:D Okay so I went gnomes, currently at level 18. The damage is... redonkulous! I am definitly loving the challenge. I tried deadmines at level 16, had quite a few deaths. I tried to set up ISBoxer with the mages assigning raid symbols for individual sheeping then realized I can't complete the quest objective in a raid group, so I need to figure out another way to do this while not in a raid group. Anyways after dying a bit I just started manually assigning raid icons and having the individual mages focus on thier icon before the pull and this made a world of difference. Made it all the way past the shredder boss then got too tired to continue for the night.
The biggest thing that made it difficult was my level and the bad to-hit on the elite mobs. Will try again soon and destroy some baddies :D
You don't need to be in a 'raid' to assign symbols, I use one key to cycle through each mage with a set focus and symbol. Once I see enough different symbols ... one key to sheep.Quote:

No you don't but you do need to be in a raid to promote the slaves so they can set their own symbols :DQuote:

I use symbols every single day on my slaves. Never in a raid, never have to screw around with anything, just each slave using a simple macro -
/script SetRaidTarget("target", 5);
/focus
Also, Deadly Boss Mods will put Raid icons on your team for various alerts.

Previously only party leaders could mark.
can it be restricted though?, perhaps Hotnutz has a default setting preventing it or something
Addons might screw it up, but as far as I can see, there is nothing in the WoW settings that prevents people from using raid markers. I can even assign raid targets to things when I'm not even in a group.
