Lot of boxers do the transmuting of the cheaper blue gems into the epic ones with alchemy. Think tailoring also had a cloth transmute which I think is gone when they took out the Titansteel CD. Never tailored so don't quote me :D

The CD on extant cloths were removed, but my guess is they'll reinstate it for whatever the next kind of cloth they put in.
What I'm doing is skilling up alchemy now and just hoarding cloth for my alts to level up. Right now I have enough cloth stocked up from running instances to level 5 tailors 0-450, Worst case scenario is I sell it all if they don't have cooldowns on the new cloth creation.
From what I've heard, there are four or five cloth types, each on a cooldown in Cataclysm.
Not sure if the cooldown is shared between each or not, I'd guess yes.
But that should make each a bit more rare.
Tailoring the high-end Cataclysm items will center around a single cloth type that can be crafted through five different recipes -- each with their own material components and a long cooldown.
and
New unique material used by nearly all high-level recipes will be created by alchemists on a one-day cooldown.
I predict that Alchemy xmute will be cash money.

Correct that the spellweave/ebonweave/moonshroud cooldowns were removed, and instead a cooldown was put on the the 22 slot crafted bags.
Basically... Tailoring is not a cash-cow any more in WotLK.
It was a significant money maker, when there were cooldowns on Ebon/Spellweave and Moonshroud.
Both for selling the cloths or for producing items in a fraction of the time it took others to do so.
But the cooldowns on cloth will exist for 80% of the life of Cataclysm.
Which means it will be an excellent source of boxing income.
Chances are a transmute will exist for the next expansion as well.
I will agree. 5 DKs tear up quest mobs (5x Icy touch and an auto-attack=dead) but they suck in Ramps. The tank was my 80 and the other 4 could not kill mobs fast enough before they died. Maybe do as other suggest and level to 68 and craft gold :)
I ran mine through Blood Furnace last night to finish a few quests at 62 and I had forgotten how truly annoying not having rez is. For those that remember, Blood Furnace has those annoying engineer types in there that come in packs and drop bombs and landmines that do serious AoE damage. Needless to say, i will no longer be leveling the 5 DK group. I have no desire to level a group that is only viable for dailies.
If you did multiple dks... I'd do like 4 and a priest or druid.
