...and? ...AND? How did it go with the team, and what setup are you running? (monitor resolutions, dual-view vs horiz span)
I'm tossing up between this card for $229 or the 275 for $400 (yes, it's a huge jump but the 275s are getting rave reviews)

I replaced my 8800 GTX (or was it GTS) with a 285 GTX, Very happy with it.
I have 2x GTX275's in SLI running in my main rig and for the money they are hard to beat. Obviously the SLI is not really geared for WOW, but certanly makes it's impression when running stuff like Crysis and Bioshock. I looked at 285's but the increase was not that great for the additional outlay.
Does SLI work with WoW? I have heard you can get it to work but it takes Win 7 and/or Innerspace. I am going to build a new rig and want the best option to be open if it is cost effective.
I had an 8800 GTX, and upgraded to a 4870 X2 (single card) at about the time I started boxing.
When I upgraded my processor, motherboard and ram to the i7 920, Asus P6T, and DDR3 @1600mhz, the slave windows would rarely (but often enough to be rather annoying) freeze up. This was true for both Keyclone and IS Boxer, so I figured it was hardware related.
Over time, messing around with other components, I learnt it was the video card.
So I downgraded from a 4870 X2 to a GTX 275, which is roughly equivalent to the 4870 (one card).
It handles warcraft very well, with view distance at maximum, shadows at minimum and most other settings in the middle.
Not so sure on SLI with IS Boxer.
It could be SLI, but it could as easily be multiple cards in the same system not in SLI/Crossfire mode.
I know you can create more then one warcraft profile.
And force each profile to run on a separate video card.
And then have some of your accounts on one profile, with the remainder on the other profile.
Which is about the only way you can force the load for whatever clients to be on one card or the other.
Multiple monitor Sli works in vista, the drivers have supported this for about 6 months. I think that you are correct in the assumption that you need innerspace to be able to set which instance of wow uses specific gpus, and to be able to render Directx to another screen other than the primary.
