Your right its not as boring as grinding honor. I did this for my 4 shamies using my 70 ehancement shammy to level them to 60 before I started questing. I went 1-60 in about little over week real life, not sure how much played as I go afk allot. However This time around though I plan on getting about 8.5k honor a level until 70 that way I will have my 75k honor cap and can just go buy my 5 set pieces of gladiator gear upon hitting 70.

my friend and i plan to do this once my mage is leveled

atleast untill 60

ramparts and lbrs though seem kinda iffy for me though... it's a rough venture and you need to have some decent people to help other than your main DPS... like he siad warriors are really necessary.

my next group i'm leveling is going to be... warrior/rogue/mage/mage

going for 5 mages total..

my mages are now 55 ^_^

The current honor grinding isn't that bad... I grinded up to Commander on a high-pop, one of the first launched servers... now THAT, was pain. It required 8-10 hours a day of continual AB and AV, everyday for 3 months.

My friend got up to Grand Marshal, which required 12 hours a day every day for another 3-4 months after reaching Commander. ;(

This grind for 40 hours isn't that bad, considering what I've done in the past (never doing that again). :thumbsup:

Well, I've been doing this since 3-boxing, lol.

Using a 70 #3.Prot Pally to boost. (#3 = means my 3rd account.)

Team Heroic: doing nicely @ 67 Holy #1.Pally + 69 Shadow #2.Priest, Blades Edge Mountain quests.

I also decided to level 2 Mages and 2 Shamans, one for each account.

Team A: #1.Mage is 54 & #2.Shaman is 55. Mage is almost 300 Enchant & 300 Tailor. One more BRD Run.

Team B: #1.Shaman is 43 + #2.Mage is 43. BRD Run.

I play them when they have fully rested exp. Then rotate grinds whichever I want on weekends. Sometimes I just do daily quests and honor grind on my Pally.

I also have a 70 Warrior (Miner) and 70 Rogue (Honor grind in BG) in account 1.

This is how I've been leveling my alts, team them up with my 70 enhance shaman and plow through zones. They are level 44 or 45 now (been busy the past week anna half). It's not terribly fast though, because he is not an AE class and so I usually just work my way through the zone. On the other hand, I do a run or two each week, usually on a weekend morning when things are quiet. I've never been able to just grind grind grind for anything in any MMO I've played. I'd rather fall behind in progress than grind anything past a point where it stops being fun. Then again I play in a casual guild with RL friends so there's no negative effect from being slower than others.

My instance runs with the team are usually pretty slow, not only can I not handle really large pulls, but I like to make sure to loot and distribute items depending on needs (tradeskills, etc). But once this team gets to 70, I am wondering about using the mage or paladin if I ever decide to PL other characters (and I am considering rolling up 4 shamans so I can 5 box them, I did enjoy running 5 shamans on another server before starting over on my home server).

I leveled my three other shammies in the team up this way until L40 using a mage. The Arcane Talent that gives you mana back on spell resist is a godsend for the Cathedral pulling, as is a water elemental for the boss-kill in the cathedral (you can basically one-pull the cathedral by having the water elemental hit the boss and then him calling the entire building's mobs to the water elemental-- clumps them up nicely).

Here's where powerleveling yourself breaks down...

I still standby the most fun/enjoyable/reasonably efficient approach of:

1-40 Instance Powerlevel through RFC->SM:Cath
40-58 Quest in Azeroth, running instances only to get uber chain quest XP (notably BRD)
58+ Quest in Outlands

I did my 2 replacement Shamans to 40 in 17 hours and they are now 56 or 57 at about 1d 15 hours.

Basic outline of what I did. I used a prot pali till 45.

1-8 One at a time.

8-15 Rage Fire Chasm

15-20 SFK

20-45 SM (In hindsight I found a much much faster way from 40-45 would easily shave several hours off)

45-51~ ZF with a Lock running around chain dotting everything never stop moving, looting is optional. Had I moved to ZF with the lock at 40 I probably would have hit 45 at just under 1d played as opposed to about 26/27 hours.

I then quested to 55. Now I do runs of Ramparts with a warrior. It is about 80k an hour.

In my experience (Leveled probably 10 different times/sets of toons for friends like this) you should hand level to 10, WC to 15, RFK to 20, Cath to 35, and then ZF to 45 when you can go to LBRS. As long as you've got a Pally or a Warrior LBRS is much much faster than hand grinding--I was getting about an hour a level from 45 to 55. Ramparts from 55 to 60 took one day of play, went faster than 45 to 50.

Of course, the downside to leveling that fast is that when you hit 60 and start quests in Outlands (I waited 'till 60 intentionally to save as much xp as I could) things slow down so much it makes you want to cry >< 4x level 62.55% Shaman and I'm already sick of quest grinding lol. I want it to go faster!

he said he power-leveld from 45-55 in LBRS with his warrior, i thoguht i would try with my rogue since i don't have a 70 warrior. It was terrible, i kept grabbing prox aggro with my 45's and couldnt pull it off with the rogue because no AOE peel (warrior shout would work), also no aoe to take out mobs uber-fast (warrior sweeping strikes / whirldwind would make it ezmode). Basically, anyone tryin to do what he did without an aoe-type 70, save yourself some trouble hehe.

Single-target dps not so good for power leveling lol! I will have a mage and a pally though after my first team its 70 though! :P
