Notes:
1. Ragefire was tough to get to as alliance. Guildies were busy and didn't want to help summon, so I had to corpse run it. Worth the trip!
2. Got too caught up in quests and leveled too high, so Wailing Caverns and several of the zones afterwards were too easy. I also didn't realize how nerfed a lot of the zone levels were in 2.3.
3. Wanted to do RFK earlier, but Blizzard didn't adjust the quest ranges downwards, so the quests are just available (and red) at 29 :(
4. Got Sang'thraze from ZF! I might try running it a couple more times to see if I can pick up Jang'thraze. Not that I have any use for it, but Sul'thraze is a great show-off weapon!
5. The Princess in maraudon was a little annoying, since she is immune to nature attacks. I just tanked her at a 35 yard range, so my shammies wouldn't get knocked back during the fight, and ran her back and forth so they could get flame shocks up on her. Took a few minutes, but not really hard or mana intensive.
6. Eranikus is super annoying with 4 shammies. Make sure grounding totem is up at all times, face him away from your shammies, and use righteous defense (hope it doesn't resist) whenever he slumbers and wipes your aggro.
7. Stratholme was the most fun zone yet; I took some time on a weekend to do an entire clear of both sides, completing all quests and Malowning the postmaster. In a zone where most of the difficulty lies in other people in your group not doing silly stuff, five-boxing really shines as a way to make the run smoother and more fun.
8. The first boss in Auchenai Crypts, Shirrak the Dead Watcher, is probably the hardest boss in the entire game, for the level at which you're supposed to do him. Absolutely ridiculous fight. It is virtually impossible to do as a pally + 4 shammy team. I managed to get him, but only after many, many, many wipes.
9. Blackheart the Inciter is another extremely hard boss. Four shammies will annihilate each other in the first Mind Control. The secret is to spend some money buying 'of the eagle' and 'of stamina' greens off the AH. Build an HP set with the goal of reaching 8K HP unbuffed. It makes an unbelievable amount of difference.
70 Arms Warrior, Demo Warlock, Frost Mage, Resto Druid - all arena spec'd
Just started pve this weekend:
Blood Furnace fairly easily cleared 3x (1 wipe per run).
Fel Reaver downed for SH key quest.
More attempts coming. And I may prot spec the warrior to help with the mage/lock aggro.
Cleared Stockades last night. What an annoying instance - no drops to speak of, and the bandana quest required me to do it twice to get the drops for all of my characters. I sure won't be grinding this one.
Characters: 1 priest, 4 warlocks
Level: 25 (dinged 26 after handing in the quests)
Boxed Underbog and Slave Pens last night at 67. Was pretty easy except for the last boss in UB. Took me about 8 tries for him, but at least you can run out to leave combat. =)
Cleared RFK today. Rather annoying that I can't get one of the Alliance quests for it until level 29; I was level 26 when I started the instance.
Characters: 1 priest, 4 warlocks
Level: 26 at start, 27 at finish
I 5-class a Paladin,Priest,Mage,Shaman,Warlock group. Lvl21 and 20s.
Just finished of Wailing Caverns. Sick and tired of that instance. It is just too long. Going to go farm SFK for a couple more levels.
The mages are both heavy in fire so they get some synergies. I like having two sheeps over the lock option. Also having two healers can help when pulls go wrong. The group composition seems to be working well and the dps seems high enough to get me through everything I try so far.Quote:

Very nice. I'd like to see more info on people clearing lvl 70 instances (heroic or non). Strats, movies, etc.Quote:

Cleared Ramparts
62 Prot Paladin
4x 61 Elemental Shaman
I cleared ramparts at 61 with 4 locks and a priest. The last boss was rough though, i lost 4 felguards, 3 locks and my priest twice :P But i did it. At 70 i can clear any lower level instance up to Mana Tomes, I cleared Sethekk Halls up to the last boss but ran out of shards after my 5th attempt so i gave up. Now i'm in the process of leveling up a warrior and some mages so i can start doing heroics and hopefully karazhan with another 5 boxer in the guild.
