Ah, Gotcha!
Speaking as a usian, yeah we are as a rule bad about being bilingual or even trying. It's pretty dumb considering our neighbors to the south and north.

Well there is way less need in the us to speak multiple languages than for instance in my country. For the simple fact that you have what 250m native English speakers and a good part of the world communicates with you in English as well. In my country (1/13th the size of California, with 11m ppl) we have 3 official languages. If we want to go to the left or right, we have to speak another language, or they don't understand us. So the 'bad' example as you describe the US is more a natural reason than being 'lazy', whereas for us it's more a 'need' rather than being not lazy, we just learn 4 languages in school (well apart from the plumbers, construction workers, etc).
I'm not even thinking about mere utility as much as I'm thinking about foreign languages as a doorway into other cultures & ways of thinking, and be excellent for growth as a person and individual.
Though, I do think learning at least some Spanish for USians is a good idea because it can be very useful, and it isn't like we're going to have smaller Hispanic & Spanish language communities in this country any time soon!
If they are in Europe... they speak more than 1 language... if they are in america they speak typically 1... Deal with it....
He wasn't like QQ I can't understand who I play with. He was saying queue times went from runny shit to a decent clump of crap because they finally pooled more players together.
Vivo en América y español aprendido en el instituto. Supe que debería aprender más que inglés. Ich versuche auch, Deutsch zu lernen, Ich denke, dass Deutsch härter als spanisch ist. Good thing there are so many free translation tools availiable to help people learn and communicate. To this day I still have to check my Spanish grammar since I just don't use it everyday.
Its a bug btw :P
Yes but Americans have that overwhelming sense of self importance that places them outside of reality.
Seriously though - it's not a problem for you but you're complaining on behalf of other people? Let them complain for themselves
