Eeek 40C, I consider 16C to be a decent summer day. The riverwalk seems to be the thing to do so far!

While youre down there at the riverwalk, head to the downtown end of it, near the mall. The place where the river flows under the giant building... if you go up two levels you can get in the IMAX theater there. Then from there, you can head back out on street level, and pick up a horse buggy ride. They're not expensive, and its a bit of good fun. Usually the buggy will take you right next to the Alamo. You can get out there, and visit the historical site, or, turn down any one of the main streets there on the corner, and check out some night life. There are live jazz bands that play in the city square there too nearly every night. If youre lucky, or plan well, you can get a street side table at one of the street level eateries, grab a beer or two, and listen to the jazz, as the old street lamps come on.
Its fantastic.
And if youre in a playful mood, head north of SA and towards Fiesta Texas (6 flags)... its down Hwy 1604.
I advise not going further south of highway 90. it can get sorta dodgy down there.
Thanks Apps, that sounds awesome, chilling out listening to some Jazz. I'm assuming the Alamo is this: http://www.thealamo.org/main/index.php There is no IMAX within 700km of where I live, so I might have to visit that one as well. Thanks for the info re: the theme park and the south of highway 90 as well.
Pretty much the Alamo and the riverwalk. If it was basketball season you could go to a spurs game.
You could go to http://mitierracafe.com/ if you have a car. We usually go there to eat when we're in town.
There's also Sea World and the zoo, if you were interested.
Be prepared for anything outside. It's already almost 100f during the afternoon around here (I'm in Austin).
Also 99.5 on the FM dial, if you like hard rock / heavy metal music. San Antonio has one of the best radio stations in the country if you're into that kind of music.
Heh, I like a cafe that serves breakfast 24 hours a day! I won't have a car, but will keep it in mind, thanks! Hmmm, a zoo, I don't visit those very often, could be worth a look. Ugh that's freakin hot, I think I'll be packing shorts, but I'd much rather wear jeans. Maybe I'll get 99.5 FM to wake me up in the morning!
105F here in Dallas today. 107F in Marquez.
