I keep switching back and forth on how difficult it really is. I went 7-3 tonight.
With Stamina and Resil I can see myself doing well. The patch just needs to arrive asap, and I want some pvp gear! :)

Some of you guys are really full of yourselves... 2 points:
1) Multiboxers are hardly a blip on blizzards radar. NOTHING that they change is "because of us". Out of 11 million players...there are hardly any multiboxers, blizzard really doesn't care how we play or how it effects pvp or pve, so don't think we're somehow special and the nerf bat is happening because of us.
2) Everyone is complaining about Arena and ALL of the points people are listing right now are the exact same complaints by SINGLE boxers out there also. This has nothing to do with us other than the fact that we're clumped together closer than most teams that play with 5 individuals. Theres posts flying all over the place about arena matches lasting 5 seconds, people getting 2 shotted all day long, etc. It WILL be changed because as of right now Arenas are hardly a sport at all, more like a one sided slaughter that ends fast.
Bottom line is, its obvious blizzard knows things are f'ed up right now and they will be balancing things over the next month or two. Things are way out of whack, why people assume "this is it, this is what we're stuck with, multiboxing is over" beats me. At level 79 in Sholazar the other night I had a Retribution Paladin fly down and land in front of me and immediately start attacking. He killed my entire team before I could hurt him - he was bubbled the entire time. You'd have to be daft to assume Blizzard is ok with that type of scenario occuring.
Btw here is a blue post from today I think:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...geNo=1&sid=1#9
Basically says they don't like the burst damage being so high, etc and they're evaluating now.
I just got wtf owned, all the teams i'm fighting are in 10-25 man raid gear and have a good 3k-4k hp more then me. Silence my healer, CC one of my guys, and aoe the rest.
Ellay make a video!
I'm working on it :) I'm not exactly doing amazing, but I'm pulling off a better win than loss ratio so I guess something is going right :P
Well, maybe you haven't experienced what people can do against stacked characters yet.Quote:

When 3.0 hit, I dropped from 1900ish to 1600ish.. partly due to retri dps and all top teams being replaced by retri teams.. but also due to the massive amount of aoe dps and aoe control (knockback, stun, silence) that classes were given.
People seem to think that this doesn't matter.. but I'll argue that boxing in arena will not be viable while these abilities are in place, which they will be, AFAICT.
By the way I have been roughly as successful with 4+1 dps as with a healer.. hanging on slightly below 1500, winning mostly against scrubs. :)
hmm i have made about 60k honor the last 2 days, iv had scores like this in av and im only 78 still in s4 gear, i have hatefull ring cloak and boots in my bank, and i dont relly think it will be worse then it was right when i hit 70 ind the end of s3

yeah i have been trampeld down by some aoe every now and then, but that did happen to me in the start at 70 aswell, so lets just get some gear and then see :)
Update: current record of 18-23, 1508 rating. What i learned: Don't try to burn down DK first, Focus target killing is amazing (can't heal what you can't see coming), and rogues are OP beyond belief.
You make zero sense with this statement, any team with 5 individual players that are GOOD at what they do will have an advantage over a boxer due to being able to do alot of things we can't group class makeup being single or varied has its ups and downs but to say that "Single class teams should be wiped 9/10 times" is just silly what about the non boxer single class 5 man boomkin teams ? or other variations? Anyone playing any style team in arena will have strengths and weaknesses and if that team regardless of makeup is well played and uses their strengths they should have just as good of a shot at winning as anyone else.Quote:

How are the NON shaman arena teams doing? Are there any that are posting here and playing arena? I would think a combo of something like 5x ret pallies or 5x DKs (or 4+healer) might do decent.
Kill order is generally healers first, then anyone with poor mitigation (or the other way, depending on the mitigation of the healers and how annoying they're being). The goal when facing multiple enemies is to make there be fewer enemies. If you successfully get to the point where you outnumber them meaningfully, it becomes much easier to kill any arbitrary target.Quote:

I normally try to kill a DPS firt so my healer doesn't have trouble keeping himself and me up while i'm nuking othersQuote:

Yeah...if their healing isn't strong enough to STOP you...the fewer living enemies you have, the better.Quote:

Comes under "LOL LAVA BURST!!1!," I believe? :D
I've yet to go arena. :<
Didn't have time for it yet this week. *sniffle*
Your not missing a lot. 1 win 9 losses here :) Cba with any more. I'll just scrape points every week while i gear up slowly. :)
This is so not working for me. I don't have the skills to counter the kind of stuff people are doing to me, even if they nerf the hell out of the dps.
DK bubble, 2 rogues in COS roflshot my shammies, druid knocks 2 of my shammies of the bridge, retripala roflshots another shammy.
Arena boxing is so dead. :\

