The first "half" wasn't too terrible. In order:
1. Kill guards in Booty Bay until you get your Bloodsail reputation finished.
2. Go to the ship in Grizzly Hills down in venture bay and kill the insta-respawning mobs for Goblin rep.
3. Go to The Barrens and finish your Goblin rep.
4. Take your 4-5 Rogues to BRD and position them at the arena in the midst of the spectators. Commence mashing Spacebar for roughly 70-80 hours while they pickpocket. Make sure Slashdeleteall is enabled to get rid of the trash drops.
5. Take your Herbing Druid with max flight speed to Winterspring and farm herbs for level 60 decks. All of the herbs there break down into 50% rare ink and you could probably have 5-6 druids farming there without any of them noticing each other--There's *so* many herbs.
The hardest part for me was the lockboxes and the darkmoon decks. Not only were they the most objectively boring but they also happened to be the the longest parts.
My God. Thats what I thought. Per player. The kill rep im sure was across players in group, but the turn ins.. My God.
People in my guild (im the only MB there), will often be heard as quoted.
Random dude: "Im bored, what should I do?"
Guild member: "get full raid gear"
Guild member: "work on the Insane title"
So yesterday after the achievement dinged....
Me: "Im bored, what should I do now?
Guild member: "uhhh shit i dunno... go outside??"
Grats Mosg That is indeed impressive.
I have an old rogue that is 85 that I want to try to get the title on. Is the steps basicly the same no matter where your rep is currently at? Is there a up to date Insane guide? Most of all the search results come up with old guides before the grind got nerfed slightly.
cmeche, I built this 5 sheet workbook excel file to help track and count every Book turn in, Deck turn in, Heavy Junk Boxes, Thorium Widget, Soft fur, number of kills required etc etc.. which also calculated how many hours I would need at avg drop rate, and instance lock outs per hr.
There is a wiki somewhere, that you can script in the achievement status, and it will remain on your screen as a "tracked achievement", incidentally also allowing you to link it in chat or guild etc. That way, you can definitely confirm you have completed each step towards the goal. I'll look for the script after work today.
You can do it any number of ways, but as Mosg pointed out... Id also recomend getting your bloodsail FIRST, then goblin, then Ravenholdt and Darkmoon. Shen'Drala is no longer required, so you'll not have to worry about those G. Damn Pristine Black Diamonds.
I don't want to sound elitist, but if you're thinking about doing this on even one character...
Stop. Think about how many hours it will take to complete it. Remember that you get *nothing* for it other than a title, and there's no "half-way point" where you get, like, half a title and can stop. It's all or nothing... And in the amount of time it will take you to finish it you could have gotten a part time job and earned a fvcking down payment for a house.
Once you think about it in those terms then you're ready to accurately judge if it's worth the effort.
(The only reason I finished it is because I'm probably one of the stubbornest people on the planet and I hate stopping something once I've started)
That's redonkulous grats
Big gratz deserved here.