What Instance - Deadmine @ level 22
What Classes - Paladin Priest Magex2
Blood Furnace - The Maker
Down to Team Doublemint (4box) with No 5th
Kitarra was sleeping and I was bored, so after getting 65 on all 4 toons I went to Blood Furnace and cleared the first boss... bit touch and go and did have to blow my LoH because I wasn't paying attention... but I won ;).
I'm not sure if I'm getting a false sense of security with my 4 hunters, but I've been destroying instances.
At 18 I full cleared WC with very crappy gear. I had never done WC before either. I ran WC until about 22. By then all my hunters had decent gear, and alot of blues.
I then romped right through SFK, first run it was a breeze. Crappy drops and too easy, so I fired up atlas and looked for another instance near my level.
Found BFD. After alot of running I made it there. The water in the beginning turned me off right away, but I was still progressing really fast. Ran out of ammo and had to hearth out halfway through. Came back and full cleared it without issue at level 24.
Hit RFK at level 24 and killed maybe 4 bosses. A little tougher, and I have to heal my pets more, but its really no problem and kinda fun.
So now I'm level 26 and will pretty much be farming RFK until I find the next instance. It's been really fun and easy instancing with 4 hunters. I have 2 beast mastery and 2 marksmanship. The only time I ever wipe is because of my pets doing their crazy positioning. Sometimes they run up to a mob, then reposition themselves closer to the next group of mobs and wipe up chain pulling. But amazingly I am sometimes able to take down 6 mobs and only lose a couple pets.
The first time I do any instance it takes a while, and I'll wipe a few times while learning pulls. But the second time around I pretty much destroy it.
Fun stuff, hunters rule! I'm anxious to see how Uldaman, and Maraudon will go. I'm pretty positive ZF is going to be super easy. Maraudon is my most favorite instance in the entire game, can't wait.
What Instance - SFK @ level 24=Paladin 23=Priest Magex2
What Classes - Paladin Priest Magex2
I have done ramparts with 3lvl 58 ele shaman + 1 70 Warri.
But the dragon boss was too hard ;)
Uldaman (Full Clear) - Level 42 (leveled to 43 midway through).
Most of it was tank and spank.
A couple of bosses with adds made it interesting. Wiped with the Ancient Stone Keeper. Waaaay too many adds. After the first wipe, with most of the adds dead, it was easier to deal with.
The 2 points on the way to Archaedas where you had to have 3 toons toggle the stone center caused a slight problem with positioning afterwards. I like to have my 4 support toons at the back, which didn't happen, but didn't matter.
With the actual fight with Archaedas, I just had my paladin pick up any adds while everyone focus fired on the boss. Didn't even try to kill the adds, just kept healing the tank, the tank casting Consecration and picking up adds, the mages just dpsing on the boss.
It was pretty exciting. :)
I bet, Archaedas is really fun :) Can't wait to try that on my hunters.Quote:

Cleared blood furnace (3x 63 shaman, 1x 64 prot paladin)
It was a little bit too easy, though. I probably could have done it at 62/63.
Boss MC'ed my shammy so it was not a huge problem. Kinda wish it would've MC'ed the tank to see if I could try and survive that -- I think I would've been ok with my macro system.
Finally finished Uldaman today. I didn't have the time to devote to a full run over the last few days, usually just killed Revolosh and Ironaya for their blues and then logged off. Today I did the full instance. Archaedas was easier than I expected; I basically ignored the adds and concentrated on keeping all the dots and wands on the boss. When there got to be a scary number of adds, I aoe'd them away with Hellfire, but one of the warlocks died in the process as the priest didn't get Prayer of Healing off quickly enough. Other than that, the boss was a breeze.
Forgot to finish the Talvash quest line while in the instance, so I'll have to run it again tomorrow.
Characters: 1 holy priest, 4 demonology warlocks.
Level: 40 at start of first run; 42 by the end of the most recent run.
Underbog down this weekend (66 pally - hadn't trained yet, 4x 65 shaman)
The last boss was hell. If you're not careful, the black stalker will throw a shaman out of the room and evade bug. You have to move them back into the room ASAP. He evaded 5 times before I was finally able to kill him.
