Stupid stuff I did MBing...
I became slightly schizofrenic during my first two long sessions of multiboxing. I started to think about myself in third person and planning tasks that would be impossible for me to do irl at the same time, it was incredibly weird... :S
I've been at it since June last year, and I still do that! Especially after having a good old WoW binge on a weekend, it takes me an hour or two to shake the idea that I'm ... multiple. Eek. It's a mild sensation, sure, but the fact that it exists at all probably would get me committed in the early 1900s ...Quote:

Well, I just started 5-boxing last weekend so while I hope that these remain the stupidest things I do while multiboxing, I suspect that it's just the start of even stupider mistakes to come! :)
First, since I loved druids back when I played WoW solo, I rolled up a team of 5 druids and when I got to 16 I went to get the aquatic form quest. I think I looted at least my 7th or 8th bauble thing from underwater before I remembered that even though the quest timer gives you half an hour, once you loot the item it only lasts for a few minutes. I was very thankful when I realized that I could just buy the ability from the trainer instead...
Then, following the awesome RAF 1-60 TourGuide, I was doing the quest in Bloodmyst to "coerce" the secret message from Sunhawk elves. I looted it on my first kill, happily ran back to Blood Watch and I must have stared at the screen for five minutes wondering why only my main got a quest completed message. I guess the questgivers won't accept four characters pointing at the main and saying, "seriously, we did find it, he just gave it to you, right?"
ROFL... isn't that the truth.Quote:

Initially made a single mount/dismount macro that would dismount if already mounted, and vice versa. Went to mount with one toon on the ground while others were flying, and *splat*. I've since taken dismount out of all mount macros and simply changed the dismount keybind in the WOW interface to fix that.
Started a guild run in H VH with me comprising all 3 DPS. After a few trash group kills taking forever, I realize that I had not tweaked my targetting macros properly to work when not running in my full group mode and my shaman and warlock were not killing a damned thing.
Also running up to a ledge in Fjord and stopping the tank right at very edge. Didn't take into account lag in updates between all the windows. All my toons stopped, except the warlock. He flies off the ledge on his dreadsteed, spins mid-air to face me again, and I swear I could see a tear in his eye as he disappeared from sight.
Last week I was flying out to do gundrak from dalaran. I had autorun on while I flew.
My dog came looking for some attention so I started petting him. I look up at the screen a few moments later and all my guys are dying from exhaustion - they had flown way off into the ocean. I turned them around and flew as far back towards land as quick as I could, but they all died. I then ran all the way out to where they died and rezzed, but I was still too far out and died from exhaustion again. Had to spirit rez x 5 for petting the dog. Sigh.
lol. whoops!Quote:

apart from the usual not picking up quest one one and breaking follow. my best nub moment was at cenarian in zangar, just finished handing in quests and an alliance cheered me, so i spread out, target her with all my toons and /dance... then a friend whispers me and so when i reply i hit '2' shammies unleash lightning upon the poor alliance. Guards subsequently pummel me into the ground.
There is also a toon pulling another group in an instance, still haven't worked out how that happens but it never ends well.
OMG these are hilarious stories. I don't use the mount/dismount macro as a worry for the same thing. I seem to always have one toon that doesn't mount. The most annoying thing I've done so far... I have 2 on Raf and 2 that aren't so 2 are 4 levels higher then the others. Well I was on one of the slaves and noticed she didn't have the same quests as the others and a couple I didn't want. So I decided to delete them... Well SHE didn't have the quests... and I used jamaba to delete the ones I didn't want. Well it deleted the ones she had that would of been in the same place IF she had had the others. So I lots 3 quests before I did the DUH idiot this toon doesn't have those you can't delete what she doesn't have. I was to lazy to run back to get them.
Yeah I've done all the normal stuff , forgot quest items had lose runaways and forgot toons on other maps but recently I've been raiding my 5 man team with a guild and at times I'll hit my /follow key and cant understand why toons aren't following me. I also have those moments of panic as a raid mate runs past me and I think its a follow thats broken and I'll go off spamming my follow key and my Guildies will say weird stuff in chinese to the effect of "what the hell are you doing" as I run after them, still they think its cool to have a boxer along.
I got banned by blizzard for running more than 1 D2 instance per computer. How lame, huh?
How sweet that Blizzard allows us to jump into water now without taking damage. If only I hadn't recently cast Path of Frost.

The little silly things like getting on a Boat/zepp and sailing off while second toon is stuck on something and not noticing till your on the other side of the world, not noticing that follow broke in a instance till its a wipe and only one is alive, tageting a mob and then changing without allowing for the slave to switch before attacking... done that way way to often.
Two words, Spiral staircases. God, Outside of UC up to the zeps. In org to the flightmaster. I have real problems with freaking all kinds of stairs. I have gotten into the habit of just running up the stair with each toon individualy, as it seams to be faster :(
Also one of my worst cases, Im running myself though UBRS with my friends toon, and i click auto run on that toon, well, it was still passing keystrokes and before i knew it i had half of the instance attack the 80, and I could not understand why. Well It seams I auto ran all 3 chars off a cliff/bridge/something in urbs, as they fell they agroed a tun of stuff, and when they died...that stuff decided to attack me...Needless to say I died. :( sadday.
In Ungoro, I had just rearranged my keybinds when I saw a devilsaur walking, no, tiptoeing towards me. (you know how quiet those things can be). I spaced my team out, quickly threw up buffs, and pulled him. My tank was going to town and had good aggro so I start DPS'ing. Like usual when my tank has good aggro, I'm not watching what my guys are doing; I'm concentrating on healing, mana and aggro.
After about 30-40 seconds, the fight not going good. Devilsaur is kicking my tank's butt, and I'm not doing nearly enough damage. I look over at my team, and I'm horrified to see two of them standing in an inn, having a pint and not fighting anybody.
In my haste to reconfigure my keybinds, I had missed it up for those two, and not just a little. The hearth icon is on one of the vertical action bars on the right side of the screen. The attack button is on the bottom left action bar. Needless to say, after Devilsaur whipped my butt, I rezzed the other three toons, and hearthed out so they could join their buddies.
That was one moment where I was happy there was no one looking over my shoulder to see me do something so stupid.
Heh, they were the smart ones who saw the threat and decided that discretion was the better part of valor
When I got level 77 on my new characters I saw that 1 character didn't have his mount yet. I portalled to Shattrath and was on my flightpath to Shadowmoon Valley to then realize that it was my druid and he didn't need a mount, since he has flight form.
To my defense: I never played a druid before.
I logged onto my first account fine... next while my first account was up in org in the middle of the city I logged onto my second account.. with keyclone... and I broadcasted my second account information bnet and password. lol
