Well then, I learned something. I didn't know there was an English spelling of that word, but boy does it bother me unlike colour, flavour, centre, etc. Is it still pronounced like "wine"?
In the +- 20y that I'm online as a non native English speaker, the spelling/grammar quality of native English speakers has gone downhill (like there is no fucking tomorrow). Same is true for my own language though, and 90% comes from the younger generation (partly education, partly internet/sms/leetspeak I guess). Not that I'm capable to write quality English, but none expects so from a foreigner I guess.
One of the examples that stands out lately is 'I'm a decant player', or 'he is better then him'.
That English is not your first language and you catch those is pretty impressive. I have friends that have no idea which is correct.