Hungarfen was interesting since shaman do not have spammable instant casts like dots. I put them on /follow with my paladin and kited while healing, dpsing, and laying totems. When he gets to 20% (i believe) he starts healing himself based on the aoe damage he does, so the shaman and paladin have to gtfo. Not sure if I'll be able to do it in a heroic setting as I understand he spawns mushrooms faster. Make alot of use of searing totem and flame shock, then lesser healing wave the pally in the middle of kiting.
Hit 30 on my hunters several days ago after many easy RFK clears. No more instances until I hit level 33/34. Will just do STV quests. Haven't played them much due to the holidays.
Current Level: 61 - 5 Shamans - 1 Enhancement (Main) & 4 Elemental
Instances:
VC: 20
SM Library: 33
SM Armory & Cathedral: 38
Ramparts (Naz not downed): 60
Blood Furnace(up to the prisoner release): 61
These are all frapsed, and I'll put em up soon.
Doing ramparts with all shamans was probably the most wow fun I've had in a long time. Each group of mobs takes around 20 seconds to kill and tanking melee bosses with a shaman is terrifying! I still haven't replaced all my pre-bc items so I'm a little squishier than I should be.
Just got Blade of Trapped Knowledge x 4 though, so now I can use my shield and hopefully survive a little longer!
Question:
Has anyone 5 boxing shamans killed Nazan and have any advice for me? I've gotten him to 30% but that's with my tank getting wtfpwnt at 90% and just getting some lucky nukes in before a wipe.
I'd really like to complete the quest and move onto the Blood Furnace this weekend.
Maraudon
Orange - Level 47
For the most part, easy as pie.
The only time I had any trouble was the first time I encountered the little green slimeballs that move so damn slow. Just nuke them as fast as possible, if they reach you, back up and nuke them some more. Stay out of their melee range.
Purple - Level 48
Also easy for the most part.
The only time I had trouble was the little worm nursery area. Didn't know that you could click on the worm-spewing tube to stop them from coming out.
Inner Section - Level 48
This section was a pain.
The crocs with their AOE silence. Just keep them away from your casters.
Pats, the elite rock with 3-5 little rocks following him. They seem to come at the worst time. It seems like if you are just clearing one room after another, you'll encounter them in a middle of a fight with a different set of mobs. Just be on a look out for them... I think there was a pat for each little area.
Princess... she sucks. Wiped the first time, the 2nd time I barely took her down with all 3 of my mages down at the end. She feared my tank, then went after one of my casters, hitting pretty hard. Even though I had a tremor totem up, still took a second or 2 to get out of fear to try to regain her agro.
Once you finish, you can click on the druid to get a quest to get to Moonglade. The easiest way to get to Moonglade seems to be to fly to Darkshore. Ride up all the way to the north-east. Then get in the water and head east until you get a message that you are in Moonglade. Drown and rez in Moonglade.
Cleared ramparts and blood furnace with my 5 shaman team at 62, so the answer to my own question is
Answer:
Be level 62 so the boss doesn't hit so hard and you have a ton more AC :P. Also, burn down the dragon in the air while a shaman tanks
Cleard this night 6times ramparts and 2times blood furnace
3x 62 shamans
and another multiboxer
1x 70 warri
1x 61 pala
Fire resist totem, grounding totem. Chain heal off your ranged dps, put GoTN (if you have it) on your tanking shaman. Keep the dragon facing away from the ranged dps.Quote:

I finished ZF last night. The toughest boss (for me anyway) was Antu'Sul; I had a tough time micromanaging the voidwalkers to keep aggro off of the squishies. I also had a few bad pulls that resulted in wipes due to unfamiliarity with the instance - the only previous time I had been through, I was following a friend's 70 mage and not paying much attention.
Characters: 1 holy priest, 4 demo warlocks
Level: 42 at start of first run, 44 when I cleared the entire instance. Dinged to 45 when I turned in the quests.
