Best way to instance 60-65

I've done the Northrend Rhino (Borean) Grind.

You need at least two toons in the party, to get the experience.
It has to be a party.
I did it with two toons.
An AoE type is preferable, for gathering mobs.

You need pet classes, shammies (totems are pets) are the best.
Have Stoneclaw on round-robin, the stun component rocks.

Gather a bunch, with lowbie AoE (Arcane Explosion rocks for this).
Then drop a Stoneclaw and 3x Magma, refreshing Stoneclaw as it is killed.

I got 5g per stack of 5 Rhino Meat, it is the Dalaran Cooking quest quite often.
It took 4 months to sell it all off, keeping 10-12 stacks of five on the AH daily.
I stopped looting, around level 65 or so, and had 250 stacks at that point.
Passing on the loot, will dramatically speed the process up.
But then again, even if the profit is over time, that was 5k gold in under 5 hrs farming.

If you are interested in leveling a team...
Not sure if this is a good method.
Two stoneclaws on round-robin, likely would not be enough, unless your pulls were a lot smaller then mine.
Also 2x Magma's would take longer to kill things, and experience would go three ways requiring more time.
You could try to boost three toons on run 1, and two toons on run 2, for a full group of five toons boosted.

Or if you're only boosting four toons, two at a time is definitely possible but boring as hell.
That is akin to 4+booster.
I did 12 hours, 60th to 70th; full rested at 60th lasted half an hour.
Not looting the first 5 hours would speed things up, but two runs will slow things down.

I was considering this to see how it would work from 66 - 70. I have a druid bear and two shammies which I would group and then possibly have a mage, either a 70 or an 80 AoE the mobs once the bear has swiped them?
Would this hit my XP a lot if the mage is not in the group?

If the toon is.... I believe 8 or 9 levels beyond your level... any portion of damage they deal is deducted from the experience you get.

So if you have 66's, and an 80 mage...
If the 66's get the mob from 100% to 90% health.
And then the mage finishes the mob quickly.
The 66's will only get 10% of the experience.

On the other hand, if the 90% damage was dealt entirely by the mage pet.
And no damage from the mage themself (damage shield counts as a pet for this).
Then you'd receive 100% of the experience, assuming your lowbies had the mobs tagged.

If you don't have the option of Magma Totems or high pet damage, then sticking the booster in the party is much faster then having them out.
Once your toons got to 72 or 73, and 80 can finish things and not take any experience.

So on this basis my level 70 mageoutside of the group could AoE the mob and the group would get full exp even though the mage would do most of the damage?

It's called mob tagging. IIRC it doesn't work anymore. Also Athene was banned for mob tagging... though it was in instances.

Just ran some level 60 alts through ramps. I want to say I did it three times and got a level and a half. All of it was rested.

Edit: Should add that I boosted the 3 toons through with an 80 pally and shammy for super quick runs.

2 80s? that should KILL the exp they get >_>

Three runs, 1.50 levels.

So with rested, you're looking at 0.50 a level per run.
And without rested, 0.25 a level per run.

Then it just comes down to how quickly you can do your four (non-rested) runs per level.
If the pally is prot, they could solo it, even in quest to 80th type gear.

To be honest I would just use Ramparts, unless Zal reveals his 2 pull strategy in Underbog [which I'd like to know as well since Ramparts is boring me to death]. Eventually it starts taking 5 runs [or more] for a level with rested...believe me I'm in the middle of boosting 4 man teams in there with my single 80. I've never taken a team to 65 in there before, but I boosted my DKs up to 64 in there. I am boosting just as many teams as you are and I just kill the rested on one team and move on. By the time I'm done with the last team I'm so bored I can't do Ramparts for at least a week and they get some rested XP back in that time.

And you are correct, mob tagging inside of an instance is a ban-able offense. And it doesn't work outside of an instance like it used to when BC launched. XP gained is based on how much that person does to the mob.

Just for a little update. I was able to solo setthek halls in about 18 minuets ( including looting). So unless i get a crapton extra exp from the mobs being 8-9 levels higher, then i don't know if it is > ramparts. As ramparts gets me about 8% exp (@ 62) per run, and i know for sure that is 5 runs in 1 hour.

So the 3 runs from setthek halls would have to be worth > 40% of a level to make it worth it. I'll let you guys know later tonight what happens. I have a 4 day weekend, class for 1 day, and then no class for another 4 days. I love next week. So i should be able to get the gold necessary for herbs + levels from doing this leveling of teams to 65.
