and 3 pallies, the two shams see each other as online, the 2 pallies see each other but the shams won't see the pallies and vice versa.Quote:

I agree, though I've yet to be able to get this working successfully. Only the original 5 in each team show each other online.Quote:

No, I just login 2 from one team and 3 from another. See above.Quote:

Yes, I like the concept and it works great, except for the part where only the original teams will "see" each other in the team list. I'll try again tonight and see if I can figure out anything else.Quote:

Ugh;
I know you have done this, but I'm asking anyway... Have you checked that all 10 toons are using the same channel? If the two teams are on different channels, they will not be able to see each other.Quote:

(If the WoW channels are all messed up you might need to clear out your chat channel information in WTF / Cache, or where-ever it is stored on disk.)
Yeah, that was what I checked the other night thinking I'd simply flubbed that config. That's when I discovered I could not change from the defaults (kept resetting it on me). I'll poke more when I get back from running a few errands and see if I can figure out how I changed the setting originally. I think that I had the pally and druid teams (which work fine) set to an alternate channel/password using 0.5dev original build and didn't use the shammies until 0.5update1 build. That may tell you something. I have both builds on my machine here and will verify if anything changed with regards to channel/password stuff later.
Sweet, thanks. I don't think anything changed re channels between 0 and 1. This weekend, I'll go over the online channel code and sanity check it and add in some controls so you specify when to change channels on each toon (the button discussed earlier). I think if I can fix the problem where you cannot change from the default then the rest of the stuff should hopefully sort itself out...
I will definitely try to provide some feedback. Question: You mentioned that the messages can be displayed in the area I made with MSBT. Should I read this as MSBT is required? If I can get rid of it and use just yours I will.
Just trying to clarify, I will try to provide some feedback tonight / in the morning,
Thanks again.
Yes and No :-)
Jamba has "message areas". You define a message area and then in other parts of Jamba you can tell Jamba to use a particular message area. For instance; every proc sends its messages to "Default Proc Area". You can change the area a proc gets sent to in the Proc configuration screen.
Message areas can be default chat window, party chat, whisper, raid warning, and if you have Parrot installed, a Parrot area or if you have MSBT installed, a MSBT area.
The reason I use Parrot/MSBT is that they already have written the code (quite a lot) that is required to display messages in a manner that makes you take notice. I don't have the time / immediate desire to write code to replicate this functionality.
For instance with your three Balance Druids, you could set up three new areas in MSBT, say top left, top middle and top right, one for each druid. You could then create three Jamba Message areas that use the MSBT areas. Then you could set up Jamba Proc and add in three Eclipse spell notifications, differentiating the spells by the tags (i.e. druid1, druid2, druid3), and a different Jamba message area for each Eclipse. You have to tag a druid with the druid1 tag, the 2nd druid with the druid2 tag, etc for the third.
This way when a druid procs Eclipse, the message will appear top left for druid1, top middle for druid2 and top right for druid3.
Alternatively you could not use MSBT and have all messages go directly to a Raid Warning on the master.
Please have a play and let me know if there is anything that could be changed / improved.
OK, Jafula. Confirmed that the problem is they have different channels/passwords. I just logged into the pally team. Channel shows "JambaTeamOnline" pw shows "JambaPassword." Shammies are set to the same thing. But, when I right-click a chat tab and go into the Global Channels settings, I see "JambaTeamOnline" channel on the shammies but "UghJamba" on the paladins for the channel. So the paladins remembered the channel/password change but it does NOT show that changed channel/password in the config UI. Very weird.
[edit] OK, investigating the settings for channel names/passwords, I see this on my paladin Zipples:
Now, what's interesting about this is that Zipples shows a Blank/default channel/password entry in the config, yet she's connecting to the UghJamba/Ugh settings for Donramirez. I check the global channels for Zipples and she's definitely connected to UghJamba/Ugh. So is it reading the wrong index into the profile settings for channel/password when you're pulling the defaults/settings?Code:JambaCommunicationsProfileDB = {
["profileKeys"] = {
["Donalfonso - Garona"] = "Donalfonso - Garona",
["Donramirez - Garona"] = "Donramirez - Garona",
["Zipples - Garona"] = "Zipples - Garona",
["Busuku - Garona"] = "Busuku - Garona",
},
["profiles"] = {
["Donalfonso - Garona"] = {
},
["Donramirez - Garona"] = {
["teamOnlineChannelName"] = "UghJamba",
["teamOnlineChannelPassword"] = "Ugh",
},
["Zipples - Garona"] = {
},
["Busuku - Garona"] = {
},
},
}
LOL! OK, just deleted all my settings LUA files and guess what? The UghJamba channel is still connected on all my druids. :P In fact, if I right-click the chat tab, go to Global Channels, I see both UghJamba and JambaTeamOnline channels in there.
Thanks for your two posts, they will help when I get to the code...
I use the wow api JoinPermanentChannel which is why the channels hang around and probably part of the problem. My bad.
*Edit* If you are up to hacking, try changing all instances of JoinPermanentChannel to JoinTemporaryChannel in the JambaCommunications.lua file. Characters leave temporary channels when they log out. (I assume I wrote it so that the code tries to join the channel when the character logs in.)
But, the JoinTemporaryChannel might or might not accept a password (two sources of conflicting documentation).
OK, just resetting things and going through the basic config process again. I changed the JoinPermanentChannel to JoinTemporaryChannel as you suggested.
- /jamba-team add <member1>, etc. to add all my druids to the team
- /jamba-team invite, worked OK after I let it "settle" a few seconds.
- Went into JambaDev-->Core: Communications settings.
- Changed channel to UghJamba, and pw to Ugh.
- Push Settings.
- ERROR: All 5 reset the UI to JambaTeamOnline and JambaPassword in the UI. JambaTeamOnline is the only one that shows up in the UI.
- Changed it back to UghJamba/Ugh and clicked OKAY to close the settings dialog.
- Went back into Interface-->Addons-->JambaDev-->Core: Communications, and it's reset back to JambaTeamOnline/JambaPassword again. All alts show offline. Checked global channels and no jamba channels are connected at all anymore.
- Did a /console reloadui and the default channel is connected (JambaTeamOnline/JambaPassword).
So with the JoinTemporaryChannel thing set up, it doesn't appear to be able to select a non-default channel at all anymore.
Hmmm, thanks for all that help! Number 6 worries me. I'll sort that one out and then I'll play around with the Channel joining and see what I can come up with.
On a related note, how difficult would it be to have Jamba just save all its settings globally? I ask because with the 0.5 dev version, I just add everone to every group and everyone's chat/warning/etc. settings are identical. Would be much easier to set up and copy configs to alt accounts if the only thing that was character-specific was the master setting.
[edit] And frankly, for 0.5 I think I'd not even bother with the Jamba Buy/Sell stuff as FreeRefills and AutoProfitX both handle those so well.
Global wouldn't be a problem; but I can imagine situations where global might not be suitable for everyone.
I'm going to support profiles, so you should be able to set one team up and then copy profiles and tweak stuff. There will also be a push settings button on the top level Jamba config that will ask each module in turn to push its settings.
I like my version of Jamba buy/sell and have ideas for it, but it is definitely the last on the 0.5 list (I plan to release 0.5 when the Display Team, Follow and Me modules are complete).
The "profile" thing you mention should fit the bill, as will the global "push settings" thing. Honestly, while I gripe about that, it's still easier than 0.4 and I really only have to do it once per team. :) I wouldn't consider it a high-priority usability issue.
I depend on jamba sell :-)
rule #1 of customer satisfaction: don't take stuff away ;-)
One other question: when I invite my team, I get spammed for about 20 seconds. See below. Did we forget a debug statement or something? ;)