If you do that, Nazan doesn't land until he hits about 20%. The downside to this strat is that his random fireballs will keep hitting random people, whereas if you turn the dragon away from your guys and can keep your tanky type healed OK, it requires a lot less shuffling to get out of the pools of fire. I kinda doubt this strat would work on heroic mode but I could be wrong.Quote:

RFC (13-17) it was very hard at 13 and I was not able to kill the first boss (the demon with the knockback) until 14, otherwise full clear. Just a pewpew fest on that.
WC (17-21) This was also a pewpew fest. I was not able to full clear till 20 at which point this instance became completely trivial thanks to healing stream totems. I could clear up to everliving but could not beat him and since it was such a big instance I often gave up after 1-2 wipes due to respawns and just reset and go again. For all the bosses it was a tank and spank except for everliving. On everliving I would use my main to "tank" meaning starting off with as many spells as I can to build hate then burning him down, throwing out 5x lesser healing waves when I got below 50% because he hits really hard.
SFK(21-24) I came to this instance late and stayed longer than I should have because there was so much lovely caster loot in here (yes cloth gear but there is no spell damage leather gear pre TBC hardly at all, anyways) This instance was instantly trivial upon entering thanks to healing stream and a new rank of lightning bolt and only got easier. Got to a point where I could pull multiple groups at once and just melee them down rather than trying to burst down 1-2 mobs at once. Arugal was annoying because his spells really hurt and could not be interuppted but never died.
BFD (24-28 ) The instance was also very easy due to the level I went there at, like I said I didnt stay because I couldnt advance I just wanted the gear lol. Every boss was a pewpew fest except aku'mai (he hits really hard on leather/cloth heh) so I used the everliving method here as well. This one was flakey though and my main would still die about 20% of the time due to unlucky crits. (I do have a FRAPs of one of these fights)
SM:GY (27 lol) I made an attempt at this at 27, it went pretty bad due to the first boss (the interogator guy) he hits really hard and has lots of hp so usually involved a wipe to kill him. Full cleared the rest and then decided Id come back later on.
RFK (28-30) I had forgotten how much I hated this place but it really did suck, not to mention 70% of the loot there didnt help me any so what I did was did 2 full clears for quests and such and to get a feel for things then I would only clear to death speaker jargoth or w/e his name was, kill him for his robes/shoulders and hope for a mace (only ever got one) and then reset. It went very fast, usually 15min per run and net myself around 4-5k exp each time. Given the quick clears this also netted me a lot of enchanting mats (I had 113 small glimmering shards before I ever did anything other than DE lol, and many other mats)
SM:GY (30+) I went back here after 30 and getting all I wanted from RFK and it was a very easy at this point, sadly this instance is just lame and annoying with only 1 good drop from the end boss (shoulders with 10spell crit, which at this level is almost a full 1%) So I intend to get out of here ASAP and move on to library when I get chain lightning at 32.
My plan is to burn through the SM instances for as long as possible due to convenience, nice gear (since I can wear mail at 40 after all) and having a strong familiarity with the instance. From there Im thinking uldamon for a little bit which im not lookimg very forward to because Ive always hated that instance. I may just try and skip that and go straight to the weaker side of mara. Id do ZF but I did that a lot on my war to level and I dont really like the place so I will see when I get there. Depending on exp gain and loot drops I may just live in SM for even longer (41, 42 maybe) and jump straight into mara after.
*edit* dinged 32 in graveyard last night and moved onto library after training. Only had a couple wipes due to runners but was able to full clear* and kill the last boss (archmage Doan) * - I did not kill the houndmaster, I tried twice and got rolled, the really bad LOS in that room made it impossible to get the first shot which is the clinching factor in not having a real tank. But he drops nothing I need/want so it doesnt bother me much. Will be doing this for a couple levels maybe since it has some nice gear. For the boss it was just a burn fest with grounding totems. I did forget that he did that fire nova too until it was too late but a few quick lesser heals took care of that (hit all my characters and took them to half health lol) I freaking love caster bosses haha, they are free blues!