Not at all. If you go for the healers, your team will be dead before you get your second cast off.
Kill order has never been healers in 5v5 in any set up that I know off.
Depending on set up, I think these are the main things people will do in 5v5.
- Nuke the dps
- LoS the dps out of their healer LoS, kite, nuke at right time
- Drain healers, kill dps
- Drain dps, kill whatever (This doesn't quite cut it anymore with the mana mana skills just about all dps mana classes have now. But it used to be viable tac vs some set ups in the old days. :P)
But I can't think fo any set up where it is prefered to kill healers first. (Maybe 3 DK's and 2 healer teams? :P )
4 wins - 6 loss's
Im not even bothering to "learn" something. Not in Brutal Gear. It's not the burst thats killing me, but instead how everyone AOE's.
TBH, theres too much knockback's, yes, even shaman thunderstorm.
Blizzard tuned it so much for mono box survival, that in arenas, everyones trick to stay alive ends up being the best way to kill ur opponent.
Im playing the game less and less. I don't give a sh1t for PvE (boring), quests/daily's (ultra boring), farming (not funny anymore), and now PvP where the fail was huge: BG's with too many vehicles and explosives (if i want to drive a striker, or fire RPG's i'd go play Americas Army), and a ultra lagged Wintergrasp. Set's are also beautiful, both in looks and in colors.
I still wanna see, if with 1200 resil, i'll be able to survive 5 seconds to this retarted game that wow has become.
And that said, I'm sure you will find that once that time comes, PvP will be a bit more balanced again. x) Right now survivability vs dps is too big an issue. Better gear, toned down burst, future is looking bright!Quote:

I think the main problem for us right at this moment, is that our class simply lacks compared to other classes. With the upcoming patch we will get better scaling which will help out a lot. I'm thinking chain lightning will become our main skill then. 4x Lava Burst seems a bit overkill, it's a good way to drop a first target, but after that I think it's all about those chain lightnings. :>
You'll see, you'll see! ;)
Lets face it, we are playing the most shitty class in the game 4 or 5 times over for perhaps 1 reason. A fkin Tremor totem xD
My biggest fear when people get gear is warriors.
That WERLDWIND look alike attack deals INSANE damage.
I guess the warrior was well geared but he charged in and started to do this AOE.
All my shamans died at 15k hp and 250 resillience. (but i guess thats nothing)
Do anyone know how much hp we will have in full deadly or hatefull gear?
I faced a druid wich i assume was in tank gear last night..
44k hp in bear form (i assume he trinketed and used somekind of last stand)
He kept hitting me for 5k in bear form. :/
I've been up to 1650 rating so far with an 8 win streak.
Everything I'm dying to though is getting nerfed in the next patch.
Double Readiness BM hunters are pretty lame, their Damage is getting nerfed as well, they were killing my healer in 2 seconds and nothing I could do about it.*Nerfed next patch.*
Ret Paladins doing insane damage in bubble. *Nerfed next patch.*
DK's having insane defensive capabilities such as antimagic shell lasting forever, 50% less damage for 12 seconds every minute, bone shield etc etc. *Nerfed next patch.*
When I first started doing the bg's I was getting stomped in equal matches of 4v4, now with a little bit of PvP gear it's not an issue. A lot of players are running around in Naxx 10/25 man gear, it's the same exact issue in TBC at the end with Rogues rolling dual warglaives. Except now we don't even have the PvP gear to fend them off. As time progresses this is going to be much better for us. I would said to weather it out in the meantime.
The next patch is a substantial boon for us, especially if your an Elemental Shaman. The time is now to perfect yourselfs, I'd say at this point in time more than any other we are at the lowest of lows. If you are able to overcome the obstacles now, when the changes/buffs do happen - it won't even be a challenge to stomp everyone.
I'm sitting at 708 res now, 18k hp roughly and I will say its noticably better. I havn't really had a chance to play many games because my paladin healers don't seem to want to pvp anymore due to DK's but the few games I did in my current gear level I did raise my team's rating, went 6-5 and we lost 3 of those games to a triple ret pal 1 dk 1 resto shaman team (this is where my healer quit). Really no chance against that team, even insta gibbing the shaman wont stop them from bubbling and leveling most of your team before it all wears off, pretty silly really, but maybe i should drop earthbinds and GW run away from them. I also have to say watching a DK run out to DG me and seeing his DG get eaten by a grounding totem, then leveling him in 5 sec while he sits there going "WTF why didnt dg work" is extremely satisfying in arena. Also broke 1600 on my 3s team strangely enough .... maybe just luck. Oh one last thing 708 resil is with FULL savage, FULL hateful offslot epics, Resil gems and enchants. So don't expect to go much higher, I'm getting roughly 19% crit dmg redux and 8.5% crit change redux which is certainly nice. And like ellay was saying bg's are wtfbbq again for me, I run straight to galv and roll their offense 90% of the time in AV.
All that being said I'm still highly skeptical we will ever see a boxer breaking 1900+ again because honestly theres so much aoe dmg and aoe CC out there now I don't see how a well played team could lose imo, but who knows.