Found another quest bug: won't click "Continue" on the "Blessing of Zim'Rhuk" and the other statue God quests in Zul'drak.
Update 2
JambaDev (0.5) Download
An update (number 2!) is available at the same download link.
New module: DisplayTeam - display follow status, experience, health and mana bars for your team members.
New module: FTL Helper - builds an FTL /assist macro and assigns the macro to an internal button for you to /click. This module was built by olipcs (awesome stuff olipcs).
Message has a mute area.
Quest now has configurable message/warning areas.
Team will now invite members with a small delay between member invites to ensure your party is made up in the correct order.
Communications channel has had a little overhaul (thanks to Ugh for all the hard work reporting bugs, was very useful). Please note toons on different team online channels will not be able to see each other / push settings, etc.
Was a bucket load (and then some) of work http://www.dual-boxing.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif.
I use the FTL with /target instead of /assist and then just have a targetlasttarget at the end of my macros for spells, is there a possibility to have the option to use "target or assist" in the created macro added to the FTL-module?
I have hacked in the /target and removed the /assist from the module currently available and it doesn't look too difficult to add the option, just not quite sure how to make it appear on the screen :P
By the way i really like the work you have put into Jamba and thanks Olipcs for the FTL-module that's a really awesome addition.
Jafula,
I didnt forget about you, going to try to get some of the proc mod testing in today.
Im... ive been around for a while so i feel stupid asking this, but can somebody explain to me why they use FTL with Jamba? Jamba seems like its getting into supporting it... ISBoxer has a bunch of stuff supporting it. I guess I dont get what it offers me (im currently using a /focustarget system).
I need to go reread the FTL sticky i guess haha.
Yep. Still getting spammed with either the last accepted quest or (if I just logged in) empty accepted quest as in the pic. ONLY does it if I use my accept macro.
Code:/script --/click SmartBuff_KeyButton
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script AcceptGroup();
/script AcceptQuest();
/script AcceptTrade();
/script RetrieveCorpse();
/script RepopMe();
/focus dondeltoro
/in 5 /script StaticPopup_Hide("PARTY_INVITE")
/in 5 /script StaticPopup_Hide("QUEST_ACCEPT")
/in 5 /script StaticPopup_Hide("CONFIRM_SUMMON")
/script SelectGossipOption(1)
I also am getting spammed with "Quest has 0 reward choices" or something like that every time I complete a quest.
