If I just focus fire a target down (3x Lightning BoltsBs), the other mobs will keep beating on the tank. If I open with a chan lightning, I'll get at least one add on my shaman. This forces my tank to blow his taunt (15 sec cooldown!). Starting a little slower then ramping up is MUCH better than starting big and winding down... A lot of this came about from Botanica. Those "Stewards" mobs that can melee AoE your entire group down instantly if one gets away from the tank....

We also chain pull almost every instance (except Arcatraz... I hate that place!). Near-zero downtime. Maybe you work things differently in your group, but this is what works great for us. :)

Hey Fur, are you running with one of your shammies as the designated tank? Do you gear / spec him differently than the other 4? I've only done instances up to ZF so far and never bothered with it, just let the agro bounce around, healing where needed.

This is not accurate. Each time you press a button that 8 second timer resets.

So if you cast chain lightning using that macro, wait 5 seconds, lightning bolt, wait 5 seconds (10 seconds has gone by and Chain is off cooldown...) and hit it again, you'll not cast Chain Lightning.

o rly? Well that explains some of the problems I've been having. :)

I run 5 shammies and it took 3 tries to get this event down, the first time I didn't clear the trash... stupid move, the 2nd time I made it toAeonus but I accidentally used my earth elemental totems a few mins prior when I accidentally hit the wrong hotkey... very stupid move.

For tactics, I dropped a fire elemental totem at the portal on waves 13-17 when I needed to rest up. I found them a lot tougher than using the Chrono-beacon and I think they last longer??

on wave 17 I did a totematic recall and moved out of range before the last mob died, the 2nd time I accidentally had a few around the portal and agroed the boss imediatly. I let Aeonus let hit Medivh for a while so I could get all of my cooldowns up. popped my earth elemental totems and let them grab agro for a few seconds and wailed away, it's been a few weeks but I rememeber each time he stopped time one of my char's resisted it. According to wowwiki you can use pvp trinkets to break the stun too

My girls are geared the same, but my main casts lesser healing wave on my target's target instead of lighting when I press my hotkey, this is only used in boss fights or in heroics against mobs that can 2 shot them.

I gotta give props to people who have managed to 5-box Black Morass. I tried a few times and just got spanked. I even pulled in a friend who has a Kara geared pally and use him in place of my feral druid and we did better, but couldn't get past the 2nd boss. I think it is possible, but I'm just not quick enough with reactions and popping potions, etc. This place is quite a bit harder to box than Shadow Lab, IMHO. The biggest problem I had was keeping up with healing everyone from the mobs that do AE damage.

Spec one of your shaman resto. Earth shield makes a big difference. And you're useing purge to get the haste buff off the 2nd boss right?

I did respec one shaman to resto, but I only have elemental gear, so the healing wasn't spectacular. I was running OOM alot. I was purging the haste buff, but couldn't keep up with everything going on at once. I think my reactions are just too slow sometimes. =/

My god. Trade you black morass for shadow labs anytime. BM is trivial to me. I have yet to beat the inciter. The things that make you good at BM (high DPS) is what makes you suck at inciter. My mages usually do not survive the first charm which is a problem. I am focusing on gearing them up with emphasis on survivability and will come back once I beefed them up a bit. The rest of stuff up to inciter is trivial but he is major suck for paly tank and high dps group.

Yeah, the Inciter was rough, but once I bought a 2nd set of Elder/Eagle/Stamina gear, I had a much easier time killing him. Everything else in the instance was trivial.

Are we talking heroic BM?
