Been away a very long time and looking for input

Wouldn't it be a better idea to use HKN toggles or swapactionbar to deal with mend/rez pet? Sticking it in a cast sequence, while currently effective, is not the most elegant way to deal with things like that.

There should be a link to using toggles in either the bottom of my HKN guide or in the tutorial links of my newb boxers guide (in my sig...on a phone so I can't check). This way you can use a macro for /cast [nopet] rez pet; [pet] mend pet or whatever in the toggle and not risk lockups on dps.

Im all for elegant i hadnt thought of this i do use HKN toggles like this one

This lets me press the Oem1 key which is the semicolon 3 times in quick succession
and as long as my toons are all facing the same way you get toon 1 doing 3 quick tabs
#2 doing 2 quick tabs and #3 just does 1 tab so now you have 3 different targets real quick

but i dont see how this is helpful with mend pet unless i was to do a toggle for my spam key that would send spam key most of the time until it got to the part about sending a different key which means i would need a steady spam rate(mine varies so i can ride threat high the way i like to) and then it would send the mend pet and also if i did it with HKN that way i would need to fix the script everytime i decided to try something new with my macro

However i do like the thought of the actionbar swap is there a way to do an actionbar swap as part of a castsequence
this would be ideal it would come to where the mend pet should be and swap bars where i would have a macro something like this...dont know if this is the right syntax for it as i dont currently use such a macro

Why would you need to change the script? If you make changes to the macro, it's not going to make any difference to HKN. You'll have 2 macros and all HKN will do is alternate between the two. You put your main macro on 2 and the pet macro on shift 2 for example -

and HKN alternates between sending 2 and shift+2 every time you press 2.

It works the exact same way as swapactionbar.

I've been using this for quite a while on a mixed team and I never have to alter the toggle code no matter how I change my macros. I've even been using the same code for an alt team I've been leveling and didn't need to change anything even when they didn't have enough spells to need a toggle.

It also makes things easy if I need to use different macros altogether, like if I'm doing a dungeon where my healer needs to focus only on healing and won't have time to DPS. I just drag my healer's DPS macro off the 2 key in game and I'm good to go. Or if I'm in a dungeon that will require AOE instead of my standard single target DPS, such as boosting or speed running old content. I just replace my ST spam macro in game with my AOE macros either by swaping out the macros in game or changing the action bar. HKN's code never gets altered.

yes this seems all well and good but im thinking that its casting mend pet every other click which means that its hella slowing the dps macro down

its doing in the case of what you've put here

If it's casting too much, you can always add in spells to keep it from repeatedly casting

Or you can leave mend pet in the way you currently have it and just have the call/rez pet as the secondary macro.

That's the beauty of breaking the macros up and calling them in steps, you don't need to spend all sorts of time trying to create one perfectly timed macro that only works under perfect circumstances.

Well Khat there you have it you solved the whole damn thing

I have changed my macro to this now and it requres no bar swaping no HKN toggles

This macro will revive a dead pet, call an absent pet or if your pet is alive and out already it just does the dps macro castsequence this is awsome because i get to keep those mend pets right where i want them and if the pet dies he is comming right back without even switching macros
